As what alan26 mentioned; remove the handle by loosening the screw. In your picture, the screw should be covered up. You see two rectangular cover on the handle?, open it up.

Look more like stainless steel in hairline finishing. These got to order from metalwork shop. It's around $30/- for L400mm. If it is s/s. the crack can be repair.

If no choice, then use adapter.

Hinge Failure (screws Sheared Off)
gladyslim replied to aspella77's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
I replaced mine with stainless steel. Remove one pc as sample and get the stainless steel type from hardware shop. Buy exactly the same dimension; should be M6 x 12mm, No. 8. @ 15cents a pc. As for the broke off pc, you need drill a small hole and then enlarge it to about 4mm dia without damaging the nut and use a pointed object like nail to slowly remove the stuck broken screw. -
Discuss with your contractor before you buy the flat bar. These stripes are normally use on granite and marble flooring as its has all edges straight and 90 degree. Ceramic tile have arc edges, the finishing is not that good.

Brass is non-ferrous, soft material just like aluminum, it breaks off easily. Post a picture of the original screw, is there any nut on the wooden door?. -
That's are mainly customise. The ready made type is much cheaper as it's normally in mass production.

Good news, no need to take any picture. Saw my hanger is of the same type and decided to do you a favour and at the same time wipe the sewage piping. I unscrew the the brackety to remove the hanger and saw the bracket is actually fasten to the wall plug. So what u need to do is unscrew the bracketry, with its screw, test it onto the hole of the bracket to see what size of wall plug to use. I think is 6mm. Get the heavy duty black colour type.

It is called Flat bar. I think now the price is roughly about $25/- per length. If you are using hack saw, it is better to get the white colour bi-metal saw blade, about $3/- as the material is very hard. You can try w/o the bracketry. In the market, tig welding services of alumn, brass and s/s are very rare unlike the mig & arc welding for metal. .

Stainless steel is normally use as alumn corrode faster. The width of the s/s depends on the thickness of the tiles. Grade 304 is good enough and comes in finishing of 2B(unpolished), 4B, Hairline and BA x L4000mm The smallest width is 3mm x 6mm. One important thing to take note when buying this is to ask for original all sides straight 90 degree as some company sell those shear from plate with sharp cutting edges. Another thing is, bracketry must be welded to it for the tile to 'sit' on it so that it won't not comes off easily. Check with Hong Hock and Lian Soon, get the 4B finishing(close to hairline). By the way, contractor normally order this from metalcraft factory, not only because of of welding, cutting is also a problem.

Take a picture of the hole with the insert. If it is using the colour jute and with the screw broken in it, just pull out the whole thing. If using steel plug, take a close-up of the thread to see whether it is BSW or uf thread. Measure the diameter of the hole of the bracketry. I might be able to guess.

Most power tool like grinder, drill etc run at very high speed. It is not easy to handle when in use on the object, hold tight, keep the power cable away to prevent accidentally cut on it Keep close to the on/off button to cut off power supply incase of emergency. You can mount the trimmer onto the underside of the worktop so that you have both hand to hold the work piece. Secure a straight plank in line and above the trimmer bit to guide you for a good job.

Check the power before you buy. May need to use isolator - 400v as it is 3 horsepower.

Most small scale furniture factory only have the table saw to cut plywood. Look for carpentry joinery works, they will have the mortise machine, radial saw and planner etc. You can do it yourself manually using the tenon saw and chisel, its only a matter of time. Best if you have hole saw and jig saw.

Cordless drill is only good for driving screw into plywood or soft timber. It is not powerful for drilling of metal or any hard material, the coil worn out easily.

If you had change the bottle trap & clear the pipe, maybe is chokage at the floor trap with harden oil. Make a small bend on a teaspoon, tie it onto a pole to scoope the harden residue, you might need to knock a little to break the oil block. How much you pay for the replacement of bottle trap? Actually for chokage or leakage, there's no need to change for a new bottle trap. Loosen the screw on the sink that mount onto the trap, loosen the bottle trap; first point under the sink, second on the neck, third, the horizontal pipe and lastly the bottom part of the bottle. It is very simple to do.
