Renovation have been moving fast for the past 1 week. So happy to see our house taking shape... Below are the updates... The uneven width of the doorway have now been fixed. The MBR doorway (on the photo's left) is now shift more to the right to allow more space in the Walk in Wardrobe on the other side of the wall. Construction of my cabinets in the study room. The hole is actually the Starhub Cable box in the MBR. But in order to keep a clean profile in the MBR, the ID propose that the box be extended into the Study Room. My bookshelf in the MBR and Display Cabinet in Living Room taking shape

Have also done some shopping and this are a list of items that I have bought... Asus Nova Lite (To be place in the living room so that me n my wife can surf net from the living room and record TV program) My Dream massage chair Ogawa Smart 10 (Bought it during the mother day's promo) Slumberland Royal Princess Mattress (Could not buy a king size as the walk in wardrobe took up much of the space)(Come with free bed frame 2 pillows and 2 bolster) We tried alot of mattress. I wanted a firmer mattress due to back problem but my wife prefer a softer one. In the end, we got the royal princess as it is not too firm nor soft. Quite comfy as it is latex. Highly recommended. We also like the Serta Wisconsin and Jersey but in the end we decided against it as we felt the royal princess is more value for money.

Been 2 weeks since I update this thread... Have been busy and also need to deal with some personal problems... Here are the updates Nothing much have been done for my new house... mostly electrical works. According to my ID, this is one of the most crucial phase as this form the backbone of the house. When the false ceiling and capentry work is done, it will be difficult to change any electrical wiring so it need to be right the 1st round... Here are some of the photos... No decision yet... Will keep all of you posted. We decided to KIV this until we need to make the decision (We always do things this way when we can't arrive at a decision) Yes... Finally Reno started and my hacking permit is also approve... Here are some pictures My BR3 is larger now as I get rid of the corridor My existing MBR door will be hacked away and sealed up. Access will be thru the new opening in the photo My kitchen wall hack to pave way for an open concept dry kitchen My 2 access to MBR and BR 2 / BR 3 (The 2 access size is uneven so have already told ID to do something about it My access from MBR to BR 2(Study Room) After hacking my living room is now brighter (Source from the kitchen) Really glad I made a decision to go for open concept kitchen...

Wow so many people share the same sentiments as Applefreak, will give some serious thoughts to it and discuss with my wife, she is the one who wanted to seal it... I was wondering if there will be sufficient sunlight from the opening beside the motif wall... Thanks for all yr feedbacks and comments...

I am not going for the dryer as there is only 2 of us at the moment so the dryer built into the washing machine should be sufficient. Is there a vent on the washing machine with dryer? Not veri sure about that. Another consideration is whether the rain will come into the yard. But I guess unless the rain is heavy and strong wind that shouldn't be a prob. You are making me having 2nd thoughts of covering up the wall... maybe discuss with my wife again...

That's what I thought also but we were concerned about our neighbours below. We were afraid the water will spill into their service yard. However Downstairs is not much of a walkway. The only way we can do it is during rainy days if we wanted to.

Hi Applefreak I love the wall to but unfortunately the gaps in between get very dirty and difficult to maintain so after some considerations decided to seal it up. It's also pretty windy as well... Haiz

Finally HDB sent their contractor to do up my kitchen. Below is my new kitchen and service yard... Tiles are from Hafary... Kitchen Service Yard I really like the modern look of my new kitchen... !!

,Congrats U finally got yr permit. I also got my permit just yesterday. According to them, the contractor who submit did not put the word doorway in one of the walls to be hack so was lying there n not processed. Wonder if they use the same excuse every now and then... Owner definitely more powerful... according to my ID, most of the time the owner start to get upset and things will start moving...

Visited the lightshop with my ID sometimes back, this are some of the lights that we are interested in... Our considerations is for easy future maintenance more than design... Apologise for the low resolution, it was taken using HP MBR (Fit our theme of Modern Classic but this is quite difficult to maintain) Desk Lamp (Like the way how it complement the ceiling light) Dining Area (Easy to maintain and We also like the effects of the light on the ceiling but we did not take any photos) Study Room Service Yard Thanks wenniee... Hi Wenniee, Agree with Applefreak to ask that person to leave a msg and also take down the person's name whom U spoke to... If no one is picking up, leave a voicemail. Call every 10mins (If U have the time)... When U leave voicemail use a more stern tone... My experience with HDB is to take the hardline approach. ( U can find out what happen on my thread). My 2 cents worth... I always want to go for "Lifestyle" product but my wife will like to go for things that are more pratical and cost lower...

Hi Keltong Spam Spam. The MBR really challenging. Me and my wife almost want to get this house during the WIS last year but decided against it. If we have bought the house, we will have make the original study room a Walk in Wardrobe... Hav U seen the HDB showflat for this layout, should be able to provide U with some ideas...

I am looking at Cooker Hob and Hood. Any brands to recommend? Is Electrolux good? I know they have good washing machines but dun know about hob and hood... !!

I really want to salute my TO. Me and My ID was suppose to meet him today (Mon) at 1100am to discuss the things that were outstanding. We told him specifically to wait for us as since he and the contractor screw up. We reach at 1130am but was shock to find no one there. He left a piece of paper on the wall and say he got a meeting and gotta go and will call us in the afternoon. But his contractor also not around. Went for meeting also??? WTF? The works is already outstanding for 2 weeks. He called only at 5pm and told me the problems that we highlighted will only be done when the kitchen tiles is lay. I query him why is there a delay in giving the keys to the tiles contractor and he told me they were waiting for 1 another to call. WTF? He sound as though he got nothing to do with it. I ask for his HP number so it's easier to contact him (Veri difficult to reach him in office, worse than my SVP) He refused and doesn't sound happy. I guess this is the final draw for me, I will most likely be lodging an official complaint against him. I will get my ID contractor to finish his work. I know most likely I can't get HDB to remiburse the $ but I will make sure he and the contractor also go down. Anyone know where to get the TO superior contact info? Pictures of the screw up by HDB Study Room and Toilet rooms not fix back (The MBR and 2 BR Dr is fix back when the tiling is completed) My toilet bowl which is lying around in Service Yard (My other toilet bowl is in another bathroom) Water point not fix back and the sink lying around in the bathroom The only thing that they action fast is the slides on the windows, not that the TO is kind but because we decided not to pursue on the matter of scratches on the windows and out of goodwill we request all slides to be change. Am I the only one who is very upset with HDB? Is there anyone with similar experience? Houses are not cheap now and I think I deserve better service...

Hmm Seems that there will always be a prob with hacking permit. I am also waiting for mine to get approve. A few of my fren also encounter problems previously. My ID told me it helps for the owner to call and complain but that is provided U can find someone... I also love to shop but alway got cut short by my wife...
