  1. Parquet flooring are square panels made of up short strips of wood. As for the teak flooring, they're might be planks made of long strips of wood. Hope that helps.
  2. You cannot compare bamboo flooring to parquet flooring. Aside from being an eco-friendly product, bamboo flooring is meant to last a lifetime. It is harder than oak and teak. It can also be sanded down and refinished. You can't do that with parquet flooring.
  3. Yes, we've installed bamboo flooring through out our 4 room flat. After one year it still looks beautiful. Bamboo flooring is a sustainable, lifetime investment so cost-wise you can't compare it to parquet. Our supplier was Star Bamboo. Their website has plenty of helpful information.
  4. Hello all...Sorry for late reply. We went to Star Bamboo. Overall, we are very pleased with the service and results! The planks were installed over the existing ceramic tiles. Star Bamboo's website has tons of helpful info and pictures of various projects.
  5. If I could only go to one decor website it would be this: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com (was voted one of the top 100 sites by Time Magazine) It's a useful site because it features small spaces that are truly lived in. From here you can explore links to other great sites. Now I don't need to buy magazines! Pssst! Apartment Therapy was voted one of the top 100 sites by Time Magazine.
  6. For a quick instant fix, try rubbing a walnut/walnut oil over the scratch.
  7. As for the banging, my architect suggested velcro strips at the bottom rung.
  8. We also choose Star Bamboo. The floors will be stalled this week!
  9. Yes, we decided to go with bamboo flooring primarily because it's good for the environment in addition to being beautiful and durable. Because of the humidity in Spore, it's very important that you go with a reputable dealer who knows how to install bamboo. In short, he needs to aware of acclimation, moisture control and proper floor preparation in your home to prevent warping. And yes, it's going to be more expensive than parquet flooring; but if you want a green alternative, you're investing in the future of our planet!
