My child was injured at school, it was the schools fault. The injury itself was, I guess minor but did result in having to go to theatre and have general anaesthetic as well as a trip to a&e and again for scan and follow ups. My question is if I should pursue a personal injury claim or leave it be. What are peoples general thoughts on pursuing this?

I run 300' 5/16 G4 chain connected to my 55# Rocna holding my 14 ton fly bridge trawler. Chain is rusty, no noticable wear on the links that I could see but want to hear if anyone has actually had a break in adverse conditions. Tons of talk about formulas for windage etc for sizing, heavier is better for sleep at night peace, but in real life is breakage a real or common incident?

This is just friendly advice to new safe owners. I typically spent many years buying small safes that I could easily move on my own with family helpers. However when I stepped up to buy a larger safe I didn't know the extra expense would be worth it. But after considering I wouldn't have enough help or equipment to move it safely, I thought it would be best to pay the price and let them move it. IT WAS THE BEST MONEY EVER SPENT! The Movers brought the safe with a hydraulic trailer made to raise and lower to the height required for unloading. The movers brought all the plywood they needed to roll the safe over to avoid damaging my floor. 1200lbs isn't as easy to move by an amateur like me. Best money I ever spent, no fooling!

Hello everybody! I would like to have your opinions about Ethernet cables. I recently saw some silly expensive Ethernet cables! Do you think it is worth spending a huge amount for a cable which transfers data? Your thoughts please! Thank you!

My wife and I are discussing using sex toys during sex..but I,as her husband, feel a little threatened that she will enjoy them more than me! How can a couple use them in a way that either spouse doesn't feel replaced? I mean,I know they can sometimes help with both of us with orgasms..but don't want toys to be the "go to" for lovemaking Question from a Concerned Husband

I need a large a/c window unit bc it has to cool off a large open space of 450 sq feet. It looks like I need 12,000 BTUs. That's a heavy machine. So installation is not going to be easy. And we have vinyl siding on the house and don't want to have to screw anything into that on the outside. I assume a unit that large will need additional support brackets? In addition to the installation issue, they've just recalled millions of units that were causing mold. Midea and associated brands...Frigidaire? Any way I am not sure if it is that particular model or if the new Ushape design units are a problem. I like the idea of the U shape and would it be easier to install? The GE has a clearview model that hangs below the sill and allows more view out the window etc. So it is one of the U shape units? I am going around in circles about which one to get. In that 12,000 btu category - Of course I wouldn't buy a Midea, which is the most popular one. The GE Clearview - do I have enough space under the sill for it. I have a radiator there but...it is almost recessed and not on now. It would not come down low enough to cover the area where the heat comes out. But a lot of people hate the GE brand, but Consumer Reports gives it high marks. The other two choices are LG which again, Consumer Reports rates highly, but on Amazon they tag it as something that is frequently returned. And a few very bad reviews with nightmare experiences with bad customer service for a damaged unit. I haven't read all the reviews on all the brands, I normally would but I'm rushing. The only other unit I am considering is a Friedrich. Consumer Reports considers them lower then the others and rate them a 75 vs 89 and 92 for the others. I was hoping that someone here might have experience with any of these air conditioners or has had some great experience with another unit that they could recommend? Also has anyone used TaskRabbit for something like this a/c installation?

House is going on 6 years and the carpets have never been cleaned. The need for cleaning was there after six years let alone with a cat and dog thrown in. Didn't look dirty and no stains that is until Emily my Corgi cacked up the aftermath of dark colored treat. Six years and 2.5 of those with the superstar of shedding then toss in a cat it was time. Moved most the furniture out of the bedroom that is the first of 3 rooms and 2 larger area rugs. Had to vacuum the carpet 3 times to get all the corgi hair that was hiding under that moved furniture. I can tell you a Roomba doesn't cut it. I can run the Roomba on carpet then run the my upright. The upright will pick-up over 10 times what the Roomba did plus a lot more dirt/dander. With that done time to shampoo. The thought of lugging a big rental back and forth then maneuvering that big machine in a small house wasn't appealing so decided to buy a machine. It's a Bissell ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet 1548 their middle of the road machine. Price for the Bissell was good but what they want for cleaning fluid is ridiculous. Luckily it came with a couple of small bottles that got the bedroom and an area rug done. I'll make my own cleaning fluid from now on. There's plenty of recipes on the net. It did a real good job of both cleaning and sucking the water back up. Really no difference between a rental and the Bissell except that the Bissell only holds a gallon so you have to fill-up more often. Other than that much the same. Easy one handed use. Finished about 4 in the afternoon, By 11pm the carpet was almost dry the area rug only took about 2 hours if that.

Where is everyone buying jewellery nowadays? I am on Zoom calls 4 hours a day for work (VPN to Europe, but I live in GTA), and jewellery is starting to stress me out! I need to look professional on camera, so I always need new pieces.. I love Mejuri, but their drops lately are looking dated. Also, quality has been an issue lately (losing colour). JewelrySocial is ok, good quality but their selection is limited. My fav Etsy seller closed their store, not sure if/when they’ll be back. Michael Hill / People, I haven’t bought anything from them in years. How are they now? .Where is everyone shopping now? Any hidden gems? I’d prefer to support Canadian.

I am looking to change my career path to a different path, but I do not know what I should go for or what I should say to the interviewer. I tried looking for relevance but I believe I am missing out on something. Could someone give me advice on what I could explain to the interviewer if they ask why I want to switch career?

We hit on odds and *** from time to time, so I am just curious as to how many of us actually wager on sports (excluding some $5 bet with your neighbor type thing). It seems that, with the advent of online sports betting, there is more interest in sports, or it could be just the gambling fix itself...like people playing fantasy football who don't watch a game. Just curious, do you put a few bucks on sports? Me? College football & basketball is it. And I usually play a couple of bets per weekend all under a c-note.

My house burned down in the Palisades fire. Homes are really close together here. Now that I'm rebuilding, I'm looking for something to keep embers from getting into the house, and to protect windows when the radiant heat causes windows to break. Does anyone make fire-resistant shutters, or some sort of mesh that you can roll down over windows in the event of an impending fire?

I am just about to embark on a new exiting journey to set up a home studio from a double garage that is at a house I will be moving in to shortly and am scoping it all out and researching as much as I can. The one thing that I am having difficulty with , is finding a suitable Soundproof Glass Sliding Door. The one drawback of the build is that it will be a shared space and being doubled as a summer house, so can't have the typical double soundproof door setup. With all the interiors I can go to town with the soundproofing, doing the room in a room method but I will only have one single point of entry which will be some sliding patio doors. Does anyone have experience of studio builds using these? Is it a waste of time trying to find a suitable product because it won't have the desired performance? I won't be recording drums in this space and guitars are recorded via a Suhr Reactive Load so again noise won't be excessive but I will be recoirding vocals (sometimes screaming metal vox) and brass so need a good level of performance. There is also a railway line that runs about 100ft behind the building. Any good suggestions?

Hi there, I'm looking for a set of earbuds like these (Huawei SE 3 earbuds), that specifically use a dedicated 2.4ghz USB dongle and does not include any silicon ear-tips. Currently I use the above Huawei earbuds and I find them quite comfortable but they use Bluetooth. I recently had a minor operation on my head and cannot use my headsets for the next couple of months. My use case for them would be mostly work related like on Teams calls. There's too much of a delay when using Bluetooth. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

It's the Euro 2020 and discussion in another thread made me wonder whether most people systematically cheered their own country's team, or if they could have a different favourite team, either because they like the players better, or because they may not feel bound to imperatively support the country in which they were born and/or grew up (or where their ancestors came from for people living outside Europe)? As a child and teenager I watched mostly tennis tournaments and my favourite players had nothing to do with nationality and everything to do with style and personality. Yet, in my experience, when it comes to football almost everyone around me supports their own country, as if that was a civic duty. That makes me wonder whether they are watching the games out of a sense of tribalistic pride or for the actual sport and the quality of the team and individual players? Nowadays I don't have much time to follow any sport to be knowledgeable about the players. I leave that to the true fans. But I do not feel compelled either to support exclusively Belgium. Be it football or other team sports, or even country medals at the upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games (already starting in 3 weeks), I tend to favour countries that I generally like culture-wise. That includes England/Britain, Italy and Japan. And although I am a French speaker and know French history and culture better than the average French person, I usually do not support France because of the typical attitude of French supporters. I was particularly happy to see France loose to Switzerland in the Euro 2020, as several French sports commentators on TV had mocked the Belgian team and told them to go home and eat chips/fries. A lot of French people like to mock Belgium in very much the same way as Barney Stinson mocks Canada in the series How I Met Your Mother.

Hello, I am working with a womenswear retailer (several physical stores + online). We use Shopify Plus for the online store and are in the process of migrating to Shopify POS. We are exploring new ERP solutions. Are there any similar businesses using MS Dynamics 365 Business Central? At first glance, it looks as if could be a good fit, although it does not handle product variants in an apparel-friendly way (or in the same way as Shopify). There are 3rd party apps that provide additional related functionality (e.g. CS Fashion Central Premium, others). If you work at (or know of) a similar business that uses or has looked into MS Dynamics 365 Business Central to run in combination with Shopify, please share your thoughts and experience. Thank you.
