CarolWilks 0 Report post Posted May 12 Technical items that have come up at Server User Group in the past but are in a currently unknown state: There was work underway to reduce the impact of avatar arrival on a sim. That would reduce the 1-3 second stalls that plague high-traffic clubs and shopping events. Many months ago there was a test where Server User Group attendees were asked to TP to another region all at once. It seemed to work. Whatever happened to that? Will the Enable Agent Communication fix deploy with WebRTC? How are the fixes to the HTTPS server to viewer event channel networking coming? The goal was to stop losing messages. The problem is understood (both server side and client side have retry timers, and they don't play well together), but time-consuming to fix.
SherlynPadilla 0 Report post Posted May 12 I’ve seen these server-side projects go a bit quiet before, so I usually just poke the SUG notes or wait for a Linden to drop a hint in-world. While I was digging into performance stuff for my own builds, I leaned on https://allcorrectgames.com/service/game-art/ for some clean, lightweight art that didn’t stress regions as much, and that actually helped me keep things smoother during avatar spikes.
