Fengshui is part of Chinese Metaphysics. ALL systems in Chinese Metaphysics originated from astronomy. For thousands of years, astrology and astronomy in China did not part ways until Qing dynasty became history.

Best to get a proficient practitioner to select the relevant date. For personal endeavor, he would use your birthdata to match to the exact hour with the specific function. Such as wedding, signing of important contracts etc.

For FengShui, he would use your birthdata (and your family's), your residence (or office)'s FengShui code/data and match to the exact hour. The system to use must match with the system of Fengshui he uses.

Using Tong Shu is only small % of the WHOLE equation. Tong Shu can be calculated from celestial objects' position. That is a specialised and complicated computation. Impt: not all Tong Shu are printed accurately. Selecting dates from Tong Shu is not advisable for important days of your life. Plus, you would not know how to match your birthdata and other pertinent info to the dates. These are time-consuming specialised skills.
