  1. hi Pepa and others who tried to explode my private message box :-) I read with interest recently about Vin Leo partnering up with Zoe Foo, an expert in in BaZi. http://firstprinciplesinc.com Their website is very interesting as they provide 3 reviews after audits. Also, they seem to be the only FSM in Singapore and possibly in English medium who would be prepared to offer commercial businesses money-back-guarantee. Very smart site despite being under construction. Go and read their blogs: http://vinfengshui.blogspot.com and http://www.zoefoo.com Rarely will you see such standard in Singapore FSM scene. I am a fan of Zoe's Bazi reading style. She is better than most pro in Bazi and well read in Chinese metaphysic. Both of them are held in high regards by the world-wide English FSM community for abilities. Reading their Chinese posts I am really proud of them as Singaporean. This should be the way Feng Shui is practiced. Professional and specific. http://www.xuanyi-geomancy.com I dunno this FSM but he seems promising. Though I am not sure when someone is not specific enough when he says he is doing specific Feng Shui. If he is good, it is a real pity becos his site is not be clear! I reserve benefit of doubt d check him out and let rest of us know. Good luck! Gui
  2. Hi renotalk, what method are you using? Zhen Yin Zhen Yang? What about Yin & Yang of the place? 山山有五行...不現場辨證陰陽五行會出事的。這格局是顛倒還是顛倒顛? rgds, Gui
  3. Hi Dr. Evil, Haha, funny nick. Center of yr hse is right outside the toilet. Determining the center of the house has no real fixed formulae. IT depends on the Yin & Yang of the house when the property is of irregular shape. I.e. NOT square or rectangle. rgds, Gui
  4. This is a specific question which answer is different from house to house. First of all, the house must have harmonious Qi flowing throughout. Has anybody heard of 水火即濟? It means Water and Fire in perfect harmony. In Yi Jing, this is the last 2nd hexagram where things are completed, accomplished. Near perfection not but not perfection. (Why not perfection? Cos in life we shouldnt seek 100% - then there will be no room to improve and work for, and then the downhill will definitely come.) For such a house with good Qi, even if the sink n stove are opp to each other it does not matter. For most houses, which are not in state of harmonious Qi, then being opp to each other is the biggest no-no. Side by side is no problem just give it 1-2 feet apart for pracical reasons. The caveat is for LOCATION/SECTOR of such configuration in NW and SW in GENERAL. This is becos NW and SW are Heavenly Gate and Earth Gate, 天地門. You dun want Fire and Water to be in those location which in bad years will cause health issues. Side track: All things being equal, North-South houses are superior to than others. Water and Fire are life forces. People who know a little about TCM will understand why.
  5. Hi geomic, I guess you are practising? Read your blog and appreciate the exposure you are trying to give FengShui. However, I a, sorry to disagree with you on above. What is Yin? What is Yang? You would know the answer if you look at the relations of Sun, Moon and Earth. What is 5 elements? You would know the answer if you would look at the influence of 28 constellations and the other planets within our Solar system. Hence, people who trivialise FengShui with symbolic crystals, plants, mirrors etc really dunno what they are talking about. Is FengShui only confine to low rise buildings? Definitely not. Qi moves in all directions. Hence, there are horizonal AND vertical Qi. In the major cities of this world like New York, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Seoul and even Singapore, we have multi-millionaires living in very high-rise buildings. (As much as we have poor people living in high-rise public housing.) They can be on 100th floor and still be influenced by FengShui. The simple looking Tai Ji diagram if well understood can explained this adequately. Qi can be explained as a function and summation of RELATIVE influence from gravitational pull, bio-rhythm motion, time and space. The ancient sages observed celestial objects' influence to nature and human before amassing collective wisdom in the principles of Yin & Yang 5 Elements. regards, Gui
  6. This is not true for all houses. It really depends on the Fengshui formation of the house. What if your house needs the Qi to be moving fast N/S due to its formation which only an on site audit by a FSM can tell? ++ In cases where there should be a partition, it is not true that the structure needs to be shorter than master of the house. There is no FengShui basis to that.
  7. Hi No Horse Run, That is only the end instruction to clients when all proper jobs are done by FSM. Positive Qi must be there in landform and internal configuration before we can instruct the clients to use various rooms for specific functions. They use need to 'use' the positive Qi through such activities. rgds,
  8. Best to get a proficient practitioner to select the relevant date. For personal endeavor, he would use your birthdata to match to the exact hour with the specific function. Such as wedding, signing of important contracts etc. For FengShui, he would use your birthdata (and your family's), your residence (or office)'s FengShui code/data and match to the exact hour. The system to use must match with the system of Fengshui he uses. Using Tong Shu is only small % of the WHOLE equation. Tong Shu can be calculated from celestial objects' position. That is a specialised and complicated computation. Impt: not all Tong Shu are printed accurately. Selecting dates from Tong Shu is not advisable for important days of your life. Plus, you would not know how to match your birthdata and other pertinent info to the dates. These are time-consuming specialised skills.
  9. Fengshui is part of Chinese Metaphysics. ALL systems in Chinese Metaphysics originated from astronomy. For thousands of years, astrology and astronomy in China did not part ways until Qing dynasty became history. FengShui is layman's term harnessing the positive meridian spots of Mother Earth which will bring about positive energies -> good relations & health brings about-> opportunities & recognitions and in turn giving one wealth, honour and strong social support system. These are essence of good and happy life. Fengshui works by LOCATING the residence of interest around the meridian spots and aligning it to meet the best possible reception of positive Qi. This includes main door and internal arrangements of pathways, location of beds, stove and function of rooms etc. The activation is by date selection. All these are done by matching celestial objects position. None of above has anything to do with religion. Any race can use FengShui cos it does not go against their faith. If you are interested then research into the history of Taoism and Chinese Buddhism. Fengshui did not originate from these doctrines.
  10. Ghost month is not a concern in FengShui. Again, just make sure like any other months to ALWAYS choose a good date to start renovation.
  11. Fully agree. Cultivation of kind heart, kind deeds, that help other souls in ways that you know best. A person who donates for sake of 'honour' and brags about the millions he donates is many times less enlighten and thus blessed than a compassionate beggar who give half of his food to a neighbour in hunger. There is no measure in good deeds. Sometimes, 口德 is already a good deed. 施恩不望报, 阴德只需天知。
  12. Too vague to help you. The main entrance to the block is more important than how the path leads to the lift. How do you know for sure it is NS facing? Hearsay or DYI 'FengShui' for layperons with little knowledge is going to create many FS issuess. Pls try to hire a professional esp. if this apartment is for your own use.
  13. 无恩之刑 is just a term of a 3-way penalty between 3 of 寅申巳亥. The effect is determined by a person's BaZi. What you are asking is too vague. No direct inference in Fengshui. Of cos, the person's FengShui would reflect the situation in BaZi. 天地人 are always connected.
  14. Dear bobho, 5 Elements painting does not work in FengShui. Like I wrote many times, anyone who wants to challenge this statement please simply raise an example from any FS classics.... While I can appreciate you come from an angle of a satisfied customer, I would have leave things if specific name is not raised cos it stems from personal experience and lack of knowledge on intricacy of FengShui. So if someone else wants to put a cheap Chinese '5 Elements' painting for pseudo FengShui or 'faith' – fine by me. (I wonder what FengShui benefit you see from their work. Would you mind sharing?) The problem here is unreasonable price to the thread originator and extorbitant prices to others I personally know. Either way con jobs becos to people who know FengShui : 1. the practitioner knows it is BS and yet sell items many times over price 2. the practitioner has little knowledge and still stage the items as part of Fengshui. This is giving the ancient discipline a very bad name, a lack of ethics. There are many misconceptions of Fengshui above. Essentially: 1. Fengshui is not only long term. It can be VERY short term, within days. 2. There is no such thing as 'following through put instructions of FSM'. It is the FSM who must be specific. Floor plans are a specific guide. Direction is universal. Location in relation is idiot-proof. Date selection is also specific as in XX Year, XX mth, XX Day XX, hours. Name selection – needless to mention…. These are ALL that is really required in FengShui. Consumers should not succumb to scare tactics of buying items. The answer is simple. It is lucrative business in 'giving promise' and 'offering hope'. This is parallel to paying hundreds and thousands for anti-aging cream. Wrong becos 1. Ask any Mediacorp producers if they know any subject close to expert level's knowledge. The answer to most subjects is 'no'. 2. I did not write that it is 'advertising'. Sure, you can mention your company name IF you sponsor the show. But NOT for FengShui. Mr. Peng is not allowed to mention his company’s name in programs like CNY celebration. You probably are not aware there is regulation on geomancy in media by Spore govt. No show producers in Mediacorp would dare to violate the vague regulations. 3. What layperson has no idea is that 12 animals astrology has no bearing in authentic FengShui or BaZi. We use stars not animals in Chinese Metaphysics. 3. It is definitely promotion for fame as like any other 'celebrity expert'. Fame bred business. Nothing wrong with that and no big deal juz becos one appears on TV. I agree with your last statement. Unfortunately, I disagree with others. I went to one of those talks. Low standards or irrelevant to authentic Chinese Metaphysics and promotion of 'hopes' at best. Actually, all ok with me because everyone market their business differently. AGAIN, the issue I have is OVER pricing items and promoting ‘Fengshui’ in wrong light. I do not know about others. Most of my clients are individuals with life issues – money, relationships and health. More often than not they have serious issues. A professional FSM would never in his conscience abuse their trust and their moment of weakness. Good luck. ☺ Gui
  15. I use whatever method/s from both San Yuan or San He systems for the SPECIFIC issues and SPECIFIC resident/s. Every house is different. Cannot use one method for all type of properties with different structures and all human with different issues and birth data. :-) You need background in Yi Jing and Bazi before FengShui. Start by understanding the LoShu, HeTu, Jing Fang Gua and 8 Trigrams really really well. Dun just touch and go. Ask yourself why is LoShu for later heaven (Hou tian) where do the numbers/image/elements come from? Same for the rest listed. These are the easy to learn different to understand in depth BASICS -易懂难精. Once you can understand in DEPTH, then proceeding to learn different systems becomes very easy. After the basics nobody can BS you about FengShui. good luck.
