Chunky Monkey 2 Report post Posted December 31, 2007 I have a few downlights in the house that give out a humming sound when I switch them on. I googled about it, and it seems that it's probably because the ballast is loose and thus vibrates inside the light fitting.I was given some ballasts by the lighting shop which I bought my lights from as standy, in case I need to replace the ballasts in some of them.Has this happened to anyone? I have asked for the electrician to come back to check on all the lights in the house. Good thing I have not paid him yet, so hopefully he will be good and come back to sort out the lights.
