I've just received a quotation from one of the ID firms for my resale 5-rm flat (120 sqm). I will be doing a total makeover including windows, electrical works and piping (cold water). Is this quotation okay for all that i'm doing? Thanks.

Your electrical works costs $4k+? Oh wow! Mine's a 5 rm resale unit - 126sqm but the contractors (i had not finalised which to go to) quoted me $1k+ to $2.4k (highest). ;)

Perhaps you can get other contractors quotations? Perhaps bcoz yrs is id... so they factor the id costs inside... :D

I feel that the electrical works is a bit on the high side too. Do you think it will be too troublesome to engage an external contractor to do just the electrical works considering that I will be making false ceiling/L-box for living/dining/MBR? Thanks.

Hihi..

Personally whd prefer 1 main con to do all. But then again, you may have to find one tt can be trusted. Of course hubby n I will do spot chks @ odd timings still (1/2 day leave on an ad-hoc basis), but not tt freq like daily lor. Unless you have the time to supervise each part of the work. ;)

Perhaps you can chk out other forummers t-blogs in here. Some had outsourced the electrical part to other ppl. :D

That was the part that i'm afraid of also. If i let another contractor do the electricals, i may end up being very bo-eng, but the $$$$ saved is very tempting indeed. ;)

I find the electrical price quite reasonable considering the number of lighting & power point you have. My advice is to let once company or ID handle the electrical work as well. This is so that should there be any issues you just have to go back to one party and let them coordinate & arrange everything saving you time and less headache as to who's responsible should any dispute arises. What's more you can quote together with your other renovation cost and hold off the final 10% until you are satisfied and according to the contract.

Resale flat reno is like dat 1. Demolition works by itself, already add up 2 thousands of $$$. Then gota add in e new works' cost, it wil b a hefty sum. :rolleyes:

- e quotation pricing is quite reasonable.

- e items r very clearly listed out. (No hidden cost) .

- e elect quote is not high, considering e nos. & types of pts & works.

- frm e way e quotation is itemized, i believe they r quite organize & detail in their work. :notti:

If u were 2 get another quotation frm another ID co, mayb u wld b able 2 judge e pricing. But i gues dis quotation is a very gd benchmark. :dribble:
