How To Store Cd&dvds?where To Buy?

Recommended Posts

Hi, everyone,i'm new here, really need help! SOS!

I just moved my house 3 weeks ago, still no place to keep those CDs&DVDs.

I guess I have few hundreds, or thousand of them? There are 20 carton boxes need to be unpacked. :bangwall:

Can anyone share the experience how to store the CD&DVDs? and where to buy those storage box or funiture?

There is a CD tower in Ikea which can only hold 188 CDs, i don't think that i want 10 CD towers standing inside my house like an army :(

I intended to keep them inside CD boxes, label it and put into the book shelf, but my hubby refused to do that, saying it is inconvenience.

What should I do?

Thousand thanks!!!!!!!

That is a huge collection of media!

A tech-savvy person will actually burn all these into hard disks and stream it off a computer and sell the whole collection to recoup some monies (of course must make sure there is a backup system in place like a RAID 5 configuration). This will take up the least amount of space as probably only 3 or 4 1GB hard disks are required. Disadvantage will be the time needed to rip the CD/DVDs and the technical know-how needed.

Second option is to buy those Billy bookcases from Ikea and store your CD/DVDs in them. Since these bookcases are modular, you should be able to accommodate your collection. If you are afraid of dust, then just get the optional glass doors.
