Makeover Kitchen + Toilets

Recommended Posts

Not yet leh, can't decide what to get. I'm quite ok with the current setting. I'll usually dry and put them away into the drawers at the end of the day. But think a nice dishrack would be useful... let me know if you found one ok :P

i past homefix city square mall yesterday and saw SimpleHuman compact dishrack that can be placed on top of table or on the sink, selling for $79.

but still looking for better alternatives...

Help needed...

I converted my balcony into a living space and had parquet flooring for that area. Not long after I moved in, I realised that there is a water seepage issue :( Not sure where it's from so I call up contractor. He arranged for window guy to come but window guy say not really their problem cos glass panel is firmly fixed, no sign of water seepage. But he did apply silicon to seal up some possible area.

wall.jpg

See from image, the blue oval area is the extra piece he uses to 'seal' up the gap inbtw the wall and the balcony frame to reduce the impact of rain water. But he cannot reached the base to apply the silicon, so it's not fully sealed up, thus causing water being collected there...

The red arrow showing water seepage.

So after that told dear contractor abt my wood flooring issue (turned dark, glue not sticking well for the skirting etc...), he got the wood flooring guy to come up and have a look and told me that he would change those affected...

So just in case it's not his fault, but HDB's, I call up HDB, then over to TownCouncil to check on water seepage issue. They came, say confirm not wall issue. It could be that the frame when installed, not probably siliconed...

Of cos dear darling contractor, those he knows him, knows how he talk lah... say this... 'no one in the whole singapore will go out to silicon the base one lah, that one cannot be done one ...' So I told him, yes I know I stay very high, I will not / dare not ask any one to go out to do such but since you are changing the flooring, shouldn't we solve the root issue, so that I won't come bother you again...

Told him to come see, he tell me he can draw out the area liao, don't need to see... sigh... (yes, he came once, before the window guy came down for 1st time rectification)

So after that he say will arrange for window guy to contact me....

Sigh... so I needed advice... anyone who has converted their balcony into living area has such issue before? Any one has any idea what went wrong? I wanted to make sure we solve this water seepage issue before they redo the flooring....

Thx :)

Yo, how you, long time no hear, still flying around often ah?

Seepage issue not solved yet. They were suppose to come yesterday but I can't make it, so will arrange another time. I heard they talking abt taking out 2 of the fixed window panel at the bottom so that they can silicon, so i'm quite happy :P . Wait till all finish then I'll update again. Henry mentioned that after the window issue is settled, then will do the flooring again... might not take out the affected one, just need to re-polished, not sure if that's good enough... will take one thing at a time lah :P

And btw, I also a few years to 40 leh... :P

Hi dmay!

just chance upon this and saw that your flat is exactly the same as my parents'. They are in your adjacent block.

Senja is nice isn't it? Too bad I moved out to Segar.

Your kitchen looks so nice, I have to show my mum. And my dad has been saying forever, that he wants to have a projector in the living room like yours. I think when they see your place, they will be even more tempted to renovate :D
