Which is more expensive? DIY job or just hiring a professional?

Depends on how good you are with DIY and how many professionals you need to hire to correct a bad DIY job if you get it wrong :P.

DIY will usually be cheaper as you are not paying for skilled labour but you are also not getting trade discount on materials.
