dcool 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2011 Hi Everyone,I need to seek opinion on the installation of the aircon system for my unit which i just bought. The problem is that the Bdrm 3 is across the living from Bdrm 2 and the MBR. So I have problem figuring the best A/C system to install for my unit. I need to install A/C in Bdrm 3, Living room and the MBR. Bdrm 2 is going to be my wardrobe and study so it doesnt really need a/c. Now my headache is that if i get system 3, will the installer be able to run the tubings across the living room or its it better to get a system 2 for the MBR and the living and then a System 1 or a window unit for Bdrm 3 ? I am not sure if its advisable to go for system 3 as the drain line from the Bdrm 3 will be too far away and sooner or later its going to get choked. Someone suggested using a pump to pull condensate water to the drain, which i thgt installing another item is pretty ugly and most likely it will may run dry as the condensate is not really alot. Another option is the install a stand alone window unit for Bdrm 3.I have not started my reno yet, and i hope to get the A/C fixed before i start the reno in Jun. I really hope to hear from flat owners who have similar layout and their suggestion on how to do it. Sorry it seems that i am not allow to embed image so here is the floor plan in the link below.Floor Plan
alan26 2 Report post Posted April 29, 2011 In my opinion, if cost is not an issue to you and insisting to have an aircon in the living room. I would suggest :For Bedroom 3: Window Unit. Your toilet is further away from toilet so water piping outlet for aircon would need to lay far.System 2: For MBR & Living Room. Since your living room needs a bigger BTU aircon, must as well get 2 bigger BTU for both your MBR and living room.Up to you to decide.
