I appreciate Derrick's initiative to reapply plastering on unsatisfactory walls. I was not aware until he mentioned.

30/June, Gain City guys came in the morning to install units. It was pouring so they came in late and Derrick was there to coordinate the installation too. I took full day leave to oversee and sign acknowledgement. Overall, it was average work. I noticed this Hitachi has powerful blower but less cooling efficiency

Brand: Hitachi system 3 inverter (12, 9, 9)

Damage: $3129 with portable iron and iphone sound dock

Then in the afternoon, two windows guys came to install the grills and get money from me of course. I had the luck to see how efficient they get them done in 30 minutes! Overall good

Who: My friend's contact

Damage: $1950

Down lights work done, but unsatisfactory as some lights are not straight, some not aligned and some plaster board dented. Derrick clarified that there will be second round of touch up. I chose all cool white light bulbs, can't wait to press the switches when they are up!

Central beam false ceiling has two down lights

Kitchen false ceiling. This is the reason Derrick recommend glass plated down lights, to diffuse the glare

Hi Bro,

Great looking place. Is the reno completed yet? anymore pics to share? Thanks very much.

Thanks bro. Yes today I managed to snap more pics..

5/July, doors varnished, the color darkened and looks better now

Glass partition bracket for master toilet installed

Mirrors are up too, notice the unavoidable clash of master toilet's mirror(no other way to place the basin) and windows. At least it is full length to the top. Mirrors are FOC by Derrick.

Common toilet mirror, standard 3 feet length

looking good man.. :)

Thanks bro..

Sorry for the non update. Recently I have been busy with work. And some problems with the reno as well.

There has been some delay on the carpentry works for about 2 weeks now. Derrick claimed that one of the two carpenters were down due to finger injury. And the reason of having just two is to maintain quality consistency. Well I hope I bought his story but anyway he gave me a $500 discount as compensation. And if the carpentry is still not up by this weekend, $1k compensation. So I am most or less OK. I just want to get it done without any quality compromise.

The thing about carpentry is that they fabricate all the stuff offsite and bring over just for installation. So to date I have no idea how it looks and where it was done. But maybe it is a good idea to ask him bring me down to the factory to see the progress. Is this a common practice?

12/July, iron gate is up

We think that the color scheme of the gate is terrible. It does not match our staircase tiles and main door at all. And it looks really old school, no modern feel. Do you agree?

I called Derrick up. Apparently he is so busy with his other 5 projects that he has not evaluated this and he also thought that my master toilet glass partition is already up when it was not. Getting mad and I asked him to think of a solution to this, either replace the gate or repaint it with a modernistic color. Maybe dark grey?
