san20sg 1 Report post Posted May 3, 2012 Hi All, Can you help me look through the items in the quotation from my contractor? I'm quite ok with the quotes except I think several items can be cheaper:1. I'm not sure if the quotes for the wall & floor tiles in the masonry works include the cost of the wall/floor tiles itself. If not, how much would it likely cost? 2. kitchen cabinets & kitchen top looks a little bit expensive. Can I negotiate on this?3. The window grilles & glass windows look expensive. Anyone has a recommendation for a more affordable contractor for this? Many thanks for your help!Item No. Description AmountDemolition work (includes clearance of debris) 1 To supply labour to hack existing floor tiles at service balcony, kitchen and 2 toilets. 2 To supply labour to hack existing wall tiles at kitchen and 2 toilets. 3 To supply labour to hack existing kitchen cabinets. $2,000.00 Masonry and Plastering work (includes supply of cement and sand) 4 To supply labour to lay new homogenous ceramic floor tiles (with water proofing) at kitchen. $1,000.00 5 To supply labour to lay new homogenous ceramic floor tiles (with water proofing) at service balcony. $500.00 6 To supply labour to lay new homogenous ceramic floor tiles (with water proofing) at common toilet. $700.00 7 To supply labour to lay new homogenous ceramic floor tiles (with water proofing) at master bedroom toilet. $700.00 8 To supply labour to lay new ceramic wall tiles at kitchen. $1,600.00 9 To supply labour to lay new ceramic wall tiles at common toilet. $1,750.00 10 To supply labour to lay new ceramic wall tiles at master bedroom toilet. $2,000.00 11 To supply labour to polish parquet flooring at 3 bedrooms. $500.00 12 To supply labour to polish marble flooring **** room and dining area. $500.00 Plumbing work 13 To replace exisiting water pipes for 2 toilets and kitchen to stainless steel pipes. $700.00 14 To install a toilet bowl@$80 each (materials not supplied). $160.00 15 To install a wash basin@$50 each (materials not supplied). $100.00 16 To install a water heater@$30 each (materials not supplied). $60.00 17 To install sink at kitchen. $50.00 Carpentry work 18 To construct a wardrobe at master bedroom, up to ceiling. $1,300.00 19 To construct kitchen cabinet with normal top (top and bottom). $3,400.00 Kitchen worktop 20 To construct solid kitchen work top with openings for sink and cooker. $1,200.00 Painting work 21 To supply painting work for whole house (Nippon/ICI) (inclusive of doors and door frames). $1,500.00 Gate/Grille/Door/Window 22 To supply and install glass windows at 3 bedrooms, kitchen and service balcony. san20sg 1 Report post Posted May 3, 2012 (edited) Hi All, I have clarified that the cost includes the tiles cost. Quite happy with it.I just need help on the carpentry works for the kitchen & kitchen top & windows & window grilles. The kitchen is quite large, l-shape, one side length about 3.8m & the other side length is about 2.8m. How much would this cost for top+bottom cabinets + kitchen top? I need a reasonable quotation for a good contractor for the windows & windows grilles. Would appreciate anyone's kind assistance to help out with this?? Many thanks!!!I do not know how to upload my old kitchen photos and floor plans. Those keen to give a quote can please email me llishan@hotmail.comThanks,Louise Edited May 8, 2012 by san20sg
