I shall source for another ID and make a comparison then, but sometimes its difficult to tell a real ID from a contractor as there are many contractors around stating that they are a interior design firm.

Is not that difficult to tell different between ID & contractor, actually by looking at the price you should know real ID film pricing not much different say about 1-2k different ba, but as for contractor the price is different by 3-5k.

but nevertheless between ID & contractor, i will rather use ID as i don't need to have much headache about handling the contractor, i just need to narrow down to 1 person. My 3cents worth of suggestion. hhehehe.

Maybe you would like to try one of the ID i had known ? as he had done up my house twice and my auntie current house, That i had recommended to her & she is quite happy with the works that they had done. Or maybe someone could tell me what's the average market rate of the items from ID not contractor. I.e full height wardrobe per ft run n kitchen cabinet per ft run , feature wall per ft run , The stuff that I listed above . Thanks

I went to compare my quote with a few in the forum, my capentry is indeed on the ex side but what I feel is that she did not charge me item by item for supplying of labor to install the accessories and piping/ sink/basin and also haulage.

Not so sure if this is justifiable. In a dilemma now..hehE.

Actually i feel hor... It also depends on the chemistry between you and the ID too. More chemistry = easier to communicate ma means can convey messages to him/her better also. Cuz i think so far the house owners i met and heard about all asked about site coordination and stuff. Important la... It is always good to have someone there to look after your reno rite? or at least a frequent update on the progress? Many other things count too like service quality, etc.

Oh and of cuz the workmanship. Better quality material and workmanship more ex lo. Apple to apple comparison theory as many would say.

Erm usually electrical works is also quoted de... at least for mine.

Dun dilemma this is part of the reno journey! Have fun dude!

Quotation looks reasonable. If you intend to use Solid Surface top check with you id what top he's using.

Another is the payment terms. For mine is usually like this. Gives more assurance for houseowners.

20% upon commencement of wet works

20% upon completion of wet works

20% upon measurement of carpentry works

20% upon completion of carpentry works

10% 7days after completion of project or rectification works if any
