Pros & Cons Of Direct Screeding Onto Existing Wall Tiles!

Same thing again... thinking of all sorts of ways to cut reno costs. I dun mind screeding onto existing kitchen and toilet wall tiles but what are the pros and cons of such method vs 1) Hack old wall tiles then lay new wall tiles and 2) Hack old wall tiles then screed onto bare wall.

Heard that cracks are common for screed walls but my major concern will be how "waterproof" will the toilet walls be if I am to do screeding.

Pls enlighten me. Thanks in advance.
