Looking For Contractor Recommendations And Renovation Tips

Hi all,

Just bought a 5 room resale HDB flat. 122sqm. Will be getting my keys probably late Mar or early Apr. However I will be going for a 3 weeks holiday late Apr thus thinking of starting the renovation in late May. Is it too early to contact contractors to request for quotes and stuff? Or should I wait for a little while more?

Flat is 30 years old. Should I do a overhaul of the electrical wires? What about water pipings?

Things that I am going to do or thinking of doing for the new house

Previous owner made an additional room using false walls so will need to tear them down.

Previous owner also knock down the wall to the storeroom to make a walk in wardrobe. Want to restore the storeroom.

Kitchen cabinets.

Painting of the whole house.

Toilets have just been overhauled by HDB for the Home Improvement Programme so no need to do anything.

Still thinking whether to re tile. Will have a look at it again before deciding.

Also thinking whether to make built in wardrobes and shoe racks.

How much would be a rough estimate for the things that I want to do? Did I miss out anything?

Any recommendations for places to get lights? Any particular brands?

Lastly, any recommendations for contractors?
