Everyone loves mirrors and every home loves them, big or small. When you think about home interior design, think mirrors. Mirrors can open up a space, create new light effects, reflect color, create the illusion of depth and can even double up for other uses. Using mirrors can be both creative and functional. I looked for unique wall mirrors and this is what I found.
Ironing Board Mirror
Found above left, this ironing board doubles up as a mirror. An interesting concept by designer Aïssa Logerot.
Interactive Mirror
This is a patent pending touch capable mirror conceptualized by Alpay Kasal. The interactive mirror features proximity sensors, gesturing, and both nearfield and farfield infrared.
Touch Screen MP3 Mirror
Stocco Maitre mirror has a touch screen console in the lower-right corner, offering easy programming and operation of radio, date, barometer, and an MP3 player so you can sing your heart out in the shower or while dressing out!
The Advertisement Mirror
This video shows that the mirror displays ads and changes into a mirror when a person is detected near it. Wow!
As you can see from this introduction on innovative mirrors, the possibilities for using mirrors to change appearances or enhance functionality are only limited by your creativity. A great way to get your mind working on new ideas is to take the time to really look at your home. Where could you hang a mirror or use mirrors to serve an additional purpose?
