Sited just beside lower pierce reservoir, today’s feature is an oasis of calm, the perfect place to retire to after a hard day’s work.

The living room is a welcomed respite from the blistering heat outside, thanks to the air conditioning and also the tasteful Spartan arrangement of the furniture, accentuating the wide space of the living room. The illusion of breathing space is very nicely complimented by the sound of running water coming through the windows, looking pass the soft grey curtains, one sees it gleaming over the mushroom granite wall. That, together with the simple distinct lines from the furniture culminates into an uncomplicated calm which predominates ones first impressions of the living room.

To the right, the plasma television blends nicely with the neat shelves housing the entertainment systems. Crystal ornaments adorn the display shelves and together with statues of the Buddha, reflects the owner’s personality.

The dining room lies just beside a zen styled koi pond and is lit in the day mainly by ambient light thus allowing for energy savings and it even gives the room a natural, healthy glow to it. At night, one is given the option of soft lighting thanks to the hidden lights behind the false ceiling, providing a romantic ambience or if one is particularly industrious, the spot lights could be on. This is generally so for most rooms.

Stepping outside the dining room, one encounters the full length koi pond stretching from the living room to the dining room. The cascading water flows off the marbled granite wall and into the pond above which stands a strong slab of glass which allows you to stand on and observe the denizens below, not unlike standing atop a frozen lake. A perfect set up for meditation or quiet contemplation.

Now the bathroom, what can I say. Presenting the latest showering technology has to offer – a full body, jet shooting,spa\massager all wrapped up in sleek, cool metal.This is the zenith of the evolution of the showerhead, the
 showersystem all young showerheads aspire to be. The  various knobs allow the personalization of the pressure and  temperature as well as the speed of  the gattling water jets which shoot out from both above  and towards the bather.

 Stepping into the kitchen, one is greeted by a pleasantly  sobering atmosphere perhaps designed for the discipline  of  culinary industry. The white walls and floors  illuminates the  room with ambient light. Together with  the metallic fridge and  other kitchen appliances, they  contribute to the clean and  almost clinical look about the  place emphasizing a sense of  hygiene. The brown  wooden cabinets softens the atmosphere  with some  good, wholesome homeliness and the balance  between  the two is skillfully harmonized by the designer

The master bedroom is massive- containing both the bedroom, a small room as a wardrobe and a study cum leisure pad replete with another plasma television and a mini fridge stocked with Bailey’s. The designer had the parquet floor stained walnut according to the owner’s wishes and it contrasts nicely with the walls to give a vintage classiness about it when the foot rest and sleek display table are considered.

Turning to the bedroom itself, one just can’t help but notice a sensual glow about it. Looking pass the silken wall of black lace which guards the chamber entrance, the low lying bed sits atop a raised wooden platform, raised like a pedestal. To enter the chamber one has to ceremoniously climb the 3 steps and pass through the silken black wall and then up the platform again to the white sheets, all this while with Kenny G playing from a sleek, tall standing sound system. It brings about a sacredness of the chamber: the atmosphere magical, almost religious. Eros would be most proud.

To conclude, coming here was quite an experience for my colleague and I. We were quite awed by the designer Leonard’s ability to evoke such emotions from tastefully placed furniture and carefully chosen colour themes. It doesn’t take much to build a house but to make one feel like a home, it takes a special kind of guy.
