true, HDB is very particular abt weight loading and hacking of supportin beams. So they may not allow. There's something similar that should be ok. It's basically one layer of thin cement, then they add some colouring and making some pattern to make it look like real brick. It's actually a form of overlaying, not sure what's the name for it. U'll often see this on HDB covered walkways or park floor.

I had a similar crap from SH as well. SH says cannot turn on for entire block coz haven't reached a certian level of occupancy. If want them to come activate, then need to pay XX$. I will wack that into the hole to test whether it's a metal bar or just stone. If it's stone, then wipe your sweat and continue drilling. If metal bar then no choice, u have to shift your hole position. if u can hit 2cm depth, I think u can stop and wack a wall plug in to fix your stuff. wrought iron quality had deteriorated over the years. By right it should be galvanised to prevent rust, then painted to the desired colour. But nowadays starting to see rusted wrought iron gates.. your case might be the wrought iron are rusty already, then they paint it without first removing the rust. That's why rusting started from inside and bubbles out. And also another sign is that the paint doesn't stick well to rusted surface. if they redo, it's better that they dismantle it and dip in some rust removing solution. Otherwise if just sand like that sure miss out some parts... then rusting starts at those parts.

SH activate the blocks by batches. U can call them to check when is the next round of activation. If u can't wait and want immediate activation, can do like blurer23 did, ring and pay.

those prefab HDB are just like making cake, mix everything together and then pour into a mould to harden. During mixing bound to introduce bubbles. U can ask HDB to plaster them for you.

to be frank, i see the meeting quite useless. Supplier meet tiler so what, no one can exert the authority to force the other party to comply and rectify the problem. So what if supplier lost the arguement, will he pay for rehacking, NO! So what if tiler lost, he won't pay either. You should try to drag HDB into the pic.

Usually pple will drill, then hammer a plastic thingy into the wall (to hold the screw more securely), then finally screw in. 1) what is the size of the drill bit to use for drilling? 2) what's the official name of that plastic screw holder thingy. 3) I've seen slightly different designs, different colour (red, green) of that plastic holder.
