  1. Hi, I need to replace my bathroom wash basin, which is currently partially set into my vanity top. I have some questions about the replacement, can someone please help me here? Qn 1) Is it possible to remove the existing wash basin without replacing the vanity top? Or would I need to replace both the wash basin and the vanity top, or even the cabinet altogether? Qn 2) I've heard that it is also possible to use a floor standing cabinet to replace my wall-mount cabinet, but as the height from my floor to the bottom of the mirror is 83cm, I'm told that I would need to use silicon to glue the wash basin to my mirror. Does anyone know what kind of side effect this might have. Is the installation more expensive than normal and why? Qn 3) If I need replace the vanity top, does anyone has any recommendation on where I can find replacement for the entire cabinet plus a new top-mount basin? I have tried Hoe Kee but it doesn't seem to have many top-mount cabinets (in fact I only see 1). Qn 4) If it is possible to only replace the vanity top and I can buy a new top-mount basin, must the vanity top be custom-made by a contractor or something? Any one know the price for this? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

  6. Hehe.. good good.. think Shanghai also hav a lot of beautiful lights.. but price might be slightly exp than Guangzhou.. then again.. compare to singapore price.. any light you bot there will be worthwhile.. Orh.. one more thing, if ur sis only will stay at Shanghai for a short while, then better settle the lights within the first few days.. coz a lot of lights are not off-the-shelf products.. the shops need to make the order to the factory first which takes at least 5-7 days...
  7. I got it from China... custom-made.. the original is too big for my area..
  8. Hehe.. Thank you... Here are some more pics abt the lights.. hv moved in for 2 weeks.. still got some minor touch up here and there.. hopefully can finish everything before X'mas.. will post more pic after everything is ready.. 9. I bot them at 31 Jurong East street. There are quite a few lighting shops oppo the chinese garden MRT. I forgot the name of the shop which i bot those downlights from. It is not the one that recommended in this forum. The shop that i bot from is pretty small. I bot from it becoz of the price.. end up my electrical guys complains abt the T5 i bot from the shop.. connection not good.. I think many lighting shops got sell this kind of "square downlights".. I saw it in blastier and the Chinese garden light shop (the one that recommended by the forum one.. occupied 2 shops' space).. Hv oredi replied ur PM.. hmm.. ah.. I dun hv any white acrylic lights ah..
  10. Hi mivec2.4, might i ask.. does 'PLC' mean down light? That is how i refer them to the ID... yeah.. i know.. hubby's taste... it looks better in the show room.. will put a pic of it when the down lights and T5 are on... think looks better..

  13. Thanks for the tip.. they are very useful.. Finally moved into the hse.. still got quite a lot of 'defects' or things that have to rush the designer though.. but anyway.. here are some of photos for the new hse.. Enterance.. Dinning room Look from the enterance Corridoor The main light was not up.. so the above pic is not very bright with only down light and L box..
  14. hehehe.. hmm... i am thinking to buy some soft mat to put on it.. Hubby's nephew v v naughty.. must take precaution measure..
  15. orh.. u reply very fast.. hehe.. thanx.. a bit scared that it will hv scatch on it... alth it is piano paint.. supposely more resistent to scatch.. but still.. a bit scare leh... but it looks so nice..the actual table looks even nicer than on the photo.. and feel very very smooth and shiny... v tempting.. so finally bot it...
  16. Dinning table that i bot.. piano paint on compressed wood... v heavy.. got 90KG.. 1.8m * 0.9m.. hmm.. will hv problem to move it around later.. nice nice??
  17. hmm.. singapore lights mostly also comes from 'zhong shan' if you ask the seller.. haa.. hmm... but indeed.. need to be very careful when you choosing the lights.. Here are some of lights that i bought... Living room crystal ceiling lights.. Stainless steel base with crystal balls surrounded by 'light stick' .. might not be able to see the crystal balls.. it is saucer-liked crystal in the center now.. i asked them to change all to crystal ball.. Dinning room lights.. Wall Lamp.. 'yun shi' "cloud stone".. dun know how to translate.. haha..
  18. hehehe... i hvn't confirmed any of the lightings.. I hope i can make sure all the lights in the hse are good match before i confirm any of them... These are a few lights i saw today for my dinning room.. Crystal lights for dinning.. I like this light.. it is made of Acraylic.. v heavy.. but afraid it does not match with my living room crystal light.. This is the spiral light.. sorry for the lousy photo.. hubby took the photo 'secretly'.. haa...
  19. hmm... it roughly equals to S$40... (i am at china now.. ) but I hvn't confirmed to buy it yet... Today went to 'zhong shan'.. it is a place in china that is famous for its lightings... heard that 60% of the lightings in the world comes from 'zhong shan gu zhen' 中山古镇.. Saw quite a lot of lightings today... Some of them are sooooooooooooo grand... sooooooo nice that I think only hotels.. big big hotel lobbies can take those huge lightings.... hmm.. but it is good to "open my eyes" oso.. haa.... For my own lightings, din filter much thou.. probably most of the lights there are those crystal chandeliers, which doesn't really fit my living room.. ai... Saw a nice crystal ceiling light which hanging from the ceiling and drop till the floor kind.. the crystal balls spiral down to the floor... it looks very nice.. and the price is very nice too.. roughly equals to S$3000.. coz it is made of Egyptian crystal and is 3-meter in length... way out of my budget.. I am going to some more places these few days to see more lights.. hopefully can find the lights i want...
  20. saw this light today.. how is it? any comment? am thinking of putting it in MBR.. It is made of fabricated goat skin...
  21. Quick quick.. need to rush for plane tml.. actually wee hours in the morning.. before that.. quick quick post the latest progress.. False ceiling is done.. Platform is done.. ID said got border around the platform is nicer.. and can have better linkage between platform and floor tiles... really?? hmm.... Air con trunking .. used to be a big hole there.. MBR parquet has been vanished.. there is still another layer of coating later.. ID said this color tone looks nice.. got foreign style... Me and hubby ok lah.. think it is much better than the original glossy finishing.. (feels a bit oily to us..)
  22. The ID said teh ex owner must hv plastered the wall and painted a few times.. so now the paint on the wall are very thick.. after removing the original false ceiling, the upper part of the wall has little paint.. so he must use a lot of cement to fill up the gap .. And there are some pieces of old false ceiling stick on the wall oso.. he need to remove those and smoothen the gap.. So he charge additional 800 (!!) bucks for the extra work... I was a bit shocked when i look at the number.. Is it really so exp for the whole hse wall?
  23. Still in office.. waiting for hubby to finish his work.. post some photos... Cables.. More Cables... Big big chunking.. how to install mirror there???!!! can see the icon inside liao... reach the beam liao.. oops... This side is wrong.. should be at the opposite side of the wall...!!! Common toilet shower pipe Aircon chunking under the beam.. so must box up.. will it make it very low??? hmm.. Water pipe in kicthen
