I went to the house at 6.40pm just now and they were still working. There are 5 of them now and two of them were filling the grout lines in the newly tiled toilets. YUP the toilets are complete. The other three were tiling the living and the bedrooms. It does look like the tiling will complete at the end of tomorrow. I didn't take pictures as there were so many people walking around and I didn't want to block anyone. So I left quickly.

mm ya but we bought all our furniture brand new because our old ones are all breaking down and cannot be moved to the new place. 4 sets of bed frames/wardrobes/study tables ... buying everything brand new is no joke.. lol Anyway only mom watches TV and she agrees that she doesn't need an LCD, so we will leave that aside first. Maybe when my next bonus comes in then buy. But thanks for the recommendations. Maybe when the next Sitex come ard I will be able to buy. True to colour! It's THAT red. haha Maybe they do but daren't say because we're the owners after all. But my mom and I didn't mean to just stand there and stare but it was really amazing how he shaped the tile to fit around the pipe. We complimented him later. We always buy them drinks and snacks so I hope they don't find us too much of a bother.

Mm I didn't lay parquet this time but my previous house had quite a bit.. From what I know "drying" time is about 2 days. But You're not doing parquet for the whole house right? Which means work can still continue in places like your kitchen/common toilet and hall area. Tiles also need about a day to set properly so there isn't much difference there. So you're starting before completion? That's good. That'll save some time and you can get it done before CNY. It'll be much harder to get anything done during the CNY period when the workers go home.. Mmm My friend's 3 room reno completed in 2 and half weeks. My 5 room is due to complete in 4 weeks. With the right person, I do think you can complete before CNY. If you don't... work will stop for a week or two during that season....

Yes! I'm quite impressed by the workers' patience really. They spend so many hours squatting there, spreading the cement, then carefully knocking the tiles in place. My mom and I was mesmerised, watching one of them at work. They must think we're mad people who don't have to work.

mm did you try to measure it yourself? HDB is slightly more than 8ft. like mine. if you live on top floor it'll definitely exceed. maybe some flats will exceed ba for all levels ba you should try to measure to see what he says is true? then if he really is going to make your wardrobes so high (all the way to ceiling) then I guess it does justify the "small" increase.
