  10. Hacking of flooring n wall tiles is jus like removing the skin of a hse... No need P.E. submission... If wan to remove bones (hack wall panels), definately must consult P.E., get it stamped then can apply... Now HDB only reconised tad stamp of P.E....

  13. Backsplash is the upturn at the backing on the worktop surface, against the wall,.. The story goes..... This backsplash design is introduced during the late 80's. Before tad, ppl used angular PVC capping to cover the ugly back joinings of table top at kichen cabinets. (At then, work top is flat w/o any profiles) Tis PVC tends to peel off, deformed due to intense heat near cooking area, water can sip through the joints, too many cons... One fine day, a smart engineer came out wif an idea... "Y not combine these 2 items?" Haha, new product is invented... Work top with backslash using postforming method! Tis product is design in the way to cover up the ugly joinings between worktop n wall, n also to prevent water from sipping through the gaps... We, the end users, use this 'design' happily ever after... (Nice short story?) *Hope my story have ans ur QN ar....
  14. Urs is PVC or cast iron pipes? Scraping can be done on cast iron pipes... Maybe can try sanding method on PVC... 16. Dun get it wrong... To apply permit is by getting all relevant docus for applications, done by HDB licensed contractors. To hack any walls, u need P.E. stamped docus, means they viewed n approved the hacking works. Tis is part of the relevant docus needed by contractors to apply for permits... These r 2 different issues.... the contractor told me if i want him to apply permit from hdb to hack my storeroom i need to pay him extra $200 to do so. how come? want to hack my storeroom without permit? Fyi, P.E. stamp will cost at least $500...
  17. Plastering is the only way to cover the rockstones... Of cos its lasting, jus like cement screeding on walls...

Any idea how much they'll quote for additional cabinet PFR leh???
  20. Its too gd to be true... How abt the affected wall tiles at bath tub areas? Did the contractor view the site? Wat if there no floor tiles beneadth the bath tub, meaning it was build b4 laying of floor tiles previously... Tis will affect the water proofing if bath tub was hacked... Look into details b4 commenting...
  21. U measure the distance between wall n the bowl's outlet(the entrance where ur 'products' lands)... See the 2 bowls got any difference in dimension anot... Only scare they anyhow install the bowls w/o using "offset" if needed (bcs of poor supervising of site, workers might have hard feelings towards supervisor, then they anyhow do...) Water spooling might occur, below ur unit, due to improper installation of toilet bowl... Then u get nightmares... If u dun understand, can PM me for my contacts, over the phone, i'll try explain to u better...
