no. Not all fire rated. I dunno how HDB access the distance. The staircase landing to my current unit is about the same distance as my previous unit to the staircase yet this current unit has fire rated door fitted by HDB but they deemed it unnecessary for my previous unit.

ya, definitely should be able to rectify the crack tiles and chip. Confirm marble flooring?

we collected the keys on 1st appt and reno started about a week later due to some hiccups on the reno permits. Moved in way before 2nd appt. yes, there are always concern when u proceed with reno before 2nd appt as there are some instances whereby the sales did not pull thru and 'buyers' had to forgo the renovation (completed reno). If reno is half way done then sellers expect buyers to restore back the flat to original state. Anyway, this is the worst scenario that can happen. For us, we ensure that the in principle approval for the sales pull thru first (usually can be reassured when the sales is published in the resale transaction)...must also confirm that the sellers can sell their flats i.e completed the min occupation period, not a bankrupt, if its divorce case then make sure its finalised, etc. Can be really stressful so try to avoid getting into such situation unless no choice.

I called up the area office itself. Alternatively, u can go down to check with them personally or even email to them. Nowadays, they're quite particularly about service quality so they would reply to emails.

water proofing would be done by the workers so no worries to that.

not sure about the distance but my former flat was very near lift lobby and staircase but HDB didnt change fire rated door. Called them and they did a check with my unit number and said flat not facing staircase (actually just beside) so no need fire rated door.

yes, it can be removed for cleaning.

that was my concern but $$$ was more important for us so we kept the bath tub. No choice but to climb in and out for our showers but its been a month since we moved in and we are used to it now. As for slippery and dangerous, its can be minimized by placing a piece of non-slip rubber mat inside the tub. Hubby bought it and our kids also climb in and out so its ok. We didnt scrub after each shower and I clean it during the weekends. We merely used a shower curtain.

well, it depends on your budget. U'll need to re-do the wall tiles and flooring (as well as waterproofing) once u hack the bath tub as usually the area underneath and beside the bath tub is bare and without floor or wall tiles. Initially I wanted to hack away the existing bath tub in the MBR bathroom of my resale flat but due to budget constraints we opted to retain it.

since its a small part, maybe u can try to use the magic block to clean the stain.

hello88 replied to windz's topic in Home Maintenance & Repairs
ya, me too. The mold would become black and nothing can remove it. Tried Duck cleaner and Mr Muscle but it can only clean about 10% of the mold and UNLESS one clean it from day 1. -

congrats! for the rest still trying, dont give up....keep trying nOtHiNg Is ImPoSsiBlE! one of my ex col finally became a mother when she was in her late 30s or early 40s..She managed to conceive naturally after she went thru 3 cycle of IVF successfully but each time it was terminated with a miscarriage. She was told that she'll not be able to conceive naturally so went thru the IVFs. After the last miscarriage, she was so dishearten that both husband and wife gave up trying then it happened. So nOtHiNg Is ImPoSsiBlE!!! -
black ones? I yet to see black ones around. Anyway, I bought mine (white) from neighborhood shops. I've another blue one that comes with sponge/or cushioning but I cant recall where I got it from..could be from Metro or Kiddy Palace or Mothercare. That's more than 6 years ago.

there are instances whereby some sellers would not hesitate to cause damage to the fixtures and floorings. When the seller vacated the unit (private property) for a close relative of mine....they used something very sharp to damage the parquet flooring...they literally 'create' a 'drain' right across the entire room. It was as deep as the track of hdb sliding windows.
