  1. Is this model $800 plus now?? for the price its a gd buy!! Used to be much more ex... But be prepared for long, i mean very long drying time.
  2. Hi adrian, The new homecare package has already hit the stores. Currently displaying in Ck Tang and Best denki ngee Ann. This is what the showroom ladies told me yesterday. $3998 for both. Ewf 14991 is the high-end electrolux made in Italy. Features wise, the homecare I think is much better than the previous activecare. But even activecare is sold out due to the price. So I think the homecare series is really worth buying,.. U can download the specs from above, its really like the specs from the miele w4446 @ $4k. with delay start, pillows, curtains, silks, downs, lingerie as extra... Cool! Condensers generally condense the moist warm air to water, so its ideal if ur place is not properly ventilated. Vented dryers are cheaper but drying results may not be as even as condensors and also it may cause ur walls to sweat after some time.
  3. Hmm,, nice contribution... I just hope ur comments are backed up by facts. Actually I have read and known from a lont time that Choice magazine, aust consumer's rights magazine has awarded the "shonkiest" award to LG for water guzzling and electrical consumption. Ref :http://www.smarthouse.com.au/Appliances/Laundry/K5V7V6D6 I do not want to post all these because some other interested forumners who have been eyeing for these 2-in -1s might get stumped by the low reception from consumer bodies around the world. And for the fact its been 2 yrs on, so the models might actually have improved. But it's quite amazing u perceived a miele are NOT environmentally friendly??? A 6kg condensor dyer uses 3.6kw per hr for a cottons drying cycle. A 6 kg washer uses 1.02kw for a 60deg cottons wash cycle. Erm,, in actual fact, the most efficient dryer in the market are only produced by Miele and a high-end model of electrolux. which uses heat-pump technology. "Because technologically, they had not progress much" When Miele invented the honeycomb drum, they obtained the patent to 2018,. It revolutionalise the way people think of washing machiones. Just a machine that washes clothes? Or a machine that takes care of ur clothes. Do I need a 10 kg washer that supposed washes in 45 min? Or a 6 kg washer that takes 90 min but ensures my clothes lasts 4 times longer. Hmm.. U say u can't imagine british endorsing miele? Oh a click on the net will tell u Miele won the Which?? magazine, Best Domestic apliances brands for the 2nd yr running, winning 22 best buys. In case u did not know, which? mag is a highly regarded independant body supported by the british govt for consumer's rights in the UK. No endorsements or whatsoever, so no pretence. Hmmm... try asking the millions of british, australians, and the readers of reader's digest why the **** do they want a washer that lasts 20 yrs, when they can't even put in the front of the house and showcase them. They even love them so much there is a website dedicated to miele reviews in the UK.http://www.foreverbetter.co.uk/ Any case, thks for ur feedback..
  4. And Mr Bullwrath, I think as a researcher,I know u r referring to Gaggenau when u r saying what the celebrities are using!! I love Gaggenau. Its carried by BSH in sg, which means bosch included. A pity they don't make washers, except bosch. Does that make u a bosch salesman? Hmm this is a quote from wired magazine featuring an interview with Steve jobs, Apple founder.http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/4.02/jobs_pr.html But its quite long, his quote on miele during a question by an interviewer, Is there anything well designed today that inspires you? Design is not limited to fancy new gadgets. Our family just bought a new washing machine and dryer. We didn't have a very good one so we spent a little time looking at them. It turns out that the Americans make washers and dryers all wrong. The Europeans make them much better - but they take twice as long to do clothes! It turns out that they wash them with about a quarter as much water and your clothes end up with a lot less detergent on them. Most important, they don't trash your clothes. They use a lot less soap, a lot less water, but they come out much cleaner, much softer, and they last a lot longer. We spent some time in our family talking about what's the trade-off we want to make. We ended up talking a lot about design, but also about the values of our family. Did we care most about getting our wash done in an hour versus an hour and a half? Or did we care most about our clothes feeling really soft and lasting longer? Did we care about using a quarter of the water? We spent about two weeks talking about this every night at the dinner table. We'd get around to that old washer-dryer discussion. And the talk was about design. We ended up opting for these Miele appliances, made in Germany. They're too expensive, but that's just because nobody buys them in this country. They are really wonderfully made and one of the few products we've bought over the last few years that we're all really happy about. These guys really thought the process through. They did such a great job designing these washers and dryers. I got more thrill out of them than I have out of any piece of high tech in years. And for ur info, miele fans other than steve jobs are donald trump, david beckham, wayne rooney, if i care to mention. And nearer to home, last i known, miele entered into competiton with gaggenau for the sentosa cove condo projects for built in appliances. Develpers like Ho Bee grp for the waterfront, azure, the berth, and so forth all chose miele kitchens in the end..And Actually the point is not a competition. I love Gagennau, de dietrich, sub zero. Just that for washers, I think miele is really a cut above the rest. If u think something else is more value for money, start a thread, give info, recommendations. Do u really need to rub sarcasm into my true intentions?
  5. Actually, I dint quite understand u.. U sound like the previous forumner i spoke with, but at least he had some concrete objectives. Im just providing info on the brand, latest models, accurate info etc. If it helps some ppl that's great. If not, then this might not be a right thread. But anyway, in case I disapoints u, I'm not a sales person, just a white goods person n lover of quality products. In case u did not know, there are alot of forums overseas which discuss objectively on gd products to have, n numerous reviews on miele, most are positives. So if me , or any forumners love miele, we must be a miele salesman? n pardon, if its too expensive for some, no matter what I say, it won't change their opinions of not buying them rite? N the info I've given are all dwelved from other websirtes, so its not a claim, but info that i pilfered from, that matters. N for that matter, if lets say, I'm a miele salesman and I'm trying to sway fellow forumners views, it's precisely the forums objectives, sharing knowledge and experiences. I've never been personal against anybody or any brands, directly in all my postings. I've even recommended some other brands if budget exceeds expectations. But it seems u and the previous forumner had an agenda against me, or ppl who think that splurging $$ on miele are wrong. And lastly, Miele does not have a board of directors. Its a family company since 1899. The only other white goods brand i Know that maintains this status quo is liebherr, which produces great fridges.!! That's all!
  6. It's already out. Maybe next week they will put in the stores already i think.
  7. Hi joecwj, I'm glad u enjoyed the info. Yup the regular models are quite ex, that's why i tried to get some snoops on offer packages from them and resend my info over here!! Haha it depends on which side of the coin u flipped at, some ppl may think it as a value buy, some might think it as an extravagrance... In any case, its just a reference point for serious miele buyers here. Anyway do check out the homecare series. Its really gd, from a specs point of view.!
  8. Hi Adrian, gd choice. The next model is a better model, with a more comprehensive washing programs. Its virtually like the $4k w4446 model just with a 14000rpm, as compared to w4446 with 1600rpm. The great news is that the new homecare package is similar priced @ $3998 without free vacuum. I already checked with the lady at ck tang, the last disp set for activecare is sold out!!
  9. If u want to wash king size duvets, better get a top loader! Even a 10kg machine is not meant to wash king size comforters, although they can be fitted in. It will give u problems very soon. Whereas an asian or american top loader are not geared towards gentle laundry care but bulky loads so I guess a top loader will suit u more! If u like big loads, a G.E top loader is not too bad! More durable than asian brands.
  10. Hi Moonlit, A new Miele package has been launched!! The activecare package has been sold out in sg, and the new package seems to be a better value for money deal, as it comprises the features of the active care as well as the high-end miele w4446 model. http://www.miele.com.sg/media/haushalt/VG_...ecare_V10_8.pdf The homecare series retailing $3998 as a package! Or individually the washer W1730 can be purchased at $2880 while the T7780C condensor dryer can be purchased @ $2980. Its unlike the activecare where u can only buy as a package!
  11. Hi, Best denki ngee ann city, if I'm not wrong! Cheers.
  12. Wally, Best denki offer the best coverage for extended warranty, 10% for 5 yrs. For eg i bought my miele activecare w1740 plus t7740 condenser package @ $3888 at ngee ann best denki. For the gss, they give away a miele vacuum cleaner, made in germany, no less worth $488. Foe 5 yrs extended warranty, u only need to pay $388. But i chose not to buy extended warranty. If u want to go for extended warranty, comparing the terms and coverage of harvey and best denki, i think best denki offers better. U can check out the comparisons by going to both stores. Cheers.
  13. Hi, Gaara, how is the w4446 doing? I love the functions, but the design does not allow it to be stacked on a dryer unfortunately. I got the miele activecare washer plus dryer @ $3888 for a set at ngee ann best denki. Though I love miele, I can't bear to part over $4k for just the washer, so i opt for the activecare series. I believe u must enjoy the quality of ur laundry from the w4446 haha!
  14. I agree!! There are really unprofessional sales promoters out there, unfortunately.. However this is the norm nowadays, even overseas. You should really do ur homework first, surf the net for info, decide what are the qualities u want, budget allocation.. etc.. The reality right now is that electrical stores can't have staff well-versed in each products specs and thus, the best way, and cost effective way is to place promoters from different brands across the stores. In a gd way, u can check out promoters from different brands, and see who makes sense. Then do ur homework before deciding. I check out forums on the net. Although most reliable forums are overseas based, I just read them to get more info. For eg; www.moneysavingexpert.com from aus is quite good. www.which.co.uk is an independant review forum base in uk. In sg; this forum, u can read reviews too sporadically. www.singaporebrides.com is gd too. Finally, i do in depth searches on the brands, models etc... when I go best denki, harvey, dealers, I will specifically ask to speak to the promoters of the different brands. I have so far spoken to most brands promoters already, haha! Gd luck..
  15. Hi, I just replied to u . Sorry been overseas and busy. They are great, Smeg, italian sleekiness...
  16. Hmm. Ur info is very accurate indeed. Liebherr makes great fridges, and its factory is in Austria. Yes it produces for Miele, same technology with the mastercool system. But the miele uses better material and looks sleeker. But, a liebherr is sure value for money, and its great- looking too!! You won't go wrong with one.
  17. That particular model s4212 parquet should be $478/=. There are some promos now with free accessories for the GSS. Gd luck!
  18. this model when the water runs out u need to let it rest for a while before continueing.. theres a better model frm karcher but i forgot the model number.
  19. Some other reasons y i feel Miele is value for money!! Check out the rose washing videos.
  20. Maybe for the benefits of myself, the positives, the lifespan it has served me, the assurance my "expensive" clothes won't tear in the washer, the ease of use, and the excellent guarantee that for 20yrs after end of production of any products, there will be spares available, I deemed it Not Expensive! This is my personal views and its for the purpose of exchanging views and thoughts that I posted for the relevance of others. My thoughts and comments are not a penal code. If it helps some readers, thats great as I served my objectives. If its of no relevance to some, I'm sorry for taking the time to read. Maybe u r in the wrong thread.Of course, miele wouldn't be miele if its cheap and available everywhere. If u feel otherwise, I respect your choices and views but pls don't slam others. Actually for most of ur questions and arguments, Ive really answered or try my best to answer in my threads already. I said there are some models from miele on promotion which is a great buy, compared to the regular models. and to some readers who feel miele is out of their reach, I recommended some alternative brands which is not too bad, at least in my personal opinions. But you come out and say, No, Miele not worth it for the price, electrolux no good, bosch no good. Ya Lg is the better brand compared to all. I don't have a vendetta, at least not against you or any other brands. But do you??
  21. Hi moonlit, pardon for the late reply. No, u dun need a hot water connection as miele has an internal heater in the washer itself.
  22. Hmm. What I'm saying is this, to keep it plain and simple, as to benefits other readers. with references to ur articles,Miele is making it such that all the top dollar must only go to them . Miele only repairs their products by themselves. Isn't that the case in Sg with regards to most brands?? as u said I pay top dollar for my miele, I will want them to repair. No relevance. 1). Why is the warranty only 1 year then? Well Miele advertises universally their products lasts for 20 yrs, I'm just endorsing my belief on their quality. They never gave 20yrs warranty. In Uk they packaged with 7yrs warranty ,with additional taxes. Similarly in US, 10yrs. It depends on them. I queried with them when they first came over on the disparity on warranties given between countries, but I could not get the answer as well, but I figured maybe the market is too small in sg. I could not argue, as most brands either give 1 or 2 yr warranties. However pl do take note, lets say a w1714, u buy in the Us with 10 yr warranty compared to a w1714 u buy here with 1 yr warranty, they are both made in germany from the same factory. Is the Sg one that u bought inferior in quality?? Of course everyone will be happier if its 20 yrs warranty, but even rolls rioyce don't give u 20 yrs warranty. Its just a claim from them, their belief, their promise, that their products lasts that long! Its up to u to believe it. Btw my old miele lasts only 17 yrs! 2)What happens after one year. If a problem crops up, is it cheaper to repair than ordinary machines? Do I save there? I can't answer that question for u. But for a fact, yes, german parts are more expensive than cheap parts. a suspension from miele is around $500, the last I'm quoted. In any case, Miele has been proven to be the brand that require least repairs, according to Which? consumer mag. I started this thread for the purpose of telling, informing, sharing my love and facts about Miele. And also to my believe that its not really expensive if U buy the right models or during promotional times. and with the quality I belief its better than changing a cheap machine every few yrs.Whether U believe me, subscribe to the belief, is ur choice. U can argue that No, now miele spoils after 1 yr, and we can argue till the cows are back, and it don't prove a point. 3) Say a $1000 washer needing a $800 repair. Will that owner feel worse than a Miele owner needing an $800 repair. If any machines spoilt, nobody feels gd, regarless of the price. But a Miele, at least to me, duravility is part of their promise!! This I respect. The gentleness and quality to the washing is just another part of the package, which me, as well as many users, consumer magazines, reviewers likewise, appreciates and love! But if u don't, I respect u for ur choices and reasons. To cap it off, I believe in anything u buy, there are bad experiences to go with gd experiences as well. There must have been a Miele user somewhere that feels the quality is not worth the prices, and there are users like me, who feels they are worth any penny spent. I won't go around criticizing a BMW owner that a toyota can get u anywhere and is reliable, why spurge on a BMW? Its a consumers choice after all!
  23. Oh this is supposedly the higher end of bosch featuring the variosoft drums that are gentler on clothes. However I;m not sure of its effectiveness, even samsung came out a diamond drum. But even as manufacturers fought, only miele has the invention and patent to the honeycomb drums, till 2018.http://http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modul...le&sid=1410 However the particular bosch model is decent enough, made in Germany, 8kg and a gd rpm. If to decide or compare with the higher end electrolux which emphasises on jet-wash technology, its a tough call. See which features you prefer, that will be my call.
  24. Haha I think after u spent a bomb on them, u must loved them!!Guiltily, I only owned the washer, dryer, vacs and oven. I love to have their dishwasher but there are only 2 persons in my house. I moved around too often to beautify it. But my aunt's place in melbourne has a whole kitchen full of mieles. Haha the roses. Seriously, the thought never crossed my mind when i went marketing. Not a single rose available. Must keep this in mind.
