From my understanding, it is due to overloading. I guess most of us gets stressed up when overloaded. I also heard some negative comments but don't want to post it here. Uncle did mentioned that if aircon installed after the window+grille, there is possiblity of damaging them, so do take note. If you compressor is already installed, then should be fine. The aircon guy will not be patching up the cut cornices if you have. They will leave it to the main contractor. So main con must be there to tie up the loose end after air con is installed. I was told by my aircon contractor that they need the owner, main con to be around during installation.

My first impression of him is also good and I told him my outstanding job, he immediately make phone call to the people. Very prompt, kudos. I hope he will keep it up. My first impression of Jason was also very good but subsequent follow up not too good.

Yes he is Ah Tan, not Ah Seng. I understand no contractor can do without some problems. I do not have problem talking to him face to face and he seems friendly as well. Maybe today woke up on the wrong side of the bed. As I know from this saturday onwards, he will cease to work for uncle, maybe that cause some stress. I have to admit Im alittle hot temper today. The "Liang teh" not effective yet. For lights, I bought all my lights with bulbs (except 1). I do not mind the electrical workers loose one or two bulbs but have the integrity to admit it.

I was very impressed then and was thinking can introduce him to my friends. Maybe now since he will not be working for uncle anymore so that's why the change in attitude. Workmanship-wise so-so not very impressive though. Have to rectify many times. The recent case of lumping all the lighting (except kitchen) for the MCB minus some points. The issue with the missing bulbs also minus some points. Another thing I asked was on the MCB why he gave me the lower rate ampere type. He told me he bought it last time. Now I understand why my lights tripped.

Yes the elect guy is Ah Tan who is also quitting. I have just spoken to him and has a small argument regarding my bulbs. He has asked me to do the installation myself, just screw the bulbs in. I wanted to find out where are the bulbs that I bought. He mentioned either don't have or in the room, ask me go and find. In the end, he admitted using one of the bulb for the storeroom, the other one missing. For the mcb, he just reroute to another. I really feel the change in attitude. That's why I am trying to find out if can get Inspector to certify the electrical work. Unfortunately Joseph is not familiar with electrical and ask me to talk to Ah Tan instead. Sorry for not updating regularly, was ill recently maybe because rushing everyday. How's your reno coming along, HO soon?

A little update Told half day leave for HO yesterday but did not get the keys yet. Waiting from 1 till 4.30pm before the plumping and carpentry guys appeared. Was quite shocking to hear that Jason is not working for Uncle anymore. That's why he is not picking up calls. Now Joseph take over and new HO will be this Friday. Went back to check again at 8pm and the worker just left. Plumber job was not fully completed. Some rectification work not done. Carpentry also haven't fully finished. Also not able to check the house properly last night because the MCB keeps tripping and toilet light bulbs not installed. I was wondering why all the rooms lights is connected to only one switch in the MCB. There are so many switches inside and only one is used for living, dinning, all bedrooms lights and another switch for kitchen. **** sian, the electrician also anyhow do. My bulbs also missing. Heard electrician also quitting soon. Has anyone apply to SP services to check the electrical wirings?

I have highlighted to him that any delay it will not be 50-50. Anyway he told me he will confirmed when he goes up today to see if HO can be tomorrow. Regarding the miscom, don't think I want to tell him. I have seen him ticked off the carpenter in front of me and another occasion on the phone. Update MBR wardrobe was not correct. The foreman told me Ah Hong didn't tell him to change. So got to dismantled and assemble again. The unneccesary holes are quite ugly. Electrician also didn't come to patch up downlight holes which are at the wrong place. Call them twice but still no action. Quite dissapointed with this electrician after telling him for the past 3 days. Meet uncle on saturday to complain since Friday he is not free. I looked very hard at the wasing machine base and it looks very small. Found that the size is not correct and the washing machine will have one leg sticking out. Thinking cannot accept since when wm spinning it will not be stable. Asked uncle to extend for another 5cm. After the WC installed, found that I will not be able to walk in if the basin is also installed. Drainage also has to be change and involved hacking one or two tiles. No choice, not slim enough to squeeze in between WC and sink. Handover in two days time. Seems highly unlikely.

Glad to hear that the blockboard is fine for use. I was also convinced by uncle yesterday and told him no need to change. The shop ppl where I got my rainshower reminded me to cover up the rainshower before acid wash. However Jason advise not to because water might be trapped. Anyone can advise?

Just a point to note if you maid at home. Please train them how to use the hot water. Due to health issue, my granny need to shower with hotter water, so storage heater was installed. The new maid did not know how to control the mixer and just turn on hot water to bath her. There is no one in the house and later when my uncle came back, immediately sent granny to hospital due to severe burn to the skin. So do be careful for kids and old folks and train the maid well.

Just check with the shop and actually they said they cannot go through acid wash. But the pros should know what to do. Eg use no 4 acid and dilute with water. The girl very nice and explain to me don't buy the brown bottle floor wash from NTUC because it is very strong and will damage the tile. Don't really know which bottle she refer to though. If stubborn stain, can go to her to buy the floor wash.

tampineschris: Thanks for the info. I am aware that Ikea got boxes. Actually trying to save $$ as already over budget by alot. Now can only buy one thing at a time and looking forward to pay day. This weekend shifting should be no problem cos just moving things a few storey down. But next week shift will be more troublesome. So will go around looking for boxes. Ivy: Like that I will check with Jason. Actually Jason told me will acid wash whole house. But yesterday when uncle came he said cannot acid wash, just polish. So abit confused. Anyway, how to tell if the tiles can be acid wash or not? Any expert can advise?
