  1. More things I have bought as I exceeded the photo limit of previous post. Bean bag lounge chair Bean bag side table These 2 items were actually bought months ahead of key collection becuz we were kiasu and needed something to cheer up against the slow building process of our BTO...
  2. Week 4 It's been a month since I've started reno, although there were a few issues here and there, we are finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel! Managed to snap up an wooden extendable table and 2 chairs for our place at the International Furniture Fair last Thursday. It's now in my office as it's a display piece and had to be collected last sunday. My wetworks are progressing really well with installation of my bathtub complete My marble is in process too, pending replacement of some pieces which cracked during delivery and my false ceiling is also done and plastered but no pictures cuz it were already dark when I got there I have also managed to confirm my basin and WC over the weekend, will be finally using my dream undermount basin for my common bath. Now the problem is I can't decide if my countertop should be white or black? Both has its own charm
  3. Hi, i don't think you will need to relocate the tv point. I did a simple layout below
  4. Week 3 We have reached another stand point in the 3rd week of our reno as cement screed was done so we had to wait for the cement to dry. Didn't wait for HDB to screed as it would delay my progress by more than 2 weeks (Apparently they are clearing the CNY backlogs, and was told to wait 6 weeks for FOC cement screed ) Our bathrooms are mostly done with the tiling and bathtub and storage heater were delivered. And our hacked walls were plastered and sealed Hopefully more updates soon as my false ceiling and flooring should be completed by end of next week
  5. Things are progressing much better this week, walls were hacked and debris cleared fully in 1 day! Living room now looks much bigger Kitchen walls hacked and ugly aluminium frames removed Master bedroom wall hacked to create our ensuite study + wardrobe! Today my tiler just informed us that both our toilet's overlay will be completed! can't wait to go see 3D of our living room
  6. The style and design I <3 are more towards clean and comtemporary Like this======> Initially, I wanted a clear glass toilet like here but unfortunately, my hacking for master toilet was not approved due to it being a load bearing wall...blah blah blah...oh well I'm still going to overlay both toilet and replace the basin and WC. HDB's designers are the "best" they gave us beige coloured basin and WC *faintz* Can't they just be white?! The ugly beige-yellowish toilet
  7. Sorry for the slow updates, things are progressing pretty slooowly... We have collected keys on 12 Feb and the past couple of weeks have been a rollercoaster ride! 1) Had some trouble getting HDB hacking permit due to new ruling in effect from 1 Jan 2014 which requires additional hacking licensed worker on top of existing HDB permit -_-" Trouble is most uncle hackers have yet to study for the license from BCA! We had to call for and finally we found a contractor and our hacking is 95% approved, just waiting for HDB to give the dates for hacking now... 2) We decided to do some minute changes to our layout (yet again) to switch our bed and wardrobe as below and we won't be using the glass folding doors as it's pretty expensive and those are used more commercially. We will be changing to glass sliding doors instead. (fingers crossed, no more changes) 3) A series of bad luck as the design and colour of toilet tiles, vinyl tiles and our smarthome switch (from taobao) which we wanted are all OTS Today, my supplier will finally deliver our toilet tiles. For vinyl tiles, we settled for 2nd choice (Pure Grey below) as stock will only arrive in June and our switches which we wanted white to match our walls, we just gave up and get in black. 4) Finally some good news! Luckily our marble is settled and we went for drylay last week. It was an interesting experience and I did not expect drylaying marble to be so crucial even if the marble veins are not that pronounced, but as with natural stone, there will be slight color variations and we definitely need the drylay to simulate our floor area. 5) Our sliding windows for service yard are also done! Gonna need to paste some frosted film for privacy, else we can chat with the whole block neigbhours as I realised conversations carried out in the SY can be heard quite audibly in this back yard "air well" and it will be awkward to have neighbours being able to see me cooking and doing laundry (don't know whether to ignore or say hi -_-") 6) Preparation for toilet overlaying of tiles have also begun 7) Support structure for false ceiling at master bedroom is in progress as well 8) As I am typing this post, my LED lights from TB finally arrived! Can't wait to open the box...
  8. I'm planning to use this glass system for my dinning room so that if we have more guests over, we'll just keep the room fully opened so we won't feel claustrophobic.
  9. Our final layout after countless changes. Yes, we'll be hack ALOT of walls, and shifting the dinning area to bedroom 3 as we feel that our living room is long and narrow which is not quite suitable to cramp both the sofa and table Master bedroom will be combined with Bedroom 2 to form a larger bedroom to house our huge wardrobe and study desk.
  10. It's like a cabinet to enclose the open net, utilities box etc
  11. I managed to go up to my unit during 1 of the holidays Living Room view from Main door Living room view from window Kitchen Common Bedroom Love the view from our Living room!
  12. Hello! We're finally collecting our keys this week finally after a loooong 4++ years wait Typical floorplan much like everyone else
  13. Hi Sharon, congrats on your new home! Looks ready to shift in before CNY
  14. I noticed you boxed up your a/c unit. I'm thinking of doing the same too but was advise against it as a/c might not be cold, once it's concealed. How did you ensure the a/c has enough space, cool air etc?
  15. You should check out this Zig Zag house. It's also a single storey house on a triangular shaped land. Hopefully you can draw some inspirations from this http://www.modonline.com/#project_5_41
  16. Clear mirror but without the deco sticker?
  17. Hi Pinkwhale, I really like your kitchen raw wood laminate. Can PM me your contractor's number? Thanks
  18. You mean u hack away the kitchen tiles? I was under the impression that HDB does not allow that? They only allow you to overlay new tiles?
  19. I noticed there's no floor tiles in your kitchen? I've always thought kitchen floor tiles are provide no?
