  1. Huh...after 5th Oct... The equipment can "Shot" horizontal or vertical..cost ard $900 plus when I asked last time, think now is cheaper liao.

  10. Actually before that, I've sacked 2 carpenters before, left this A-grade carpenter which the price is a bit on the high. Those 2 carpenters had made me loss $ and this A-grade carpenter need to book very early. So sometimes works maybe delayed because of their schedule. Lesson learnt, good workmanship is hard to find. U are paying me high price not only for good workmanship, but also good quality material and my services. So far, I hope that u felt your money is worth spending. Anythings that I have overlooked and need improvement, pls don't be paiseh to let me know. Every house renovation is a learning experience for me.

  12. This make me think of your neighbor below again...show me their master bath some cracked tiles (which is in the middle of the wall)
  13. The tiles ard it. need to look out for only. But don't think the tiler want to do double jobs by carelessly cut/chipped the surrounding tiles. The possibilities of spreading the cracks to other tiles are low unless the quality of the tiles are low.
  14. Boss, u don't need to do that cos midnite they will also hear marbles dropping, rolling, etc... Today morning doing fogging for your whole flat rubbish chute.....its was "dead bodies" over your place, although there are already some, suddenly its become more and more.....my 1st reaction...run for my life
  15. Not only that...still got some more cases. Almost covered whole Singapore area and met up with quite a few different areas HDB officers. They are all quite nice and understandable officers. Fair too.
  16. This need to depend how good your contractor is to catch up with the loss time.

Lesson learnt....before do reno for hse owner, go downstairs to check for cracks and defects etc....(but mostly the neighbor below won't allow me in cos they want to use it as a chance to solves their problems) Wonder when HDB will come out with a rules that they will go below together with contractor to do a check before renovation started so that before there is dispute, its fair to everyone. Oh God, . This is not the first time its happened already.
  18. Asked my years of experience in renovation and also is there such rules from HDB...told them they can go check it themselves on HDB website. Asked me when such rules started or this is a new rules as they reno. the hse 10yrs ago, inside my heart, I was "wah piang, rules is there all along lor". Let see how the HDB officer react on this matter...

So I and talked back nicely, saying, in HDB rules and regulations for renovation, its is not allowed to plastering the ceiling, if found, contractor will be fine $5000, but if the owner knows and wanted to do, then the owners will be fine instead. And for the leakage of water seepage, it is 50-50 for both owners so are they going to pay for that not....And I told them straight that I'll will not plaster back for them cos other area maybe affected too and is illegal. They keep pushing the blame to me for tearing it down and didn't inform them, so I told them, if that's the cause, I'll go to my car and bring the equipment and material to plaster it back now. And I not going to tear the rest of the hollowness plaster at their 2 bathrooms anymore. Furthermore, I told them I will inform the HDB officer tomorrow and ask him to come and take a look and resolve it between me and the owner. The water seepage already been yrs and becos they knew its going to be 50-50, so they waited for new owner to do reno. then they can save the cost of it which is ard $800. Now, already taking advantages, still want some more...its crosses the line man.
  22. So being kind enough, I offer to actually tear down those hollowness becos of safety issues. They had kids at home, if due to your renovation, the plastering drop down, it will either be a large piece or sharp edges. And tot they were kind enough to lend me a ladder, a hammer and a scrapper, I started to tear, check, tear, check(hollow parts) In the end, the whole kitchen ceiling become like this, where u can see the rockstone and plaster. I spent 11/2 hr there doing all this. And after that, I offer to do it for the master and common bath. But before doing the rest, I told them, it will be different cost if they want to engage me to scrape off the whole ceiling for the 3 areas, including scrapping off the rockstone, paint sealant and then follow by 2 coats of painting. Upon hearing the cost, they said its was my own fault... ....for tear down the hollow plaster. Which before I begin to tear down, they was informed already and they agreed to. Initial I only used my hands, they was the one to pass me the hammer and the scrapper. Furthermore, they said since u r doing reno, u are the cause of it, so u(ya that's u, Bro) should pay half of the cost.
