  1. Mickey paisey liao Anyway more complains regarding my reno. Raised concern to contractor but must wait till after CNY for them to look into it. Contractor supposed to remove door closer for main door. Didn't know they actually schedule it with the drilling of my household items after cny. So just now, the arm of the door closer suddenly dropped and chipped my timber strip flooring. Luckily my kids were no where near the door. Imagine if it had fallen onto their heads instead. Anyway, luckily when I called, they said they will arrange for the parquet guy to come as well. My mother came to visit just now while I was about to keep my newly bought pans. She commented why there were white flakes on my pans (pans are black right so the white flakes were quite obvious). I was surprised too. My mom peered into the cabinet and told me the upper part of my cabinet was not laminated. It was raw wood and the flakes were falling from it. I am actually quite pissed cos this is considered shoddy. Cabinets in my old house were fully laminated in and out. My mom's 12 years old cabinets are laminated in and out. How can they give me exposed wood. Called site manager, he said must verify whether it is supposed to be included in my quotation. I was like wth. My husband called boss and he said it was supposed to be like that. We said it is not acceptable and he said he'll come down after cny holidays to take a look. Tell me whether you will accept this kind of work. I definitely won't because my previous home cabinet which was cheaper was definitely better in quality. My fault for not checking earlier because I thought it would be laminated. The top part of all bottom cabinets are exposed wood. Under the sink. If the sink continues leaking, wouldn't this be perfect for termites? Barely 1 week old and I already have a leaking sink Luckily top cabinets are all fully laminated Btw, Happy Lunar New Yr to all. My apologies for posting not so nice things.
  2. Hi Lawry, I have just moved in a week ago and from yesterday, we have noticed water on our under the sink cabinets. We have called our contractor and he has promised to view it, most probably after CNY. I noticed that our sinks are quite similar. Is yours a Critzo, that comes with a larger waste/ drainage holes?
  3. Bluewater, love the look of your toilet. So classy even though it's simple. And we have the same w/m. So far so good. I love using it. Very user friendly.
  4. The piping starts from the riser and riser is located furthest from the kitchen and bathrooms. The only part where pressure is not a problem is my laundry sink. Very wierd. Plumber is gonna take a look at the sink after CNY. My sink comes with bigger holes for waste. Not sure if the problem comes from there. Already called up citygas and they're coming down tomorrow to check. Hope this can be resolved fast. Ossify, clean house must be credited to my husband. He took leave to clean up. The only messy room now is the study room because we have not bought shelves.
  5. Moved-in headaches 1) Water pressure is so small and contractor said that's the maximum we can go. I don't know what's the cause of the problem. 2) My sink is leaking. Not sure whether it's the plumbing or the Critzo sink. 3) Gas heater is not working properly. It only turns on when the mixer is at the maximum 'hot' side and then it'ld be too hot. If we put the mixer in between, the water turns cold. Really pity my kids cos they have to bathe at 7am before going to school and the water's either too hot or too cold. Must resort to boiling water for them. I didn't have such problems with my previous house. Live in photos Boys' room not fully done up yet. Living and balcony all cleaned up by Mr Husband. Ample space for the boys' toys, 2 kids' bicycles and the man's 2 bicycles. View from our room. Morning scenery that greeted me.
  6. I just realized that your chimney hood's backing is glass. I wanted that for my house and my contractor said that because my hood is the chimney kind, it's impossible. Now I know I've been smoked. My kitchen has glass backing for the sink side and wall tiles for the hob side. Now, I am beginning to wonder whether the glass backing is tempered glass or normal glass.
  7. dmay, nice toilet basins! Btw, can I ask whether you have found a solution to the scratch on the parquet. I have 1 scratch on the day I move in cos hub accidentally pushed the sofa. Heartpain.
  8. Bro, I think he was told that there is no space for drying plates in his cabinet. For pots and woks, definitely cannot dry in the cabinet lor.
  9. Yes the red lever looks so out of place. Happy moving to the both of us. Hah. I won't have internet connection for my laptop till next Monday so will have to rely on my iphone frm tmw. Remember to update on your kitchen. Can't wait to see it all done up.
  10. This is the picture of my solid top actual color. From far, it looks all white. Hub+wifi, I didn't measure yesterday but just took a pic for you. And my bidet spray in common toilet and master toilet *now waiting for movers to come*
  11. Hi hub + wifi, Your kitchen is soooo spacious *envious*. Mine is so crammed. Anyway, you asked about the dish drying rack above my sink right? I noticed all your top cabinets are flushed so if the one directly on top of your sink is supposed to be the place for dish drying, I guess your contractor is right about not having enough space. If you take a look at mine, that part is lowered and not flushed with the rest of the top cabinet.
  12. Bro ossify, yeah maintenance. I cook a few times a week but not those heavy duty kind. Hub & wifi, Im not so sure of the dimensions but I'll try measure it soon. Moving in tomorrow =) Bro SGK, I didn't actually ask but I can. No worries, Im sure yours will turn out nice. Bluewater, thanks. Butterfingerzzz's is very nice but my old house already has white cabinets so we just decided to add a lil bit of colour.
  13. Thanks!! My solid top is actually white with cream speckles. Not the pure white kind.
  14. Must wait for a few more years lei. Have to let the new grilles installed wear off first. Hehe.
  15. Here they are.. The glass shower screens in both bathrooms My glossy cream kitchen cabinets No wavy effect, as some feared. Looks fine to me.
  16. It must be near the stadium then? Heh. It is ethical to get your own electrician because ultimately the contractor knows you're going for the best price. It'ld be good to have a contractor that can work with your electrician. My electrician did all electrical works after the wet works before carpentry went up. Coordination was done by the site manager in charge of my reno, so I didn't actually have to tell my electrician when to come. I hope you'll have a pleasant reno journey.
  17. Yup, they got another contact before I could give them yours. So problem solved.
  18. Your kitchen looks quite spacious, unlike most EM kitchens. And Im simply love your invisible grilles!!!
  19. Mickey, your cabinets and hood so matching hor. Hee. Very nice colour.
  20. *hugs* Hang in there. Your contractor's charges are exorbitant. This kind of unorganized contractor can really make our blood boil.
  21. Melvin, those are existing parquet. I only did repolishing.
  22. No worries, you have eyes for details, which is very good. Nobody dare chop your carrot. Hehe. I think the house has those grooves along the walls that's why the ex owners plaster it up. Tmw, will take a look at the mbr plastering. Hope you'll have a smooth moving in on Friday =)
  23. Hi PR, Used to stay in Clementi since young and I love that place. Anyway, your quotation is on the high side for a 3rm lei. My EA's reno is 26k and we chose tiles from the $3 range. Rewiring a 3rm I think is definitely cheaper if you hire your own electrician. I'm sure our bros and sis here have many contacts.
