  1. I'm using Energy eSXL12 sub. Fyi, I've recently repair my mid-range woofers (at Martin Electronics) on the front speakers... the low and high r working fine. My Mission 783 front is a 3 way reflex spk, does the mid-range really matter a lot?
  2. Done the re-calibration... set the crossover for fronts to 80hz in the manual setup in 3310 (as the auto-setup has set to 40hz)... IMO the sound quality from fronts spk (when using 2 ch. stereo to listen to symphony pieces) still sounds bad. BTW, my front speakers specs said "crossover freq = 120Hz to 2.5kHz" (although I do not really know what it means), is it because of this spec that you have asked me to set the crossover for fronts to 120hz in the manual setup in 3310? I've set to 80hz though, does it mean if I set to 120hz, the sound quality may get better? (will try again) My center specs said "crossover freq = 2.5kHz", so r u asking me to set the crossover for center to 120hz in the manual setup in 3310 too? Appreciate your reply, thanks.
  3. During audessy calibration, I set LP to 70hz, Phase set to 0 degree. - U mean 0 degree = less fullness whereas 180 deg is more fullness? - Does that mean if I set front speaker crossover = 80hz, anything lower than 80hz will be handled by subwoofers? - I set LFE+main and front spk set as LARGE spk, hence doing the "double bass" coz my fronts is 3 way speakers, this is alright if I'm not wrong? Thanks.
  4. MISSION 783 (front): Frequency response ±3dB: 38Hz — 20kHz Nominal Impedance 6 Ohms compatible (min. 5Ω) Recommended amplifier power 50-200W Crossover frequency 120Hz and 2.5kHz So is there any wrong with my settings (audessy set as follows)? My channel level is as follows: Front L: -4.0db Center: -2.0db Front R: -5.5db Surround L: -6.0db Surround R: -6.0db S/W: -12.0db Crossover: Front - 40hz Center - 40hz Surround - 80hz SUB: Nominal (RMS) Output Power: 150 Watt Max (RMS) Output Power: 600 Watt -3dB Frequency Response: 20 - 100 Hz Crossover Frequency: 80Hz, 50 - 100Hz I've turn the knobs on the sub as follows (I think), during the audessy set up: Phase: 0 degree (min 0, max 180) EQ: 0 (min -3db, max +3db) LP filter: 70hz (min 0hz, max 120hz) Bass volume: 7 (min 0, max 12) But I gonna re-calibrate again coz I think the above settings is wrong... should set to max 120hz for LP, right? Any idea on the phase which I set to 0?
  5. Hi bro Vicenzo70 & all other experts here, I seriously need some expert opinions from you... my dad's got a Yamaha AV amp DSP-AX1 and Mission speakers (3 way front - 783, center - 78c, surround - 78ds), Energy eSXL12 sub). All these are 9 yrs old and the AX1 is spoilt (probably due to under-usage for the past 2 yrs). Hence, I've bought a Denon AVR-3310 and hook up to the mission speakers. However, the sound quality just doesn't sound great. I think I've set up correctly as I've been configuring for the past 2 weeks. Q1. Is the 3310 under-powered and not able to drive my speakers or it is really because I've miss out some important set up? Q2. Btw, audessy auto setup have set my front speakers crossover at 40hz, do you think by right should set minimally to 80hz? Your help is greatly appreciated.
  6. Oh yah... r u guys implying that WeiWeiQQ is a phantom? now that u guys brought it up.... I read all the post from WeiWeiQQ... all were written with broken english which perfectly matches the IDs at NW.... singaporeans normally dun speak or type this way....haha... most prob a phantom then... lame strategy.
  7. Hi WeiweiQQ & Louis, PM me the quotes that they have given to you... I can advise to you guys what items can be asked for price slash.... at least I can tell wat items they have over quote to u.... coz now I more or less know their baseline and bottom price...
  8. Speaking of that... I realised I've not taken any photos yet..... I have only 1 piece of advice to the pple --> sign up unless u r very confident, thick-skinned and very naggy.... coz u will need to keep bugging and nagging on the ID... coz ID may not be pro-active...coz it's all about the shabby work done by: 1. Electrician 2. Painter 3. Carpenter 4. Flooring subcon 5. Glass/Mirror subcon 6. Window grill subcon. Only #3 belongs to NW company, all the rest of works r outsourced to sub-cons... n these sub-cons all very bo chup mentality.. coz it's not their own house... all the con n subcons r careless too.... u will definitely feel pek chek after paying so much $$$ n yet invited trouble for yourself. Some owners just close one eye n bear with it n accepted the HO with defects all over on their work. Depending on wat kind of person u r, ask urself if u r able to close one eye too. It's not about being picky or wat... IMO u r paying for their services n u wanna get some professional services.
  9. Wowo.. Louis... I tink you must be thinking the same as I thought previosuly, i.e. after all the negative comments, still proceed to sign up with NW... anyway I think they r handing over my house to me end of this week or next week.
  10. Hi tchinlai, is your ID from Jurong or Macpherson branch? Care to share his name?
  11. How much did u pay for it? how much $ discount u manage to get? L- shaped? teflon fabric or normal fabric or leather? hehe, juz receeing the pricing...
  12. Will there be a great great price difference for the same item from FC of different outlets (eg. sungei kadut, IMM, beach rd)? Do u guys think if FC salesman quoted $2999 for a belgium telfon fabric L-shaped sofa, and $3999 for the leather, how much $$$ discount should I bargain? very very expensive leh...

  15. So far so good: false ceiling, light holder, L-box, window grills, lighting pts, install T5 & PLC downlights, painting of whole house. Now waiting for the carpentry work to be done, estimated by mid-March. But I'm more kiasu, so I actually did part of the supervision and coordination stuffs, which is supposed to be the ID's job scope. Just to play safe, I rather give clear instructions to the sub-con instead of ID giving wrong instructions. So everytime when meeting the workers, I'm always around with the ID.
