  1. Oh..I wasn't aware jaskel's charges are premium coz of his daily photo uploads, I assumed it was part of his value add to his customer, but it would be definitely be nice to see your customer's t-blog as well
  2. interesting...will we all also get the privilege of following your "live updates" with your clients too?
  3. jaskel, need 46" monitor to see your images!!
  4. Hi Patsy, real classy look you got going here, I notice the interior of your cabinet is laminated too as opposed to being the default white, are you being charged extra for this?
  5. I agree with you, it does take a lot of review on planning and thinking, but there is only so much one can plan. We do not want to make the same planning mistakes this time round as we did in our current home. We want more it more practical than to aesthetically appeasing. For example I intend to get the Fujioh MK2 as my hood - frankly speaking that hood is a design nightmare!! It is one of the most ugliest hood I ever came across, but it will serve our needs & our current chimney hood which looks nice cant do much, everytime we grill a steak, the entire kitchen has to be wiped down! I guess that's how we started & then work in the things we want, get feedback off RT. Hopefully we all can learn from each other
  6. Thank you At present we are only in the planning stage, so just collating ideas & putting together our budget. Once we get our key, then the updates here will be fast & furious
  7. well done! going the extra mile...
  8. Is anyone familiar with flush-mount sinks? They are a kind of hybrid of under-mount & over-mount. Just imagine an over-mount flushed in with the solid surface. My concern is does it take more then your average skill-set to make the step down on the solid surface to fit in the sink to make it flush & how will the workmanship be ? To which the reply will usually be "Yes can be done, but cost more since need better workmanship"
  9. How about Crestar or Alpha, these are also popular and resilient right? With so many brands in the market I'm still not decided which one to get. Not sure how much impact blade length actually makes & if blade material matters - if its acrylic or aluminum or wooden.
  10. hi, just curious here...why preference for local worker where hacking is concerned? pardon my kaypoh! hehe
  11. Bamboo? Ok I haven't really considered that as I always had the impression it was the priciest among all the hardwoods. Do put up pictures of yours when its done! I agree with you that WPC will feel fake, but the upside is it will not degrade like wood & is more manageable than hardwood
  12. thanks buddy! these pictures do really help alot!, did you make provisioning for OpenNet? It will be a shame to ruin the "Heineken ad" look with ugly trunking BTW This image is a classic!! I laugh until my stomach hurts!!! :D you remind me of my Honda Civic forum buddy "garfield" his entire car is garfield design!
  13. Hi wcseow, I'm looking forward to see your pix too, I'm waiting for my 1st appt but doing some groundwork on getting prices and looking over designs. I got my HT setup from KEC 2 years back, they are pretty good with after sales even after so long. Console design is & has always been a headache for me. Myabe you can give me some pointers on how you are planning to do yours - cable management can be such a pain!
  14. Hi, need some advise on which outdoor wood to use for our balcony, Chengai has been vastly promoted on this forum. But following the threads, after 6 months there are issues on warping and wood splitting which is quite alarming for an outdoor wood. Merbau on the other hand seems to be the able to address these issues but still priced lower than Chengai - so I don't know what the catch is, & not much feedback on it so far here, so I can only assume not many bros & sis' are using it. We are also looking into the possibility of deploying Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) which almost looks like the real thing. Not many companies are offering it so far, the only one I came across is Goodhill and Kianson. Any suggestions on this, anyone?
  15. How many of you have compared quotes between ID & contractors? & I mean real IDs not contractors who upsell themselves as ID but can't produce perspective drawings. Is the difference in cost slight or tangents off exponentially? Most of us would consider paying this premium to have a hassle free renovation, but what is the acceptable premium & is it really hassle-free? Curious
  16. We do not want to go for the total wood feeling, but flooring is definitely laminate, been using that for my current house & we are totally satisfied with the durability even with water spills. We are evaluating a few brands like PERGO, KRONO, VOHRINGER & QUICK-STEP to decide which one we will eventually decide.
  17. Hi Mickey M, thanks for the info on Harfary and Soon Bee Huat, will definitely go there and have a look!
  18. We would also like to thank supersimon27 - for introducing us to the concept of "Floorplanner", its an awesome tool & it was very helpful in giving us a perspective of how we wanted to our layout to be. And also thanks many others who have shared their experiences with us, this is another exciting journey for us. Wish us luck Oh btw ME <-- is the hubby
  19. thanks guys, saves me the headache now when i need to plan for my own deployment!
  20. hi umaisarah, why install near the tv console? is opennet like MIO where there is IPTV services as well? From what I see its only broadband for now
  21. i like your wall feature bepgof, slick and clean, its interesting that you did not finish the console in a similar dark wenge like your pillars and do a suspended shelf console, as would have been natural...the teak look really classic tho! nice work
  22. I did mine with U-Home too, 7 years ago. Back then it was Choon Bock and they had an office in Yishun, near the Chong Pang market. I think at that time U-home did not have HDB license so had to piggy back on Choon Bock or something like that. My designer still works there, went to see him last week to get a quotation for my new place and also to look at their massive showroom at Paya Lebar. In this fast turn around industry, if the ID is still standing & the designer is still there with them, says alot I think...
  23. this is a good question, I myself am looking for custom upholstery service providers, but so far no recommendations on this forum. maybe its not as much in demand as curtain makers. Also getting extra set from the furniture is so expensive too
  24. Your 1st red flag was the seller is going through separation, - this is already creating a havoc in their own personal lives, did you not think you'd suffer some residual effect from it? Personally, I wouldn't enter into any deal where there divorce is not finalized Your 2nd red flag was willing to wait so long for them to sort it out. Deep down in your heart you knew you were not sure about this right? Sometimes you need to trust your own gut instincts. Posting here I guess you want to share your sorrow & some sympathy...but not legal advise as this is the last place for that & that is the 1st thing you need now. The OTP is legally binding - so you can win. The question you need to ask now, is how much trouble you want to cause to the seller & how much inconvenience, heartache and additional cost (in this case its primarily legal costs) do you want to subject yourself and your loved ones to drag this civil case to court? 6 months? 1 more year? I feel for you, hope you can think rationally & all the best in how this turns out
  25. go have a look on starhub website for their new sports package, its quite sad..they got 3 channels just for cricket, looks like if can't get local viewership, they are targeting FT now
