    Water Filters

Hi gkbt, Thanks for the explanation. Here's some updates about KYK from the dealers in Bt Merah: o Been in Sg market from April 2008 only o 7 plates : Already in Sg, selling for ~$3K, claim that 7 plates=more surface area to ionize water=faster water flow o launching their upmarket tap-design model (ie filter box under sink model) sometime in Oct 2009. o 2 filters (vs Mavello 1 filter), each costing $125 to change. One lasts approx 1 year, the other filter lasts approx 2 years, based on usage of ~10L water per day.
  3. Usually false ceiling is preferred, bcos it keeps dust from top of cabinet. L-box, although nice lighting & ambience, will collect dust within the L-box. So, ambience vs fuss-free living... your choice.
  4. Tiger => Must have "MADE IN JAPAN", to be really from Japan. I 'swear' by this brand. Tried cooking brown rice on many types of rice cookers, TIGER is the most fluffy... best. Zojirushi => mostly made outside japan. Go Taka basement to hear the aunty explain the difference between the 2 brands to you. TiGer is the only one with newer sensor technology. Cheers.
  5. Track light in MBR? Won't it be very hot -- too hot for comfort?
  6. Haven't. But you wanna check out these website, to see if it really suits you: http://elnasingapore.com/ http://elnasingapore.com/products-pressopal.html http://elnasingapore.com/products-pressalize.html

    Water Filters

Hi flameternity/gkbt, So interesting to read the posts here... Perhaps you could share with forummers the whether there's any differences to the quality of water produced by these two products: 1. marvello (5 plates, older&cheaper models 3 plates) http://www.kemptrading.com/info.asp?id=72 2. KYK water ionizers (7 plates) http://www.ionizeroasis.com/products/KYK-G...0-7-Plates.html So far, seems like users love the health benefits of these 2 products. Hopefully more users of the above product can share their experiences here, after reading this thread. Looking forward to hear from you guys!
  9. yes, i agree that cylinder really makes the toilet look out-of-place, unless it's covered up by false ceiling (like some condo does). JFYI, may get good price for "LA" from ChongYing... comes in 15L & 30L, if i remember correctly. Definitely value for money.
  10. You may want to check out the following place to see if the LED are cheaper/better than LightCraft's: SIM LIM TOWER #03-14 Xin-Long (as in "New Dragon"), Mr Ni He's able to customize according to your needs.
  11. Where did you get the solar light? How about posting the image to share with us.
  12. The white ones may turn yellowish many years later...
  13. Same sentiments here... Good if someone can share their experience...
  14. The cylindrical storage is not so nice looking as compared to the rectangular type (because it is rectangular-ish, it can be installed at a corner more discreetly), especially in a small HDB toilet. Ariston may leak bcos it's "inside" likely rust after years of usage; from my own experience about 5+years. There is another brand "LA" which looks similar to Ariston, but has "inside" made of stainless steel. Used it for more than 10years and still going on strong!
  15. There are 3 types of "leather": 1. PVC 2. Breathable leather -man-made 3. REAL leather - cowhide, elephant hide, baffalo hide etc. The simplest way to differentiate is (without the need to stare at a burnt hole!) - when you sit (with bare skin) or press hard on the leather surface using your palm, REAL leather will dissipate heat... you won't feel the heat. Breathable leather is also able to dissipate some heat, but not as well. PVC is the worst. You will feel sweaty & warm very soon. REAL leather tends to crease near the stitching/joints. Man-made material tends to have smoother/nicer finishing.
