today i sign up with supreme for my plattform laminate... i showed them what ah ho did for my plattform structure... he was IMPRESSED with how he lay the structure... the usual way of laying is only laying vertical strips, and not a box structure... according to him, this kind of structure is very solid...!! feel abit happy at least out of some many bad things from my reno journey, this is the first thing people ever praised and say it's good.. maybe u can take this as a reference if you are planning to built a plattform...

Bought this half leather sofa in Malaysia, RUSTICA! I added one more seat, added latex to the seats, i paid like only S$1850!! It comes with 5 yrs warranty! The sales person who attended to me was Ms Angel Chan. She is the branch manager! Thumbs up for her superb service... we went there 3 times and bought only on the 4th time! Everytime we say we wanna consider, she still happily send us out, no blackface or insulting remarks! Was considering between lorenzo n rustica...i have a few friends using Rustica products for over 5yrs, no complaint so far! while the manager was preparing my invoice, i peep at her invoice book for delivery schedule, alot of singaporeans buy furniture from there! finally my carpentry arrived... ought to be happy but not too happy cus ah soon did not pay for it... despite i already paid him in FULL... i got to pay additional $6000 to the carpenter before he agreed to do it at a loss of 20%.... anyway the carpenter Ah Ho is very nice and very patient in doing my work.... from what lsh told me, polished tiles do not have a layer of wax to protect it... those with wax one, after lay, the wax must be removed. the wax is meant to protect the tiles from scratches when laying tiles... mine comes with the wax type... the wax on the tiles is NOT EASY TO REMOVE...but luckily lian seng hin promised to rectify the wax stains... the worker took like 2 hours to polish one room... the whole house hasn't complete in the polish. will post on the outcome...

hi may i happen to find this, see if it helps.. http://www.archive.org/details/JoashCheeWh...useFloorDefects basically u can use a marble or coin to tap the four edges and the center of the tile... u can hear a hollow sound if the tile is hollow.. accordingly, hollow tile if not rectified (removed and replace with a new piece), in time to come, it will tilt ('qiao') and when u walk, u will kick onto it... n if left ignored again, it will pop up completely...

mine tiler was a malaysian tou... i don't have hollow tiles (surprisingly) but workmanship is not fantastic too...it is like in the acceptable range...but the grout line not done very well but ah soon tell me at the end of reno, he will get the person to fill up the grout line gaps... he said this will have to be done at the end of the reno for every houses... i have seen houses done by ID, the tiling work also so so only... i feel it is hard to get a good tiler also....

I guess it is time for all soon customers to come to accept that AH SOON now is broke. He has no money to do our jobs. One can force him, curse him, whatever thing u can think off... but still, fact is, AH SOON still has no money to do our jobs. He is now running around telling customers like us, to pay for the remaining jobs first. If the total amount of money paid to him and his sub-cons exceed the contract sum amount, he will pay us back the money. He can only pay us back estimated in March 2010. He seek for our understanding and he promised to pay in March 2010. Not too sure to believe him anot but one thing for sure, we dun have much choice... seriously, alot of people asked me about going to case... seriously, going to case is a WASTE of time. They cannot do anything other than act as a middle party to mediate. ULTIMATELY, AH SOON STILL HAS NO MONEY TO DO OUR JOBS. TO and fro going to case, appointments n etc... by then CNY liao... Going to police doesn't help either because he hasn't run away and doesn't constitute to cheating offences... Ultimately like what edmund says, the choice is ours. First of all, we have to ACCEPT the fact AH SOON is now BROKE (tou haven't declare bankrupt) Next, we move on to either pay ah soon sub-cons directly or find our own contractors... The only thing we can do to claim back our money is to sue him. or of course, if miracles happens, he can return our money by MARCH??? I can understand the feelings better than anyone here after 6months of renovation (still haven't HO!!) with AH SOON. Sleepless night, numerous calling everyday, smses, aeroplanes, having to deal with angry SUB CONS... not to forget $$ losses due to storage cost n etc...i also breakdown and can't take all these anymore... 我们千选万选, 又怕选到手工不好的CONTRACTOR 又怕选到不负责任的CONTRACTOR 又怕选到会拿了钱会跑路不做工的CONTRACTOR 却偏偏被我们选中!! 为什么买TOTO又没哪么准!!!!!

hi jaskel do u mind if i ask u something... i have false ceiling in my both toilets... i am now worry that when we bath, the water vapour will reach the ceiling and i am not sure if the ceiling will peel off anot? is there anyway to protect the ceiling from the water vapour...?
