hi sengkang, dun be disheartened. same here, i also approached one of the famous contractor in this forum, he gave me a quote and then i didn't reply him as i was too busy with some personal issues..... when i went back to look for him, he shouted at me saying, ' I CALL U, U NEVER ANSWER, I ALREADY THROW AWAY UR QUOTE LIAO'.. n i never recall recieving any calls or missed calls from him! there's alot of petty contractors n ids ... !!

oh yes i seen opsh at the expo fair their system looks n feels better than other brands.. eg. they specially fabricate a cover to cover the screws.. they quoted $140pfr for the first 5ft during then... not sure about now...??

my friend, have problems with XXA agent... my brother, who has a friend who is also an XXA agent, who claims to be acting in the interest of my sis. he says he is helping her on a good friend account rather than as an 'agent'... my sis was interested in one of the unit.. he somehow told my sis that that house is marketed thru an agent n etc.. demanded a high cov n etc... end up, we discovered the owner did not sign any exclusive and actually selling on its own... so much for being a 'friend'.. even told my brother that the valuation of the house can be 'arranged' by paying around $600. meaning, he can have 'special arrangement' for the valuer to give a higher valuation... but how can it be possible where HDB randomly assign the valuation ??

ah soon is really too busy already.. he is running the show by himself... sometimes it can be frustrating if he did not pick up call OR worst still, miss the appt n didn't inform people he is not coming... (keep people waiting) he is one such person u must keep follow up with him closely... sms him..(in chinese) it works for me... haha..

hi ivy no worries.. i know it years back.. haha... i am staying my mother house so i can afford to let him drag a bit... during then, i was rushing to move in before CNY, i also keep chase after him.. one good thing, he never get angry... (Cus i am impatient and can sound quite fierce!) sometimes we got to give and take... but also cannot drag too long... i told him business is business, if u promised to do it within a certain period, u must make sure u can... which he agreed.. he even told me, now, especially customers referred from internet, must handle with 'TLC''...hahaah.... oh my house is in the east

hi i heard from my contractor, it is not recommended for houses with small children.. as they tend to play with the door and spoils easily by children....

hi pinkpetter n all supporters of ah soon, i finally confirmed with ah soon on my renovation! he can even start the hacking works quite immediately... (haven't even collect the downpayment from me.. haha...) he quoted me really a very good deal, mine is a 5room revamp -- i approached at least 32 renovation companines- big and small.. big ones charged me $50K - $70K .. while smaller ones charges me $43-45K...(without lighting points) I gotten quote from Ah Soon is $38K (WITH LIGHTING POINTS!!) I went to see his workmanship for carpentry, it is good. I have seen the raw structure of the carpentry --meaning haven't install all the doors n etc.. the wood is solid ply and not those any kind of mdf... I have seen IDs firms worksite, their quality also the same as Ah Soon... At least now i am convinced that what ID firm offers, contractor can offer the same thing. The only thing is, u got to come up the design yourself!! i am doing quite alot of modification to my house And carpentry work... so, i guess it is quite a challenge for him and us..!! i will post pictures soon if anyone is interested

Hi, from this thread, seems like Ah soon is difficult to contact. Surprisingly I called him yesterday morning for a quote, he is very fast to respond and view my house to give a quote in the very afternoon. But his handphone keep ringing, really busy... now awaiting for his quote. Keep my fingers crossed... he did my house before.. now the second time.. duno about his workmanship now? anyone can share?
