sierra hills is very good? then heng la.. i got the right mattress. i actually preferred another model but hubby prefer this one, so i gave in lor. top layer material? just like the soft lace on vera wang's mattress that kind of top layer? if it is, then it's no difference wor, cos eventually we all will be sure to put in mattress protector, and bed sheet ma, so that layer won't be much of a difference right?

ya, think all the condos like that wor.. and yes, originally the ceiling is high la.. so once the false ceiling up, the height still acceptable lor.. huh? really ah? my friend selling me the heater told me to get 68L wor. cos she said the water might get too cold or something.. so i just went ahead wor... ooh.. this is made of bamboo? from howards too? wow. your place will be really spa man...

Do You Put A Rug Under Your Dining Table And Chairs?
Amy Choon replied to Reno145's topic in Home Furnishings
well bro.. priorities will change over time la... but my mantra still the same, do whatever you want now. cos you won't get to do them later!! but of cos, i won't regret doing things differently to what my heart desires, because the kid is the queen! and she's the most important aspect of all my considerations. frankly, i'm keen on the white sofa too! hahaha. -

Hansgrohe/grohe/toto Vs Non-branded Bathroom Items
Amy Choon replied to Hamster06's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
haha... i know that.. but really la.. after 5 - 8 years... the taps will be filled with grime and slime already.. new house get new shiny things ma.... one thing for sure, Hansgrohe definitely change my expectation aesthetically... so now, i want all my taps to look nice and sleek, but cost a fraction of hans grohe.. haha. -
All White Theme
Amy Choon replied to qiqi's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
white will never look outdated, that's for sure... but i think after a while, it looks kinda plain and boring la... but that can be remedied easily, just throw in colours and it will look refreshing! i guess you try to go for glossy surfaces, definitely much easier to wipe down as compared to matte laminates... really, since you are so keen, just go for it!! it's your house, my dear... just do what your heart tells you to! -
Hansgrohe/grohe/toto Vs Non-branded Bathroom Items
Amy Choon replied to Hamster06's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
well.. i'm very particular.. it's either all branded or all non-branded... i won't mix and match branded with non-branded... i was considering hans grohe too.. was so keen to get them and even increase my budget for it... then a friend told me not to. said her hubby's previous house was all hans grohe and it's just normal.. then i think and think lor... and decide against getting it.. i still don't know if there's a difference in quality la but i was swooned over getting the brand.. eventually, all these brandeds will be fixed in that house when you sell them off.. so i rather save the money and buy something else instead.. it's a hard decision to make la.. but then i know once i stay in that house for a while, nothing seems to matter anymore. -
i was in between granite and solid surface too!.. wanted solid surface because it has the white that i wanted.. my contractor quoted me $105/ft for LG Hi Mac. but my contractor kept telling me not to use solid surface cos it really scratches so easily.. and he even told me to try with his samples.. i rub it lightly against his granite top and it was all scratches already.... imagine how gentle i'll have to be everytime i use the kitchen? granite is easier to maintain compared to solid surface.. but the colours limited.... if you use your kitchen often enough, you should just go for less hassel in maintenace.. btw, the price your contractor quoted, is good enough to get you the higher range of solid surface. $112/ft for cresto is too much!

haha... i try not to think of soaking in the dirt and sweat la... anyway when i go hotel, i normally rinse down first before i step into the tub. dirt and sweat minimised! it's more of a relaxation soaking in there and thinking of nothing, just enjoying the peace. hey el, good idea! i got iphone.... just need the docks with speakers.. thanks for the tip sia...

my geomancer came to my place and saw the staircase directly facing my main door. but he said it was good because the part of the stairs facing us was leading upstairs. but if it's leading downstairs then it's not good. he even told us to keep the stairs door open, cos it's gonna be good for us. have yours been audited by geomancer? maybe you should, and get them to give you a remedy. cos we don't know about such things, and if we do it wrongly, it might bring more bad than good. what maybe bad for others might be good for you, you know... just like the partition on the front door, if it faces to the window of your hall? many people erected partition walls, but our geomancer said we must not do it, cos it's like cutting off the flow and it's bad for us!...

Do You Put A Rug Under Your Dining Table And Chairs?
Amy Choon replied to Reno145's topic in Home Furnishings
aww... what a waste!... yup... in my old place, when me and hubby just newly married and moved to our new place, there was a pc of rug in the hall, and tons of photo frames on the tv console, sofa was in a nice cream colour, we hacked half a room for a WIW, and we didn't install grills etc... because it's just the 2 of us... after we had the kid, rug went in to store room, photo frames went into boxes, sofa changed covers to dark brown and we so regret hacking the room for WIW.. and worse of all, we constantly have to worried about the windowless grills. now for my new place, i make sure nothing was hacked, i asked my contractor to propose designs with child safety as priority, sofa's gonna be dark grey or black, told my hubby there will be nothing to be put on display (actually hate the dust that accumulates too).. but i might just put a nice small rug in the hall for the first year at least... -
All White Theme
Amy Choon replied to qiqi's topic in RENOVATION IDEAS: Interior Design Themes, Space Planning
TYM, haha, that's a good one, but i think Mr President house is only white on the outside, interiors not white ba. Well, for me, I'm only diligent for the first 2 years in my new house, clean whenever i see small spots of stains. after 5 years, don't really care already la. if you really like it, i'd say go for it! just try to avoid fixed or commonly used furniture with fabric in white, i.e. sofa, dining chairs... stained fabrics very hard to clean wor. -
Do You Put A Rug Under Your Dining Table And Chairs?
Amy Choon replied to Reno145's topic in Home Furnishings
i won't... because no matter how careful we are, there's bound to have some morsels on the floor. so leh cheh to wash the rug but if don't wash, will attract all the bugs. at least on tiles better, easy to wipe. -
mine too. facing the staircase direct. the best solution is don't open your front door when you at home lor, then you won't see that door.

not up yet.. just chosen wor... i read that jacuzzi jets need to wash down after every use. I lazy la.. normal tub will do. oh ya man, definitely candles and potted plants.. wine ah? not into drinking wor.. stereo speakers! that's a very good idea... okay, that's on my list! i don't know leh... probably within the next 2 weeks? my reno just started this Monday leh, now still hacking.. haiz...
