  1. u meant the dot pitch between the pixels? oh...and eventually make the pixel size smaller ah? if that's what you meant then I roughly get your picture liao hehe..... er....never interested in LCD b4, coz it's meant for computer screen
  2. wait I go find and post here again. As for the pixel size, it's still the same, regardless of full HD or WXGA or XGA panel. the numbers of pixels are the same, and if the panel size is the same, all pixel size will still be the same.....PQ is not determined by pixel size one, especially for Plasma. $4999? you must be kidding, anytime buying outside the show can get cheaper price than SITEX price, so why bother? HD5 was during mid-Oct. The price actually shoot back and never come down.....so this is an exceptional case. Some people feel that the anti glare screen is better, but the fact is, glossy screen is having much better PQ, provided you aren't bothered by the reflection or there is no reflection problem in your living hall. You loss a lot of 3D feel and color vibrancy when you opt for anti-glare panels.
  3. 50PY700 was $5150 + $900 vouchers + 24 months installment pay only 23 months (4.16% immediate rebate) + 5 years Panasonic warranty during the HD5 lift off. The lowest I heard for Samsung P9 is $4000 without freegifts/$4300 with freegifts, SITEX was selling $4999 with some freegifts, 3 years warranty. MaCe, I bought the power meter from that UK guy you saw from ebay er....how can the pixel size be "very different" from brands to brands? if it's 50" in full HD, the only way to make the pixel size bigger is to make the total diagonal size bigger what?
  4. you shall not be restricted by what stupid funny standard lar. There was a "standard" saying I need to buy 100" Plasma with a viewing distance of 4m, crazy right? Although I am using a projector with 100" viewing in HD and 60"+ for normal SCV/Mediacorp channels, the experience is just great, except I can't really enjoy much during daytime. Go check it out yourself at the stores and feel the difference in viewing distance and the sizes. 50" is just nice for 3-4m viewing distance to me. 42" will be a bit too small for anything less than 3m, but then it's a very subjective to individuals one lor. 65" will be ideal for 4m. Just my personal "taste". btw, wensi, which Plasma you bought, how much? Me aiming for Samsung P9
  5. I know exactly where to get identical or similar supply of what diamond filters are offering. So my DIY is not really the DIY lah....there are some wholesaler for such filters in JB, HQ based in KL. However, SG has no such market, that's why it's tough to DIY here. If I got no time to do this thing, I will just grab 1 recon set for $400. Elken? they almost got sued until close shop when their resellers are conducting the misleading info about how "dirty" our water is. They used electrolysis to let you see all the "dirty" stuff. But in fact, as long as it's not pure water, as long as there are electricity passing through the water, you will see "dirty" stuff. Pure water doesn't conduct electricity, that's why no matter how you do it, the water will never come out "dirty stuff". Come on, who drinks pure water? machines!! And that's exactly what PUB sold to those factory at much lower cost compared to portable water! The only human being that is recommended by doctor to consume pure water is cancer patients (or other patients that needs to do some cleansing). Pure water absorb minerals like nobody business, therefore you will lose a lot of minerals if you drink pure water continuously. Results? Those MLM guys will happily sell you supplement to cover what you lose from drinking their "clean water" lor.....lol aiya, when it comes to pure water, Amway, Diamond and some other brands sure whack this point one. in short, Amway will always complain Diamond one cannot kill virus (as if our water really got harmful virus), and Diamond will always say Amway one got no energy and take up electricity (as if we drink non-energized water also cannot). Well, as long as you happy can liao. Just dun waste too much $$$$..... Beware of those funny funny brands from dunno which origin one. Those low QC stuff may not just cheat your $$$$, it doesn't guarantee anything in case you kena something after drinking their water.....if you are not expert, buy from good reputation brands. If you know what you're doing, then go ahead and save yourself some $$$ and invest in other stuff. Remember, health is not just about what water you drink. It concerns what food you eat everyday, how you handle stress, how happy you are, and your positive thinking does matter a lot too. All these little little thing add up will result in many illnesses, if you do not handle it well. But dun focus too much on a particular factor. You shall see things as a whole. Got time, do more exercise, have more fun!
  6. depends on viewing distance. If your TV size is fixed, the further you sit, the PQ diff may not be visible to you between LCD and Plasma.
  7. 37" is clearer, especially when your viewing distance is short. 50" is better value for money now. $3K+ can get the 50PV70 already. Somemore can be used as computer hehee...no stretched image....
  8. i have, a full stack of them. if you want, you can pay for it why I say NSF is just NSF? coz some of the things may not be useful/practical. I can only say, the only thing diamond lack off, is the UV that kill VIRUS. But if SG water is so contaminated to have VIRUS, i think there is a serious issue. You get what I meant? brands like Amway are GOOD, but just too good for anybody already...that's why you dun need that.
  9. why PM? isn't this an open forums to share knowledge? why is it so secretive unless you're just hinting you're a reseller again? NSF is NSF, water filter is not just about NSF cert. different people has different requirement. To me, the most important thing, on top of the basic removal of the substances mentioned, it must has energy filter and energy stabilizer too. Yup, not just diamond has it, I can also DIY and much better than what Amway and other brands are offering. Diamond is just a brand that help you to DIY with better QC, and charge 12x of their cost to you I think Amway may charge 8x...other brands maybe 6x-10x
  10. but how much do you pay for it? Plasma may not spoil so easily within 5 years, the more critical period is the first 3 years actually.
  11. Acasia is a manufacturer, any curtain supplier should have their samples.
  12. went to see again, i found that LuckyGoldstar's panel is over-saturated.......most probably will get the 50PV70 (reflective screen) instead of 50PV700(anti-glare) from Panasonic. Think somebody got it for just $3800 sometime back, based on this price, with the $400 cash voucher and 1st month OCBC free installment and 3% rebate from Best Denki, that will work out to be: $3800-$158.33-$400-$114 = $3127.67. Not bad for a 50" Plasma Just hope that they will still throw in the 5 years extended warranty from either Panasonic or 3 years extended warranty + SAFETY5.
  13. I realized all the threads become tree form when I use mozilla. but when I'm on IE, it turn out okay. did renotalk under any changes? sometimes when I click the tree form, the page will become unavailable.....
  14. actually the first thing you receive such call is, "please send me the summon letter." in any case, you are given sufficient time to prove that you're innocent. Oh yah, in fact, the first thing to tell them was, "I am going to declare bankrupt soon, I have no money, so what shall I do?" most probably these cheaters won't even bother to call you up anymore.....
  15. wow, price dropped liao!! do update us which shop so that next time we can include that shop during white goods shopping hehe....
  16. Wanted to get Q91 50" but seems like everywhere got no stocks, Samsung may come out new model anytime soon. Another one is Goldstar 50PC5R. Both are giving very nice color reproduction. Panasonic and Pioneer looked relatively dull, especially on SD from starhub/mediacorp. May just get 50PV700 from Panasonic, their promotion is quite hard to resist.....lol! I just received Sony's year end sale brochure, they didn't include the price of 60" SXRD, if the price is right, I may get that hehe.... I will be bringing my kwh power meter together with my hubstation and probably a media box down to test the sets in best denki/harvey norman. Power consumption doesn't bother me, just for the benefit of others. What would you be getting? SITEX is near the corner and for sure next month has Christmas sales!
  17. thanks chery08, any sample of picture you found from the web about the "lace curtain"? IKEA does not do curtain, but they have a tenant to handle curtains. You just need to pick this brand called Acasia will do, they have a few series with a lot of flowers one. So far the cheapest we got was $20/m for material alone, this is inclusive of matching pattern. We haven't got our bedframe and mattress yet, but most probably will get something to match the curtain. When it comes to country/classic design, curtain plays an important role. The rest of the curtains are not up yet, will post more pictures when it's done.
  18. trust your eyes. If you think LCD can make your eyes feel more comfortable, by all mean, get LCD Most people will still find that Plasma/CRT is more comfortable to watch. As for the power consumption thingy, I have a power meter, will do a measurement when I go down to hunt my Plasma sometime soon. However, it is not my major concern as the difference is pretty insignificant.
  19. The design is very nice and sweet, but the price is not cheap although everything made in Vietnam. Anybody bought from them b4?
  20. the original design was quite country, but we decided to take in some modern idea for the kitchen, 1 thing is $$$, another thing is how practical we want it to be......sorry for the messy kitchen picture hehe.... the backing is 100% stainless steel and the cabinet is covered by membrane door, so this is the mixture of modern and country heheh.......the design of our kitchen is very simple lah, as you can see only the bottom part of the cabinets are having 2 lines, the rest are just...er....without design lol! the killer part is the Lucky Goldstar solid surface top, i think it's the volcano series, so it gives some contrast to the plain cabinet door lor. Er....solid wood or MDF, doesn't make much difference in terms of price.......for kitchen better go for solid wood lah, for wardrobe maybe MDF is better, coz you can kept drilling without worrying about holes hehe..... oh yah, maybe you shall pay a visit to this furniture shop called Ecolink, they have branches in both IMM and Furniture Mall I think. although the sources are from Vietnam, the design is very very english one, I believe you will also like it......we are probably getting the bedroom sets from them....now I'm sleeping on the floor with seahorse mattress lol!
  21. for the benefit of the rest: this is postform, usually not using solid wood, the cheapest materials: ABS trimming, the most cost effective material and easier to maintain, but I can't seem to find any picture from the web, well, you just ask any contractor, they will be able to show you one. the key is the sides and corners. As for membrane compressed door, this is one of the samples(there is no way to achieve this with postform):
  22. alright, a preview of the MBR curtains. I think it looks more like the 80s kind of feel instead of english lol! And the double layers string curtains(Master Toilet and Common Toilet): the rest of the curtains are not done yet, so can't show much.
  23. yes, my wife's idea lol! she wants a very sweet home feeling lor, but this is really giving me a lot of headache coz the key is all the detailed furnishing, not the basic renovation itself. haha....now we do until it become a bit modern liao hehe.....will upload some pictures to show you when I get back to my new house later. It's like 30% done only.....on top of the basic renovation. I saw a movie called 人鱼朵朵 recently, their deco is really very english.......so nice......
  24. got freegift one meh? $889? i though $888? $30 for the interest.....uhm....
