Any Shop Selling Laura Ashley Quality/design Standard Kind Of Curtain?

Recommended Posts

The price from Laura Ashley is very expensive, even if I buy direct also need to pay like $60 per meter. Taka is selling them at $65 per meter.....

I know the UK fabric is meant for 4 seasons, but for that kind of price, it's really too much already......but no doubt their design is very very nice.

We almost got fainted when we see the quotation, $7K+ after the expected Oct discounts somemore......

it's the material....LA is meant for 4 seasons which we dun really need here.

in the end we went to a shop in delphi Orchard, recommended by our beautician. She gave us a very solid price, Acasia(not sure if it's the same spelling) has similar fabric (but of course not as good as Laura Ashley in terms of quality) design and guess what? $20/m only.....

In the end we spend less than $2.5K for the whole house, inclusive of 4 string curtains (double up each for 2 toilets). There are some other additional thing from the original quote of $1.8K.

Currently only the master bedroom and the toilets are done with the curtains hehe.....waiting for them to complete the rest. Will take some photo to share later.

Hi tingshen, are you doing your house in english country style?

yes, my wife's idea lol! she wants a very sweet home feeling lor, but this is really giving me a lot of headache coz the key is all the detailed furnishing, not the basic renovation itself.

haha....now we do until it become a bit modern liao hehe.....will upload some pictures to show you when I get back to my new house later. It's like 30% done only.....on top of the basic renovation.

I saw a movie called 人鱼朵朵 recently, their deco is really very english.......so nice......

alright, a preview of the MBR curtains. I think it looks more like the 80s kind of feel instead of english lol!

And the double layers string curtains(Master Toilet and Common Toilet):

the rest of the curtains are not done yet, so can't show much.

The curtains are sooo sweet! I like them! I'm also planning to do my house in country style, and i can totally understand the headache u all are going through... Got a quote for kitchen cabinets from forest in Thomson. They specialise in country style carpentry. The cabinets (14 ft for top and 10 ft for bottom) + sink + hood + solid top already cost nearing 7k. wanna faint man! but i guess it's because they are using solid wood, that's why so ex. but comparing to a normal laminate with abs trimming set of cabinets, it's double the price.

did you do your kitchen in country style also?

the original design was quite country, but we decided to take in some modern idea for the kitchen, 1 thing is $$$, another thing is how practical we want it to be......sorry for the messy kitchen picture hehe....

spa0024lc1.jpg

the backing is 100% stainless steel and the cabinet is covered by membrane door, so this is the mixture of modern and country heheh.......the design of our kitchen is very simple lah, as you can see only the bottom part of the cabinets are having 2 lines, the rest are just...er....without design lol!

the killer part is the Lucky Goldstar solid surface top, i think it's the volcano series, so it gives some contrast to the plain cabinet door lor. Er....solid wood or MDF, doesn't make much difference in terms of price.......for kitchen better go for solid wood lah, for wardrobe maybe MDF is better, coz you can kept drilling without worrying about holes hehe.....

oh yah, maybe you shall pay a visit to this furniture shop called Ecolink, they have branches in both IMM and Furniture Mall I think. although the sources are from Vietnam, the design is very very english one, I believe you will also like it......we are probably getting the bedroom sets from them....now I'm sleeping on the floor with seahorse mattress lol!

thanks chery08, any sample of picture you found from the web about the "lace curtain"?

IKEA does not do curtain, but they have a tenant to handle curtains. You just need to pick this brand called Acasia will do, they have a few series with a lot of flowers one. So far the cheapest we got was $20/m for material alone, this is inclusive of matching pattern.

We haven't got our bedframe and mattress yet, but most probably will get something to match the curtain. When it comes to country/classic design, curtain plays an important role.

The rest of the curtains are not up yet, will post more pictures when it's done.

Been to ecolink also! =) And hb and i like the furniture there. we might be getting the tv console. only thing is that it could be abit too huge for our puny living room, esp given that we might wanna TRY to add a platform beside our window.

Acasia is a manufacturer, any curtain supplier should have their samples.
