  1. congrats~ so when are they returning with that ONE drawer?
  2. she will need an employment letter/proof that she has her own business in SG to extend the PR. yea lor, let them worry about it anyway, for info, found this in an online forum: Quote: "if you cannot get ICA to renew your REP (re-entry permit), you will not be able to leave the country and return as a PR, effectively rendering your PR-less. When HDB gets wind of that fact from ICA, they will re-assess your eligibility to own your HDB. If you co-own it with a Singaporean spouse, HDB may ask your spouse to nominate another PR or citizen to take your place. If HDB decides that you losing your PR makes your spouse ineligible to own the HDB on his own, they will ask your spouse to sell it in the open market. If the flat is not eligible to be sold on the open market due to non-compliance of the MOP, then your spouse will need to sell it back to the HDB."
  3. so this year is your year cos it's BUNNY year i used hand to mix the biscuit and butter last time (since i didn't have a mixer then ), just wondering if it was "well mixed" enough
  4. the Popular in IMM is smaller.... btw among those shops you're talking about, there is one salon that offers $4.90 haircut, my hubby has been going there for haircut, quite good leh no difference (or even better than) QB house if you ask me can even purchase "package" - $20 for 5 haircuts or something like that the 2nd NTUC you're talking about (near to Ivory Height side) just opened around 1 yr ago and is very small. it was previously a Shop n Save.... we see it as a "business" decision to "eliminate" competitors
  5. sorry really don't know in such detail~ cos for my seller's case, both husband and wife's PR-ship is gone liao. if your friend has intention to return, then she should go and extend the re-entry permit and dun let it expire leh... else next time re-apply again, very very troublesome... maybe if her business is doing well, she comes back to expend in SG
  6. yup. for any PR, regardless whether you are East/West malaysian, Indians, Eskimos... you are not supposed to keep the flat once your "PR-ship" is expired. the difference is other PRs can take the money and go, while west malaysians gotta wait till 55. actually i didn't know until my seller told me. he also said he knows there are pple who didn't sell, but he is not in favour to play with the law.... since market is good now, just quickly sell, rather than later kenna found out and forced to sell when market is bad.
  7. oh ya you're the guy that like long shower like my hubby i never switch off heater when i bathe... need to keep heating the water for me la~ yup it may draw standby current when not heating, but should be very little la, so it's okie if you dun leave it on for too long. btw i asked hubby yesterday, he said MUST buy good and reputable brand cos for gas heater, lousy one will give you really lousy shower experience
  8. oops... hahaha... anyway we stay so near, sure got chance to meet or maybe we can exchange some kinect games to play hahahahaha
  9. hahaha thanks for the bump... was about to do some update for info, the Popular Bookshop at JE MRT has closed since 15 Feb '11 (2 days ago). couldn't believe when my hubby told me last week that there was some big clearance sales with 5 books going for $5. this bookshop has been around for like 20 yrs? dunno if it will reopen again.....
  10. but for PR, if they return to home country, it's very difficult to extend the re-entry permit when it expires (usually after a 5 or 10 yrs period). once the re-entry permit expires, they have to release the HDB cos they are no longer PR. In fact, that is why my previous owner has to sell the flat.... only for west malaysian, have to wait till 55 to draw the CPF. for east malaysian and PR from other countries, once you go home and cancel PR (or when re-entry permit validity ends), you can take the full CPF immediately.
  11. froggy, what happened to your washer? any news on key collection date?
  12. where got history... it's not so long ago only must consolidate the vast baking resources of RT to here mah... hahaha
  13. wah... that sounds like a lot of work!
  14. all newnyew's photos now cannot display leh... "image unavailable".... hmmmm dunno why anyway, thanks for the tips last time i took out the cheese for around 1+ hr only... need 4 hours? next time i'll leave it longer do you cut the cheese to cubes before mixing? my blender comes with 2 attachments: blender and mill. i supposed the one you're refering to is the mill? don't quite know how to use this thing yet but the plastic bag method sounds easy... no need to wash blender hahahahaha btw i forgot to ask... when you mix butter and stuff to the crushed biscuit, also use electric mixer or use hand to blend?
  15. my flat is 26 yrs old... sound built around same era as yours with the equally poor workmanship.... your plastering sounds bad! and they proceed to painting after seeing this kind of plastering?
  16. oh special one... i see if your ID ask you to choose those like i posted above and charge you $400, remember to him hahahahahaha
  17. then i think it's better find out what kind of laminated door is your ID providing. it could be some special ones that we don't know? i said it's cheaper cos i've seen laminated doors at the shops going for less than $200 for simple designs ($500 for 3 or something like that).
  18. joining methods for stainless steel and copper are different if i remember correctly, but that's for joining between 2 pipes, not sure if joining to mixer is same or not. anyway, for stainless steel piping, 2 pipes are joined by a fitting, and if they didn't join properly, water will leak from joint area. they are supposed to test that there is no leakage in the system before handing over to you. i heard that's why some contractors charge higher for stainless steel piping becos they have to be more careful and also becos of the testing needed.
  19. that's why laminated doors are cheaper too from what i understand....
  20. laminated door doesn't look so different from wooden door imho.... or your ID has some special designs? ask him for catalogues leh... hee hee.
  21. they didn't tighten properly? are you using stainless steel or copper pipes?
  22. it's very common la... sometimes cracks surface immediately, sometimes wait a few months then starts to come out, just ask your ID to patch it back... my teacher told me she patched 3 times over 2 years and decided that she won't do it anymore, so just bought a big bookshelf to cover the cracks some other friends told me that after a while, you don't "see" the cracks anymore cos you've gotten used to it.
  23. i see... yours is corridor unit? hahahahaha you should have enough bedsheets to do so... 6th floor only nia that time my contractor told me that laminated doors can choose patterns, but not as good and durable as nyatoh or veneer doors
