  1. oh dear. i hope nobody got hurt. i think maybe you dropped something on the glass hob before as well that led to the glass shattering as well? did you call them up and ask what happened? maybe they can give you a discount after that? then you just get the stainless steel ones. i dont know much about the glass hob because personally i got it because maintenance will be easy and because i'm not a frequent cooker it's perfectly suits my lifestyle. my aunt has been using it for years and so far nothing has happened to her glass hob. touch wood. and my family has been using turbo hob for years. all had nothing but good raves about it. my mum uses the stainless steel one from turbo and cooking on it has been a breeze according to her as they have good fire control.
  2. i'm using my glass for some time already. i remember when i was looking around for hobs, the turbo sales person told me that glass hobs, regardless of brand, can shatter. but of course, it all depends on how you use it and take care of it. if you drop something heavy on it, it may break eventually. i havent been cooking for long periods of time because i personally don't really cook much. the most will be boiling water and some light cooking. i have an aunt that is using the glass hob as well and she has been cooking for years on it. i guess it really depends on how you use it because there will always be a certain limitations to the glass hobs like the wok size and all.
  3. hmm. my turbo built in oven is place near the cooking stove instead. not sure if it's advisable to place near the fridge. three functions should be good enough if you're looking for something that does all the basics that an oven does. maybe you can ask the sales person and see what they think?
  4. i got my built in oven from turbo. decided to get it since it was affordable and works good enough for me. i guess nobody is using the same brand? i decided to get it since my family uses the hob for cooking and it has been serving them well.
  5. hi there. my place is using the glass hob from turbo and so far using it has been a breeze as it's easy to maintain and clean. i have relatives using the glass hobs as well and they have been using it for years and it still works like new. with glass hobs, as long as you know how to use it and maintain it, it will last just like any normal hobs.
  6. anyone using the built in ovens from turbo? family is planning to get one and i remember that the turbo one i saw was reasonable for its price and function. anyone got comments on this? or any suggestions?
  7. this is such a good deal! thanks for the heads up! shall go and see if there's any good buys!
  8. turbo's promotions are quite standard but it suits for all types of users. personally i just happen to buy my glass hob from them just after seeing it in the stores. and further more my parents place is using turbo as well. so might as well get something that's trusted and reliable. what else does this gr link shop sells?
  9. i don't think turbo is having any promotions right now. maybe you can go check the stores out and see if they are doing any promotions? if you can wait, just wait till their warehouse sales. heard the deals will even be better!
  10. i went audio house the other time since they are known for their good prices. i got my optic white hob from turbo there. got it when it was having a promotion. so quite while the money.
  11. my family used to have one from tecno gas but we change it after a year of using it. the metal started to look like it has been burnt and for safely, my mum decided to check it. after that, switched to a turbo one which works perfectly fine till now. no marks no nothing. still going strong. as for a hob that is not white in other, there are the metal ones? or maybe you can get the black glass hob from turbo if you're not a heavy cooker.
  12. yeah i know! i went back during the weekend and got that cornell oven already. pretty much a steal especially when they do not have much stock left when i get. thankfully i was thinking properly and got it during the weekend, if not like what you said, i would be waiting forever for another promotion to come about.
  13. yeah. that's quite a big restriction already based on the limitations. for small families like mine, just hubby and me, and not much cooking will be done that kind, a glass hob is fine i supposed. but for bigger families, especially when you have family gatherings and all, it would be very limiting to get a glass hob as you'll need a bigger pan/pot to do your cooking and for the long run, i think the glass will give way sooner or later. i got my glass hob from turbo few months back for my new home. currently waiting for the renovations to be done before fixing in all the fixtures and all. hopefully it's something i will not regret since it's so pretty looking. you better make your decision quick! some of the stores have an exchange policy for a week?
  14. i buy my stuff from audio house. sometimes they offer quite good deals for the products. like i got some of my cornell stuff at really good prices. and also i got my turbo cooking hob at quite a steal as well. other than audio house, i shop at this neighborhood store near my place. offers quite the good deal just that they dont have alot of variety to choose from.
  15. hey there. i think with glass hobs there will be many limitations to how you can use it. for example before i got my glass hob from turbo, the sales person clearly explained to me to do's and donts for the hobs and even asked me to consider it again based on my cooking habits.
  16. this is the cornell oven i'm talking about. saw it on their facebook page. that's the point! there's a discount and i need a small tabletop oven, i just don't know if i should get this or wait for better offers that may come up.
  17. thanks for the recommendation. will check it out. i got the cooler fan from cornell after finding out more about the product. and since its within my budget and affordable, i just got it since it's seems like a good investment. the cooler fan has this ion generator that generates out air that has positive effects on the health and also has the ability to purify and clean air which is useful for my family as we live at the lower floors of our flat that is beside the main road. hopefully it's good! will let you guys know again after using it for awhile.
  18. hey guys. just need some feedback on this. saw this tabletop oven from cornell in courts having a promotion. selling for $99 now. it has a capacity of 28 litres and 3 level heater setting with timer and adjustable thermostat. and mainly it's black in color la! :X was thinking whether to get it as it's having a promotion now with the usual price of $168. quite worth it right? to save around $70.
  19. anyone familiar with turbo's glass hobs? i'm getting the 2-burner glass hob from them. was attracted to it as it is pure white in color as compared to the other white glass hobs which has a slight bluish or cream tint in them. said to be made from toughened glass, it has heavy duty pot stands as well. as a light cooker, i think this would be perfect for my kitchen. and it'll be easier to clean as well. as for the hood, i haven't decided on a model yet. any recommendations?
  20. hi dear. i think you can call up turbo's distributor at 6542 2822 or email them at info@turbo-italia.com for servicing enquiries.
  21. i think the wood used for the cabinet would be slightly thicker to protect the things stored in the next cabinet? i'm not very sure about this until you mentioned about it. hmmm.
  22. thanks for your comments dear. after you said that, i realised it too. most chefs would use affordable appliances and yet do wonders with the food they make. it is all based on the techniques in making good food. i think for now, as a beginner, i would get something that fits into my budget perfectly. if the chefs can make the oven work for them, i'm sure with practice i can make my turbo oven work for me as well.
  23. yeah. true true! that's what i think too. i can just get a simple oven with all the basic functions and i can do wonders provided i know how to use the oven. the turbo one that i check is just nice. affordable price and simple. guess i'll be getting that. since it fits into what i'm looking for.
  24. i have a kdk fan at home and i'm looking for some other brands to try out. something cheap and lasting. i saw this cornell cooler fan the other day, it seems not bad. got remote control too. and it's like an air conditioner but it's more like a fan. dont know if i should get that not. anyone got any recommendations?
  25. i'm looking at the cornell cooler fan. it was used at some cafe the other time when my table complained about the cafe feeling all warm. not bad actually. considering getting it since the weather in singapore can get a little crazy and also i dont wanna on the ac to cut cost. heehee.
