  1. If this thread is about Eco Friendly decking or wood products of any sort for flooring, i would suggest one to visit http://www.sgbc.sg/index.php/certification/assess/C115/ . It is worth to note however that a Product is only considered to be "GREEN" only if it obtains SGBP certification http://www.sgbc.sg/index.php/certification/assess/C109/ .
  2. How about helping to make our home a greener place to live in? A GREEN flooring product where they have just launched a promotion today. removed
  3. Oil based is just as undesirable resulting to even higher VOC emissions. What is the density kg/m3? Would you have any product sample to show? Thx
  4. Is this price for Supply and Install? As for Green Labelling, i understand products relating to Building and Contstruction will not be given renewal under the Green Lablling Scheme as it will be superceded by new Scheme under SGBC/SGBP http://www.sgbc.sg/index.php/certification/product_label/ . This is to allow for more control to the definition of a Green product by adhering to a set of standard and stringent test conditions. Factors affecting the price are usually the following 1) Material used (Mao Zhu in original form is of lower density) 2) Dimension hence Thickness x Width x Length (Thickness is often the main consideration) 3) Density upon processed (as in how much raw materials being packed in to produce the product. better with higher density) 4) Joint profile whether is it tongue and groove or click system 5) Top coat used (Water based may not be desirable for scratch resistance)
  5. Would you have any bamboo flooring information to share? What are you getting? thx
  6. Considering that 2 bedrooms to have floor area of about 30sqm = 323 sqft, 5K sum would translate to S$15.48 per sqft which is super expensive for laminate. As for Bamboo, would you have the product specification and pricing to share? thx
  7. Try this http://www.woodlandeasiflor.com/Pages/Projects_eco-art_strip_flooring.html .... it is not laminate... in short, it has better performance and yet green.
  8. Bamboo flooring (as in the better one Strand Woven Bamboo) as far as i know ranges from $10 to $13 psf
  9. 5k? where did you get the quote from? you may wish to try an alternative to laminate here http://www.woodlandeasiflor.com/Pages/Projects_eco-art_strip_flooring.html where they are the first (and only so far) flooring company in Singapore that has their products certified as Green under SGBP.
  10. More can be found here http://www.woodlandeasiflor.com/Pages/Proj...o_flooring.html
  11. Yes you can but you will need to take care of the level difference from your bedroom door to the exterior.
  12. Top layer of Engineered Wood flooring uses real hardwood veneer typically 0.6 to 3mm while laminate uses decorative paper. As such, an Engineered Wood flooring is more expensive than Laminate Flooring.
  13. Make sure that you get a Strand Woven Bamboo flooring as it has a very high density @1100kg/m3 and has a Janka Hardness of @3,000 pounds per square inch.
  14. How much is everyone here paying for their laminate floor? At $6.50 psf, i would say it is expensive not beause of ones affordability but the product itself.
  15. Laminated Materials could just be that thin sheet of paper design from europe. Manufacturing could still be from China.
  16. whoops... so sorry... just dun feel good looking at the word laminate
  17. These are few of the reasons why i having been discounraging pl from using laminate floor. There is a newly launched product using a latest technology that will soon replace laminate - IMO. you may want to visit www.woodlandeasiflor.com for more information and test it out yourself at their showroom in Old Airport Road - i believe by appointment only. They have this eco-art flooring that would take the industry by storm. They also have very impressive Cabonised Bamboo floor.
  18. Try the eco-art series by woodlandeasiflor at www.woodlandeasiflor.com with better performance in terms of hardness, abrasion and scratch resistance over laminate flooring.
  19. Try the eco-art series by woodlandeasiflor at www.woodlandeasiflor.com with better performance in terms of hardness, abrasion and scratch resistance over laminate flooring.
  20. it is always good to be informed of other choices available. i would not recommend any laminate floor at all - supreme that is and the others. how many things you own do not come from china? We just can't stop denying the fact that China is now the manufacturing powerhouse. Most of the time we are just blinded by the marketing strategies but I must admit though it is not always easy to get the real answer unless one is in the industry himself. Businesses need to find all ways to shave off the extras (without compromising the product safety and quality) to lower operating costs. Who knows our furture everyday products will come from Iraq? Back to basic floor details one has to know to proper evaluate, look at the board thinkness and its density information even if it claims made of HDF. Unfortunately, information on the later is not easily available and which is why most consumers are not able to make fair judgement but purely based on price per sq ft. It is always true and bare in mind that you pay penuts and you get monkeys.
  21. A more supreme alternative to consider for your wood flooring. Visit www.woodlandeasiflor.com
  22. IMO just from the price point alone, it would be better to consider "eco-art" strip flooring by Woodland easiflor @ www.woodlandeasiflor.com - developed through a new green technology. It comes with dimension 12x125x1200mm (HxWxL) using HDF as base and through Jetcoat proprietry coating technology with greater improvement to the hardness and the resistance to scratch and abrasion. It also comes with a click system called "easifit" that one can DIY and you can dismantle it for use in your new home if you move.
