  1. Oh, the glass partition is built to prevent oil fumes and smell from the wet kitchen to dry or to the living room. Initially there is a glass door to enclose the wet area. but at last the glass door is taken out for easy access between wet/dry. we will install air curtain if oil fume or smell goes to living room. lets see how later when I 'open stove', hehe....
  2. yeah, thanks for reminding...I am thinking of putting the decorative film on the glass panel or some simple spray paint art

  9. Renovations can be daunting for first-timers like us, and we totally have no idea where to begin and what to do. I am thankful to renotalk for giving me to come out of the experience with some hard lessons learned that shared here; to prevent us from unexpected issues and setbacks along the way. So, please feel free to comment and guide us along…thank you thank you!! Sourcing for contractors and IDs is really a tedious task. Repeating the same story and requirement with different people is driving us towards exhaustion. Should we choose based on the price, the design or their reputation? Clueless…Everyone is giving the advice that ‘there must be the chemistry between you and the ID that you engaged’ in order to lead the process to a success. Whether it is true, I am not sure because the chemistry should be both way, the ID can have the same thought whether we are the one he wants to work with as well, right? Nothing we can do with that, I am crossing finger that the renovation come smooth smooth to an end soon. Hacking started on 24th November, 3 weeks++ to date, only tiling of both toilet floor/wall and kitchen wall were done. I can’t wait the handover day to arrive. I am looking forward to a comfortable and cozy home. Here is the floor plan after the long-winded intro.
  10. Hi, pg1 Just to let you know, Ideal Design and Ideal House are different ID firm
  11. Hi Henry, thank you so much for the enlightening information about Bosch hob and Schott glass. I am getting the Bosch HBN331E2J built in oven. My ID is designing in the way that the tall cabinet (with built in oven and microwave) is located next to the refrigerator. Is it OK? Is the heat generated from baking will damage the fridge in a long run? What is the advisable gap between the fridge and the tall cabinet. Please advise...Thank you.

  18. Hi Avatarsun I intended to buy FZ61.1IX initially too; it is really a good buy after the promotion. But when I check the specs again, I realize that this model doesnt come with auto cut off timer. For safety purposes, I opted for other model.
  19. You are NOT fussy at all. The agent has to do the job. I am quite lucky that I have the current agent who did everything for me, his service is perfect, worth for the 1% from me. He helped me to take photos during inspection, check everything; fight for us when the seller wanted to delay in handover. He even did the PUB, citygas transfer etc. Overall, I am quite happy with this agent!! You can tell him that you are not happy with his service; and you can actually complain or reduce the agent fee to 0.5 ~ 0.7%.
