  4. Hi all, As i have benefited a lot from Renotalk... i would like to share an idea which i adopted in 2003..... I have not seen anything like it so far here, so i'd like to share..... As can be seen from the title.... i used to like the idea of posterbeds but our hdb rooms aren't all big enough to accomodate one... also i find most, if not all posterbeds available are too claustrophobic... i am one who likes to dangle my feet and hands out of the bed.... and the posts are gonna hinder that.... See pic below... you can tell the "posts" are not visible.... less cluttering.... and i merely used ikea stuffs for DIY The 4 straight rods and curved corner connecters are from Ikea range of curtain rods The cylindrical housing that sits on the ceiling and top of curtain rods corners are those hang wires for bathrooms.... So 4 corner curved curtain rods, 4 straight rods, 4 sets of hang wires (cut to length) , and lightweight "mosquito nets"....
  5. Hi All, I need to re-waterproof my toilet due to seepage to unit below me near the drainpipes (waterproofed 5 yrs ago). I wonder if i can do this without hacking away my floor tiles (includes removing 2 shower glass splash screens and tile-covered air con drainage pipe. Can i just waterproof over current floor tiles tile one more layer? Would hacking floor tiles affect my wall tiles at the floor-wall joint? Can anyone recommend me contractors to do this? Thanks a lot in advance! Bryan
  6. Thanks very much for the extra photo and replies!! Can you PM your cpntractor details and if possible, your reno costs breakdown (Cant PM you). I renovated my current place 5 yrs back and am not so sure the current rates. Thanks again!
  7. Thank you!!! I think a wide and shallow "storeroom" with a wide access like that can be very good since most storerooms are narrow although deep, making movement and access quite difficult at times. Your config access is as wide as one width of the pocket doors. Another question popped up as i envisaging your WIW/MBR partitioning. You mentioned you used a curtain. Is that built into the WIW? Something like a pocket door frame but a curtain inside instead of door? I was thinking of a dresser area directly behind your MBR sink. Also, the shifting of the toilet door to be directly at the centre rather than the original off-centre to the left in order to have depth for the dresser. What do you think?
  8. Cant send your PM...... I am configuring a unit same as yours (mirrored)! Been trying to find a way for more MBR size for WIW to toilet and yet keeping a storeroom but still wrecking my brains until i saw yours! i have a few requests for you, if you don mind sharing.... 1) Your storeroom relocation is a very good idea! Can show some pics? I guessing the need for pocket doors since it is impossible to walk inside it. 2) Any issues with relocating the new MBR sink area outside the old toilet boundary? Need HDB approval? Thanks in advance!!
