23ft?!?! AHHHHH! O.M.F.G That is going to be our Heineken moment. /shrieks You're going to have a HUGE bedroom, like May's. Can't wait to see it!! Totally green with envy. - Ely

Well, too late for that now. Too much stuff is already in the house, and whole-house plastering is usually done in the initial stages. Being so close to completion, the best we can do (to reduce damage to the laminates, floors, fixtures, furniture) is to do touch-up plastering. I'm at that stage now (the regret part) but I blame it on my lousy foresight and for not doing a thorough enough inspection first. Sadness. - Ely

Well, May offered to USE the toiletries if she comes as an over-night guest, which is what they're meant for! P.S. I wiped a group of 80 when I lagged into the lava and everyone was on /stick since I was raid leader... Was so embarrassed. Helps when you're female and leading raids, the guys all shut up when they hear a girl's voice on Ventrilo~ - Ely

Ooh, this was the one I was talking to you that day about! It's "supposedly" on the same par as the Electrolux I got (yeah, yeah the Made-In-Italy sales line got me too). I still think the Bosch looks better though. Just be sure to check all pockets for loose coins and such. LOOOVVE the Kartel bowls and tray - exquisite taste! Oh my, I better be handing you my crown and doing the fake air kisses. - Ely (now known as Crazy Cat Lady)

I think it just spoils the whole look of everything, especially after you've sooo much on the reno :/ It was brought up by the ID but the house was so poorly-lit (they didn't have any ceiling lights/lamps except for 1 in the dining room) that we thought we could save on the plastering. It was only after the first paint job done then we realised how terrible the walls are, and had the worst covered with a board, and another plastered. Now, we're just doing the major walls and corners which seem to be the worst and (trying) to ignore the ones that are not so obvious or well-lit. I had no idea that painting couldn't rectify it! It won't be 100% perfect but I can live with 80%. Well, The Husband conceded passive-aggressively and we spent the whole night cling-wrapping all of the furniture/island/HTS. Ooh, DIY for the day: Remember those Ikea wooden storage shelves? Used the inserts and was going to throw the casement away then decided to convert it into guest amenities shelf! Used a glossy paper bag for the backdrop: Painted another with chalkboard fronts so I can label all my hoarding. - Ely

OMGAH I loved FF (wru Squall irl~), Metal Gear Solid (Snaaaakkkeee! Snaaaaaakee!), Resident Evil (all the guys were such babies, jumping during the zombie scenes, it got me so annoyed I took over the controls), and Legend of the Dragoon. And are you trying to say we're old Maybe it would serve me better if I stick to talking about shoes (hmm, stilettos = pierce damage, platform shoes = crush damage, ballet flats = 0 AF, cowboy boots = slash dmg, knee-high heeled leather boots = stun/mezz without resist~) Um guess not. - Ely

The errant walls The Husband thinks is acceptable: And this is simply a SAMPLING of the walls. Obviously too late to plaster the whole house now as it's the final week of renovations, so it's going to be just a simple touch up plaster job on the worst walls (can't do the entire place as it'd just delay the handover further - we're giving this only 3 days max to do as much as they can). I don't know, I feel that it might be a constant source of irritation to me everytime I see it, and /facepalm-ing for not doing it earlier. I had no idea the walls would be soooo bad even after the final touch-up paint job so I insisted on the plastering despite The Husband's protests. So: TODAY (DAY 91): Tiled fixed (unearthed drainage problem though), some plastering done WEDNESDAY (DAY 92): Carpentry (hopefully, as this guy has a reputation for no-show), more plastering, drainage guy THURSDAY (DAY 93): And more plastering, plus touch-up paint job FRIDAY (DAY 94): General wash & cleaning, shelving guy (**** Yee Sin didn't want to do my job!) SATURDAY (DAY 95): Wallpaper TUESDAY (DAY 98): Couch! Seems like we get to move by next week afterall! - Ely

Oh yes, patsy - it suddenly grew a life of its own, vacillating to online gaming, geekspeak, kitties & puppies, Asian upbringing and its result of idiotic poor self-esteem, shaping up of RT-gathering guest list... Well, did manage to take some pics of the steel traps for you: closeup: Like I said on Whatsapp, the flow isn't very good >< I think the traditional ugly ones are much better at doing their job at draining. I'm actually having a professional drainage guy come in tomorrow to see what's wrong - the whole thing started overflowing and flooded the kitchen! What a nightmare! Sigh. Better idea is to use those ugly ones and spray-coat them to whatever colour you like. Mabbe. - Ely

Just stamp your feet or wave arms about! Or just walk past it :)Cats are really quite nonchalant creatures. I have no idea. He insisted TWICE though that my umbrella gave away my nationality despite my trying to speak Mandarin to him as testament of non-China Chinese but noooo....the umbrella is so much more of an indicator than my accent! Gawd *puts on earphones* I got the same thing today from the plaster guy! WTF! I don't even know if looking like China Chinese is insulting... like a kept woman or something? UGH! - Ely

OMGAH! Over-powered cuteness! The Husband and I will like to extend our warmest congratulations to both you and your lovely wife. Welcome to the world, baby Jonathan It's a much cuter place now P.S. How odd that all your kids' birthdays fall on the 24th! - Ely

Roffle. <-- Undead mage, helped to level a friend's rogue (omg Distract and Vanish is ftw for questing solo), then a Bloof Elf Pally, which I hated. I was with Doomhammer Clan for a bit too (mostly Aussies) Hunters need to be nerfed~ Hated always being marked by them while getting ganked at Badlands~ Stopped playing pretty early in the game, after their expansion to the level 70 cap. Had Warhammer Online too, but didn't touch it. Tried Allods Online, and that was entertaining for a while. PK-RANG-RANG! A really oooollldd video, not our best, but it shows DAoC's pvp well (think our MT was sorta confused bleh): - Ely

Oh Maaann, that's a stove I'd die for. LOVE it to bits omgah! Similar to the one boyblunder has I think. Super gorgeous. Definitely a good motivator to cook *hint hint*. Ooh, btw Joyous, you're also invited to the RT-gathering next month at my place if you're free A little late, but congrats on your ROM! I'm sure it was a lovely ceremony - Ely

Sir Poo, Awww, such a cutie! *warm fuzzies* Can see why you miss him so much. It's true - the difference between a dog and a husband is that after 10 years, the dog is still happy to greet you I'm with sleek - tend to not have terriers (except for bull terriers mmm) due to their hyperactivity and yapping (rescued several and they were so much to handle), but yours look incredibly sweet. Think my count is at 18 dogs... I still miss my beagle Chelsea - she was my best friend for years. I cried for weeks and still do whenever I talk about her. *sniffle* - Ely

Wow, I was too busy replying on my own thread (spam ftw) that I forgot to do my updates: Um, okay. So. There is going to be another several more days' delay, but totally my fault and at my asking. I assumed, stupidly, that touch-up paint jobs meant fixing all the horrid crevices and bumps and lumps and chips and streaks but was told by the painter today that it needed plastering. So we're factoring in another 3 days max of plastering. The Husband was initially quite pissed by my last minute decision but I know I wouldn't be able to accept it now that I'm so aware of it. Today was a crazy day cling-wrapping every piece of furniture and our precioussss HTS, and stored everything we could in all the cupboards/wardrobes/drawers. Also managed to fit in some DIY with a 10-yr-old Ikea drawer chest that I've used forever for my cosmetics. Now the inserts go into the vanity's drawer so I converted the empty case into a guest's amenities shelf in the guest bathroom Even affixed a cat poster as a backdrop haha! I was so busy with the re-packing that I forgot to take pics of the steel traps (sorry, patsy, I'll do so tomorrow but I'm thinking you should give it a miss - I'm having some problems with them now - the drainage is extremely slow), and the air-con brackets that The Husband made (for boyblunder & RB) /beams with pride. REVISED SCHEDULE TUESDAY (DAY 91): Plastering... WEDNESDAY (DAY 92) Plastering & chipped tile changed, carpentry (misc works like mirrored vanity cupboard, shelving etc) THURSDAY (DAY 93): Maybe more plastering FRIDAY (DAY 94): Touch up painting + wallpaper SATURDAY (DAY 95): General wash + cleaning + Couch delivery SUNDAY (DAY 96): Personal cleaning + packing MONDAY (DAY 97): Move in, mabbe? I'll update pics tomorrow of the walls - I just feel that it's such a waste to spend so much effort and money on reno to live with terrible walls. Not sure if I'm pedantic cos The Husband finds it acceptable. /shrug - Ely

You're very welcome, Kobelala. Maybe we can speak more about toilet habits (without demo pls)? Ha! Let me know when you're ready to adopt, I always have contacts for kittens/cats and can help you go through a very extensive list There's also a JRT available for adoption at my estate, would you like me to forward you the details? I think he's about 3 yrs old - must check again. Thank you so much for offering to pet sit I'm just worried about those afraid or allergic to them so I'll simply keep them confined in a room and anyone who wants to meet them can do so Both extremely good-natured so no worries about biting/humping/scratching/hissing etc. Maxey can get a little excited though but he expresses it through zoomies You're so welcome, knownothing. Pity we didn't speak more at May's. Haha that cabbie story - I get it sooo often it's not funny anymore. I was just asked if I'm from China because I was using an umbrella (???). Bring doggie pics k? - Ely

Cats are more likely to flight than fight, so just shoo it away. It's probably accustomed to being greeted by the other residents at the block and was looking for a pat! Cats are not normally "friendly" creatures so if one comes your cat, it's seeking affection/attention Haha! That Deh routine done at May's place was deliberately exaggerated just for humour and to show how really bad I am at it. I'll stick to being assertive - it definitely comes more naturally to me than Deh-ing. (epic failure) I cannot agree more. I'm always envious of those confident women who look great just because they feel great. I remember a saying "Feel like the prettiest girl in the room, and you'd BE the prettiest girl in that room". Confidence is truly the sexiest thing a woman can have. Perhaps I'll just work on those bendy poses in the meantime (NOT in front of the workers!). How can a cute elfin thing like you be ugly Sometimes I think parents and family are very odd - but it's one great lesson I've learnt NOT to do with my own kids in the future. *hugz* - Ely
