  2. Hi, BunBun The forum was down for past few days for major upgrade. All comments on these 2 days from 18-19 April were gone!! I'm really feel sad that my ID has left the firm, but I believe he will be happy elsewhere, given his good work attitude, reliabilty & responsibilty. I totally agreed with you that it is the ID firm BIG LOSS to lose a very responsible ID.
  3. I really can't hold this & have to say it out here! I mentioned somewhere in this thread about my Neighbour downstair who complained to HDB about the yellow stains on their kitchen ceiling which surfaced during my renovation. As tiler is returning tomorrow morning to touch up the groutings & replace the floor tiles, I know the contractor should also be doing the ceiling for my Neighbour. I just went down to check with my Neighbour & was told she is aware of tomorrow's arrangement. Kudos to my ID, even though he has left the firm, he still bother to arrange with my Neighbour & contractor to touch up the ceiling tomorrow when tiler returns tomorrow.
  4. Although my ID had left the firm, he still care to follow up with rectifications. I could guess his resignation from the tell-tale sign of his messages when I alerted him about the bubbling & cracked wall plastering: "Had asked Mr Lee to arrange e plasterer to do touch up. He'd arrange, had gave him your no.". He texted me again yesterday to inform me "Just talk to him over e phone he said he'll contact you once e plaster men arranged." Usually, my ID is taking care of all my demands and will simply reply "OK, Will do." However, I can sense something not right when I received his above messages. From the above 'strange' arrangement, I called him last evening and he confirmed that he left officially on 1-April. Nevertheless, he still bother to 'entertain' me and he called the PM to arrange & keep me updated. Now, I can only wish him all the best in all his endeavours. p.s. The tiler Ah Lim is returning on Saturday morning to replace few floor tiles (warped tiles rejected) and touch up the groutings in one of locked bedroom when the previous guy came last time to do up the lines in living room and rest of areas.
  5. One can 'Deh' until Contractor run away, and another can 'moonlight' at Changi Village, looks like 'Deh'ing' is a 'good' skill to master
  6. Aiyo, Westies, Now then you ask! Else you can come to join the group who came over to my place & help to clear the food!
  7. Bro, You thought I am like Sis Marshy so clever in baking meh? The cake will turn out like this HOW? You still want to eat?? Anyway, I don't have an oven at home...baking & cooking all outsource to those people who can perform better than me
  8. Sis May can start sending resume to head hunters for them to do the searching!!
  9. If not in a hurry, give them sufficient time to come up with unique 3D design. If you ask ID to expedite, who knows he will just copy & paste from elsewhere? For you, can use 'Deh' skill?
  10. Yea, it is expensive - paid over $1100 for the Blum runners (I choose the best of the best series!!) and hinges, and $690 for the colored interior. Then, another $220 for tall panel to shield the view of stove from back entrance. My expensive kitchen cabinet is now for 'display' with all the expensive pots and pans too (>$3K for complete AMC series including a pressure cooker), but not cooking at home!! hahaha
  11. Ya la......I am one fierce mum like one forumer quoted in my t-blog. I recalled one day when my second son didn't close the sliding doors of the 'green' wardrobe in his room. When I came home & see the 'cha pa lang' things inside, and yet he left the doors wide open, I slammed the doors until the painting at the top corner of the casing gave way and has crack line!! I told the truth to ID and he get the contractor to touch up the corner for me.
  12. hello, friends78 Oh, you are working on 7-May I also like your kitchen with the island & 2 red lovely high chairs. Now, which day you choose for housewarming? May dream1's house surely is a talking point!! She is already a challenger of my Extreme Makeover!
  13. Hi, Bro Kobelala Don't 'tekan' the contractor, wait they angry and give more headaches!! You can ask Mrs Kobelala to use her 'deh' skills. Can learn from Sis Maydream1. For me, I got no chance to use this 'deh' skill, because I 'bully' my ID Every time I asked him to do things, he always say 'OK, will do", and he really did all for me. I remembered one day I was meeting him near my beautician place for discussion on VO items. He charged me for the window ledge at the dining opening. I told him to take this item out. Then he asked me whether I like it or not, because money to him is not the issue. If I like to have the wooden window ledge, he can pay for me. So, FOC = OK!! LOL
  14. Thanks sis Marshy for the reply. Hi, Emobebe The last piece was bought at $24.95. LOL It is indeed good to know our acquaintances here can turn into a big family!!
  15. Sis May Sayang sayang "hugs" Like sis Marshy said, hang on till your renovation is over than you can have more time to look for prospective employer. No problem for you Sis May, since your excel skills is superb Your template created for contractor passed up to him already?

I do agree that Fate helped bring the shortlisted IDs or contractors to us when we knocked on their doors. A well written review is always a key to the decision making process for home owners.
  18. My post here for the locksmith and my direct deal with door makers for solid veneer fire-rated doors: Locksmith & Solid main doors: http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?s=...st&p=604942
  19. Bro csingeu I thought your first paper is today? Relax and wish you all the best! Talking about the yellowish or brownish stains, my downstair neighbour also has the same stains on the kitchen ceiling. My contractor is coming this Saturday to fix it.
  20. Confirmed and chopped chopped! I can moonlight and be HDB flat inspector liao You talking about my big kitchen cost so much $$$$? Bro, Sis Marshy said your curve door so unique that DUST cannot sit on top, sure fall one!

  22. I use Chinese Astrology and I am Ding Fire which is akin to Candle light. I can illuminate people's life, I can sing like a bird but I can also sting like a BEE. That's why I flare up when I see the old tiler who damaged the tiles. Flooring is like the foundation of our house, must be made perfect. Other areas like wall plastering and painting, you see I still have some patience. Can you imagine how embarrasing to face your colleagues after the scolding? I will also resign in the same situation!
