I have one contractor whom I almost award my reno work to him. His quote for labour is reasonable. The electrical work he quoted me is also very cheap!
-
I am also an 'Ikea' fan! As our Ikea furniture was bought less than a year, I am keeping the 2-seater white sofa (my sister will help to give it a thorough cleanse using a type of chemical wash), and one white side board which is my favourite! All things in white is my favourite! I am looking forward to seeing pictures of your complete reno.

My electrical works also cost nearly $5000! First quote was like $4.3K, due to many cove lights, socket points, etc. Now, there are more additions: I am paying extra to change all sockets (single and double) to those 2-pin friendly type (initial estimate from electrician is $9 extra for single socket, and $16 more for double sockets). We have previously installed the socket bought from Sheng Siong, the brand name is NCE Advance Electrical, and I pay over $20 for each socket! I am also getting PE endorsement for the electrical installations. On top of that, I am asking the electrician to connect the Cat 6 cable to all rooms including additional network cable in the living for future connectivity to the fibre optic terminal box.

The theory of Cosmic Trinity again: Heaven Luck 33.33% Earth Luck 33.33% Man Luck 33.33% Whether the aquarium business will thrive or not, it depends on 3 main factors. Missing North sector will affect the business, and there might be challenges and / or difficulties, but this does not mean the aquarium business will fail! There is also the Heaven Luck, i.e. his/her Bazi natal chart. If Water is favourable element for him (if the birth chart needs water), then he/she is in the right business field. Coupled with his Man Luck, eg. good business management skill & knowledge in rearing fishes, etc, then we can draw a complete picture. You get it now?

You are right that no FSM can predict 100%. We can only see things in the surface, i.e. those appearing in the Luck Pillar, and to unveil the destiny within the next couple of years. We therefore have to be mindful when you enter into your bad luck cycle. Can you imagine if you are in bad luck cycle (BaZi) and you work in a 5-Yellow room (fengshui)? Or if you are severely sick and sleep in a bedroom room with 2-sickness star, or worst still, in a room with 5-Yellow ?

I was posting my comments intensively at the Geomancy / FengShui section recently. One most important statement I wish to post on my own T-Blog is this: "Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action." This is a Quote by the British Statesman and literary author, Benjamin Disraeli. You see it is very true! Everything that happened around us has domino effects: Actions which were taken by us or by others. If we want something in life, we have to take action, without it nothing will happen. We can sit around and bemoan the sad state of affairs we are in or we can be proactive (instead of reactive) and start making positive changes to our lives. One of the FSM ever said this: If destiny hands us a raw deal, we can make lemonade out of a lemon!!!

Our living environment has an effect on all home owners. Where we live, where our house is sited, the landscape in our vicinity and the internal space within our home are channels where energy or life force known as “Qi” flow. This energy gives life to all living things and is dispersed by the wind and gathers at the boundary of water. All of us, I am sure, wish for a life of abundance, health and wealth, relationships and what have you. There are those who are born with a silver spoon and blessed with good fortune throughout their lives. Luck seems to go with them wherever they go, well at least most of the times. Others are not so lucky and have to put up with challenges after challenges in their embattled lives and problems keep cropping up from time to time. To them, life is nothing but suffering. To quote the revered and his holiness, the Dalai Lama, “Life is suffering. Our purpose in life is to seek happiness”. What if there is a choice that we can make to turn things around? What if the unpleasant events and circumstances that we faced in the drudgery of living can be mitigated, lessened or dissolved with efforts on our part? Is hardship and adversity seems insurmountable? One of my elder sister passed away when she was 47. My ex-hubby contracted cancer and passed away 5 years later due to bad house feng shui, and met with bad luck cycle in his BaZi. That's why I am fascinated with Feng Shui and BaZi. I am now a single parent, and my objective in acquiring FS and BaZi knowledge is to help improve the destiny of the children, friends, relatives and colleagues.

You are right -- the "click' factor is important. Someone may recommend you his/her ID, but that does not mean you will have the same level of service and expectations. I was initially going to award to a contractor based on price, but in the end, I can "click' with this ID and eventually part more $$$ to award my reno to this ID. Now, hope that he lives up to my expectations for my major revamp works!
-
So far, my ID is very good in follow up. If a person shows interests from the beginning, take his heart at work, diligent, skillful, and most important, friendly and patient, then this person should make a good ID/contractor for your reno work. You can visit my T-blog on how I ended up selecting my current ID.

Materials That U Regret Using/ Installing

Wow...didn't know Toilet WC bowl can give such problem! Luckily I decline the toilet bowl which comes with my reno package, asked the ID to remove them as I prefered to choose the design I want. -
Someone was also asking me whether I am choosing copper or stainless steel for the water pipe. I do agree that stainless steel need NO painting and it blends well with the stainless steel tap mixers. My ID is going to get pissed off with me soon....have been asking him to make so many changes from electrical sockets (to cater for 2-pins friendly type, ofcourse got to pay extra $$$ for single & double sockets) and now, the piping!

In my home, my Wang Qi apparently ended up in the store room! I therefore decided to revamp my home, get it trully Feng Shui'd and remove the walls of store room, reduce the size and create a storage cabinet.

This is a story from my Master: he audited a home of a rich guy and this owner's toilet is beautifully renovated and he keeps all my master's books in that big toilet. So, part of his big toilet, which has Wang Qi, becomes his reading corner. You can imagine how he spent his good time in the toilet!

If there is EM wave emits from the lifts, we can mitigate the effect by placing some plants, like those Chinese called "Iron" plants. For those staying in condominiums whereby your main door is sandwiched between two lifts, you can place those "cactus" plant and tie the top of plant with red ribbon. I have the habit of putting plants by the side of our main entrance.

You are right...energy consumption is higher even with '4 ticks' model. I was at Court Bukit Timah with my sister last evening and it was 'love' at first sight we saw the White color LG side-by-side fridge (inverter compressor with 10 years warranty). As ID is considering pure glossy white for my kitchen cabinet, and coupled with the location for fridge is at the dark corner of the kitchen, I decided to go for White colour fridge and eventually, like the LG model, again, for asthetics reason! Original price is $1,599 but bought at discounted price of $1,399 with 2 free gifts.

Yes, no need to buy those trinkets and ornaments. I moved furnitures around, in addition to placing of metal objects to cure 2 Black Sickness Star and 5 Yellow Misfortune star. I used RED light or red object to cure star 3. Then depending on location of 7 star, I may place a small vase of still water. For auspicious Wang Qi, I will stay in that particular room for as long as I could to benefit from the auspicious energy. Ofcourse, I can place clock, TV, radio, fax, etc to activiate the good energy.

My FSM taught only Classical Feng Shui, no need for Art of Placement besides the metal, fan, red lamp, etc for enhancement & cures. Important factor to consider for your work desk includes the favourable facing direction based on your Ming Gua (life gua).

I can't give you a definite answer without analysis the complete picture. Even if your North sector is not missing, there may be other factors to consider whether you are in your profession or not. In other words, you can do better if you can adopt a profession where it is represented by the elements which are favourable to you, according to your birth natal chart in addition to Feng Shui of your house.
