  1. To add on, Parquet requires regular maintenance every 3-5 years, light sanding and gap filling and revarnish..
  2. Battery Cordless Drills.... 10.8v type should do the job.
  3. Is your property a "Rear Garden" or "Front Garden" ?
  4. Frankly speaking, most MA only issue residents' parking lot to car ownership that matches the SP's name, irregardless of address on the IC. For your case, 2nd Lot + Car ownership <> SP. The council can throw out your request, to make it sound more convincing, have the car's insurance showing "her" as the other named driver instead of "any driver under owners knowledge" hope this helps.
  5. it is going to be very dusty... I don't even think you will be able to withstand the smell of raw bricks and cement...etc.
  6. direct copper contact is good. using a black tape is ok, but tends to loosen up after some time. so use a cable tie and zip tie over the black table. confirm safe.
  7. keep in mind that we humans are 3D, not paper dolls. u need at least 2 feet space from the edge of the WC to the tub for clearance. Try sitting on a toilet bowl and measure, u will get what I mean. Another way is that you rotate your WC facing the "new door opening" direction, but subject to your WC offset. Frankly, I have a tub and I hardly use it. Take a look at my bathroom, you will be able to gauge the feasibility of your intent. My floor tiles are 2'x1' in size.
  8. without any pictures, no one here is able to give u an assessment of damage and how to recommend a plumber.
  9. HDB only allow steel or fibreglass tubs if I'm not wrong. A tub's width is about 700-800mm, plus the hollow blocks support, your width might end up to be 850mm. So I am not sure how are you going to hop onto the WC. Maybe u can merge 2 bathrooms into 1.?
  10. need to lightly sand it down and revarnish, anyway parquet needs regular maintenance, 5yr interval: fine sanding, gap filling, revarnish. it is last u at least 20years..
  11. Carpenter rates are pretty standard. all Per Foot Run rates, it is all over the newspaper ads, pretty transparent. A lot of carpenter closed down due to manpower cost, so don't expect to get cheap wood works these days. You seem to know the faulty parts that needs to be replaced. Just lift up the balcony sliding door and knock out the roller and bring to a hardware shop to look for replacement. Again, not all rollers are generic, so good luck finding. As for rubber gasket, it is going to be a bigger job for handyman. 1) remove your sliding door; 2) unscrew the frame; 3) knock out the frame; 4) remove the glass; 5) replace the gasket; 6) put back the glass........blah blah. To be very frank with you, standing on a businessman point of view, I won't risk myself taking you as a customer, unless the profit is good. The risk of breaking the glass is far too much.
  12. I am doing up my master room for the 3rd time within 3 years. We made mistakes for the pass 2 reno, so we hope this 3rd one will be correct.
  13. No curtain shop will sell you the clip. U have to find out who the manufacturer and get replacement clips from them. And if the blinds is more than 5 yrs, the manufacturer may not hold any more spares parts. My suggestion is to replace the entire blind, it is not going to cost you and arm/leg. Ikea or Spotlight have ready made binds which are reasonably priced.
  14. market rate is $1200 and above to solve conceal pipe leak.
  15. Your current swing door frame will not match sliding door. your best option is bi-fold wooden doors.
  16. It should not be an issue as u are dealing with hollow blocks. However, I highly doubt any contractor has the ability to install a tub in the tight spot where your WC obstructing. Why not put the tub in the bedroom?
  17. Talk to ur Chairman. Just tell the condo mgr that SPs pool in to hire MA to take care of the common area, so don't be rude. I believe your estate should have a unit:parking lot ratio 1:1?? So why can u park there since the unit it not lease out.? Be a council member, but be prepared to sacrifice ur time.
  18. Any pictures to share? Let us gauge your contractor's workmanship.
  19. this is nothing new. A lot of condo management matches the car regn details with owner/occupier information. It could be your condo council members gave him the directions to housekeep the car transponder database. You have empowered your council to engage the MA during the AGM, nothing you can do. So now you learn that there is actually nothing great staying in a condo when u pay maintenance fees and yet got to be under Council/MA mercy. I've met more nasty ones during my condo days. indeed some condo mgrs do have multiple properties.. so mind sharing which condo is that?
