  1. Gotten the Real Good chairs and the Couchoid sofa. Am pretty sure I will get other stuff from the place. I love the items there. Think I know which table you're looking at. It's the one that has colourful bum chairs at one side, below the green lamp from Established and Sons?
  2. Going in the first week of August. Do you know which shops your friend went to? We've shortlisted a few, but so far we're looking at easy to carry back items, have not really looked at bulky items like tables etc.
  3. GAS = Gear Acquisition Syndrome. All 3 of you might actually know each other. LOL. Thankfully my hubby is into reno and furnishings now, he'd stop his acquisitions for a while. Btw, about your sink. You mentioned the rusting and oxidation, but your sink is undermount. What you gonna do now... I suppose since it's undermount gonna be difficult to change?
  4. I was just about to say... Mid modern century ppl seems to have an interest in collecting guitars. Jumpstreet, I totally love what you did in the house! Esp the common toilet! I love the floor tiles, but I wonder if they are gonna be difficult to clean! All that grouting!
  5. I bought some of my dining chairs and my sofa from Pomelo. I'm making my ID work with what I have bought! Hahaha. Btw, the next Bludot shipment will come in mid August (with my items!), in case you do want to get anything Pomelo doesn't have on hand, do let Pomelo know early. I just missed their last shipment. The prices for Bludot are not as steep as I think it would be.
  6. Thanks for sharing! I think Motto source their items from Indonesia, iirc. I am not sure if we would be able to get it in BKK though, have not found any BKK furniture shop that stock stuff similar to Motto. I know Lorgans source their items from BKK and the Hawaii-5-O which I showed you earlier stock many of the items which Logans have. I think there must be an OEM manufacturer somewhere in Bangkok doing all these pencil legs, mid modern century stuff. Lorgans items are a tad too "common", for lack of a better word, because I can find the items cheaper elsewhere.
  7. I like both shops. Came to know Motto, cuz we shortlisted the owning company, Project File as one of our IDs. Motto has really nice furnitures, agree that prices are steep, but aren't they supposed to have a sale? How's the sale prices like? I have not had the chance to visit them since the sale started. Pomelo is one of my favourite shops cuz I like almost everything in the shop. Owner is a very humble man who is v passionate about what he does. Showroom is very small, but items are very well designed and good quality stuff. He has actually a larger selection. If you see anything you like from the catalogues in his shop, you can actually check if he can bring it in for you.
  8. LOL. Then you can go for round drawers. Round edges. May be the safest! Which is totally not mid-modern century! LOL.
  9. Nice... Now I wanna see the rest of the unit!
  10. Thanks for sharing this! I wouldn't have known this... I will get my ID to be present as well. My trunking will be a headache, as I wanna get the System 3, but the third bedroom is across the hall, so have to run a very long trunking or look for alternative aircons (window/portable unit)...
  11. Slanting inwards would also be as much a hazard as slanting outwards? Just that the hazard is now on the top of the drawer rather than the bottom? Anyway, I *heart* that table at Grafunkt, if only it doesn't cost SO MUCH.
  12. Are those subway tiles??? We're looking for those as well! Where did you get them?
  13. Such a good piece of "junk" you got there. Which junk store is this along Neil Road?
  14. Good buy! We were at the PC show and was about to exit the 6th floor when we saw the banner for this! Went back in, squeezed through the crowd again just to get there. Quite firm now that we are going to get 1 of these, but prob the biometric ones as hubby doesn't trust RFID cards. I like the asthetics of this model though. **** sleek and pretty. Are you going to install it on your existing door, or getting a new door. I am still thinking if we should get one with or without the handle.
  15. We went to ReStore this afternoon! Such a quaint little store! Although we didn't get anything, we had the waffles and they were delicious! Thanks for recommending a new hangout place for me!
  16. We're back! Basically after our last post, we continued visiting other IDs/Contractors etc. And along the way we also realised that our lists of wants started growing longer and longer! This was the list before: - Overhaul kitchen, install bar counter or island. - Overhaul MBR toilets - Overhaul Common toilet - Install wooden decking on the balcony one contractor advised that this is not suitable as our balcony does not have any direct sun, will become a haven for pests. - Laminates for the bedrooms New items to the above list: - Laminates for the rest of the house (except kitchen area) - Settee for the window area (similar to bay windows - storage ledge by the living room window) - Retile the balcony flooring - Invisible grills for the front facing windows (windows in kitchen, MBR, and 2nd bedroom faces the car park - no view to speak of!) In the midst of the 2 months of ID/Contractor searching, we took 3 weeks out for last minute prep before the wedding, the wedding itself on polling day, and the minimoon after the wedding to Bali. So newly wed and less bogged down with other distractions, we came back and receed a few more IDs. At the end of it all, we contacted 10 IDs/Contractors, of which 2 turned down our project even before visiting, 2 did not get back to us after meeting us, and the remaining 6 gave us a quote ranging from 21k to 45k. In the end, we went with the ID whom we felt most comfortable with, understood what we wanted, gave the most reasonable and logical recommendations and advice. Paid a hefty deposit and chose our floor laminates yesterday! If nothing goes wrong, reno can start in 2-3 weeks! Can't wait!
  17. I'm planning a trip to BKK in first week August. Hubby is familiar with BKK and has friends there. Let me source out some details and we can exchange pointers. If you find any decent MMC shops in BKK, do share!
  18. Ooh, thanks for sharing! Just wondering if you incurred GST when you sent them over, since Customs imposes GST for purchases more than S$400 from overseas. One way would be to break down the purchases into smaller ones such that each purchase is less than $400, but end up incurring more delivery charge.... *dilemma*.
  19. I asked you about this, then read your T-blog. Remember to take pictures once they are up!
  20. Where is the "tomato"??? The total cost of the flat is similar to mine, except that my COV is almost double of yours!
  21. Thanks for sharing! I like some of the dressers! Have you been to Lorgan's at Pasir Panjang? Just wondering how the stuff there compares to charm2nd...
  22. LOL to no. 3 (I do have this intention for my MMC home!), but I like the idea of no. 1 and no. 2.
  23. Hey Bro, I can't find this on their website! Any idea how much is this in Singapore? Can you share the catalogue with me? Thanks and Thanks for your offer of your probable ID as well. We've just confirmed our ID over the weekend. Seen his works and am fairly certain he understands what we want. I'll finish my reno before yours and will update with final pictures so you can have a look when it's done! (T-blog currently very un-updated ).
  24. Ah... thank you! Appreciate if you can review them in terms of customer service, delivery, after sales service etc, as I'm eyeing quite a few pieces from there as well. Cheers!
