Hi, Just to clear up some doubts. The glass dinning table that I purchased is from Sungei Kadut's IFC - International Furniture Center. The shop name is Furniture Club, located on the second floor. It is directly facing the escalator. Hope it's not misleading anymore. Cheers

Met up with the ID yesterday to confirm on the laminate, get quote for wallpaper and selection of tiles. Everything went quite smoothly until wifey went to ask the ID if the living hall design was thought out by him. Unable to give convincing answer and when wifey asked about any other customer have the same or similar design, he blurted out that on in Jurong have the same design!!! Wife's thought of the design suddenly did a 180 degrees U-Turn....... Kept mentioning how can the ID use the same design done by others and gave it to us, just changing the colours does not make much difference.... Haiz...... so now, called the ID, told him about the issue, can sense that the ID a bit unhappy. Just to check with all the rest of the bros and sis, do u guys encounter such problems during ur confirmation of design with ur IDs? Like using the same design that was used on others and u get the same design? Appreciate all comments and advice. Also, we changed the colour of our laminate prints for the WIW wardrobe, wifey asked ID to re-draw a 3D, he also seems reluctant to comply, a bit unexpected. I understand that we are a referral case for the ID but doesn't that mean that he should put in more effort in order to upkeep his reputation? Anyway, I'm always the mediator for such issues between wifey and contractors or any service provider that we ever engaged. Will go down on Wed to pacific the ID and hope everything goes well from there. Wish me luck!!! Meantime, I will upload the pictures of the laminate that we chosen for all the carpentry work. Cheers WIW Center laminate which we changed, asked for another 3D drawing, ID a bit buai siong Black Laminate

Hi, I would say depending on the number of drafters they have in their company. I also recently confirmed on ID on the 6th of Apr. By the 11th, the 3D drawings are out. Maybe also cos I am on a tight budget and told him to draw out the area which will be touched on, mainly the Living Hall, WIW and Kitchen. Hope it helps. BTW, u have a very nice n big place, dun think need to do much right? Cheers

Advise Needed For Renovation Works For A Resale Flat
stinker808 replied to First Love's topic in RENOVATION WORKS
If u have ideas and can conceptulize those ideas into drawings for the contractors to see and understand, plus u have all the time to supervise and coordinate the works from different contractors - Carpentries, Wiring, Tiling, etc, etc, then go for contractors. But do note that if anything wrong happens, unless u knw that during the period when it happened, only one or two contractors are around, if not, it would be hard to pinpoint whose fault it is. If on the other hand, u dun knw how to put ur ideas into drawings, or u dun have the time to be at ur new place 24-7, then it's best to engage an ID, so if anything happens, u can go directly to just one person to blame or be responsible for retification. There is no fast n hard rule on whether to engage contractors or ID since now the line between them is fading fast, even contractors nowadays can give u some drawings as well. It's all up to ur schedule and time. Hope it helps Cheer -
hahaha.... ya, the place still looks new cos the previous owner only renovated the place for 1 year only. But think because the materials that his contractor uses are not the better quality ones or the owner did not mantain it well enough, ended up we have to change all the laminated flooring..... (Thought can save some $$ when confirming). I hope it's fun as well..... Been going up the unit at least once every week..... Really looking forward to the start and the end........ Saw your T-Blog too..... very nice looking...... Especially the light switches... super retro...reminds me of the time when I was staying in Boon lay with my grandma..... Just to check, for the doggy hole at the door, how much is it to construct one? Or rather, cos I will be changing the room doors as well, can get my ID to do the cutting? Cheers

Now, all the laminated flooring is up liao..... did all the work before i started the blog to remind myself of the handwork put in and to cherish the place. This sat will meet up with the ID for wallpaper, laminate and tiles selection. Once all these is done, the renovation will be able to start by next Wed or Thur. Woohoo......... so anticipating the process and looking at the process of transforming a bare house to a place me n wifey can call home...... Will post the process pics as time goes by Cheer

Given the tight budget constraint (Everything in at around 20K), I have to try and minimize some costing in order to free some amount up to buy nicer and better white goods and furnitures if possible. Some of my hardwork - Dismantling of existing laminated flooring for whole house, dismantling of kitchen worktop (Plywood with Laminate) Saved another $700+ Living laminated flooring out Guestroom on the way Kitchen top

Hi all, Just wanna pen down the process of finding our new place, selection of IDs, progress of renovation til the complete work done for it. Been reading up this wonderful forum since we got our place in Woodlands. Doing research every night to gather all the relevent information that this forum has tonnes of to allow my selection process til the completion to be smooth running. Kudos to those who offered their experience and advice. So, after our second appt with HDB on the 18th of Feb, we went out in search of the ID who we can trust or rather our gut feeling tells us. Talked to at least 14 IDs, including those more promiment ones whom are always talked about in this forum and based on our budget constraints, decided to go with the referral company. Finally, we signed on the dotted line on the 5th of Apr and waited for our very first 3D drawing to be out. Quite excited to be honest since it's our first place afterall. Since working in on my company's laptop, will just post the 3D drawings first before uploading the rest. Cheers WIW Living hall - Whole stretch of Feature wall to cover the bombshelter Kitchen

Cos I die die need to change, the main door handles, the paintwork all faded and the internal door knob also slightly dented. Plus I want to get the use-one-key to unlock both the metal gate lock and main door lock. Thanks

Hi, I bought at S$1200 for the whole set. Table plus 4 chairs. Shop name forgot liao... have to go check the receipt. But I think the price i had is the promotion price. U.P should be ard S$1499 or something like tat. My pic in phone only. Dun think can send unless u PM me ur number, then i send mms to u. The table is very nice.... similar to wat u want, except the "legs" is not a full piece, there is an opening in the center. My wife liked it instantly, lucky the price not too ex, if not, I won't consider cos I feel that full glass tables are very expensive... LOL..... Cheer

Hi, I bought one recently for my new place. The glass table yes, chair have to buy from another shop. The location is situated at Sungei Kadut - IFC. It's the shop directly in front of the escalator leading to the second floor. The chair, if i did not remember wrongly, there is one shop at level one selling. behind the escalator. The escalator is located on the left side of the main entrance of IFC. Hope this helps, Cheer

Hi, I was quoted before, a sandblasted tempered glass for my partition at the kitchen at S$300, with wooden frame and half height glass at S$650. So for your quote, I feel it's still acceptable, but do seek others' opinion before committing. Cheer

Hi, No worries.... me also first time buy house and renovation..... all these points can be researched through this wonderful website as well as "close-body combat" with the IDs or contractors that you find. I found at least 14 different IDs before I know of all these... but my knowledge is still quite limited, only able to advise you on certain things. Maybe you can ask some of the "lao jiao" for more advice Cheers
