  1. u and getski seem to like the same type of laminates!!
  2. It should fit most bottles comfortably facing out, even those Dove/shampoo bottles. you wouldn't want the width to be too big, otherwise it will "eat" into your shower space. yes! definitely! we added on AFTER all the wall/floor tiles are done up. actually we wanted it after changing a few of those trays in the prev. place.
  3. cement floor tend to be dusty even after the years.. i think this has been repeated a few times in some threads that it has to be treated properly.
  4. i think its $15-$16 psf onwards. depending on which shop you go to. this price is quite std across tile shops unless you managed to find a good deal!
  5. What about 2. Instead of bare no tiles (which I think isn't practical) use dark grey tiles instead?? I really like stainless steel kitchens.... Look very pro!
  6. Ur layout is very good!! Seems spacious..
  7. we are doing the same.. except we didn't have the marble option for 1st lvl. just curious, u don't like the look of the marble or what? is that why u don't wanna keep it?
  8. ................and there's light!
  9. Lol. Don't think can move in before giving birth. Trying to keep calm~~~~~. Thanks!
  10. Almost 20k if u are choosing Volakas marble range.
  11. looks like it will be major works. Gd luck!
  12. Entering Week 4 of Renovation As we enter week 4 of the renovations, little progress is seen being made from week 3. We had another meeting with the contractor and wife (his wife works with him). He is super disorganized, he needs his wife to keep him straight. Progress so far, wet works was finally completed at Week 3. Roof structure and roof tiling at balcony was done up too and there wasn't any visible leaks. ROFL~ Not that we really checked after the rainy days. Plumbing pipes are up but not all the sanitary wares are installed.. *Sigh* Carpenter came yesterday to take measurements... More modifications were done due to the funny kitchen layout. *Gah* Current on-going works: False ceiling (partition works), plastering and painting. Future works (in no order): Carpentry, installation of lights/fans, polishing of parquet, installation of stairs handrail, grills, curtain making... etc etc etc. Mood: Sian. When will the house be ready?! I am already 36+ weeks pregnant! Baby on the way! Move it! Move it! Move it!
  13. Hi!!! East where? Doing my Reno now too.
  14. Can't wait to see ur sofa in its full glory
  15. Ask him to do a tv console in ur mbr too!
  16. applepie.. as per May_dream1 says, it is cemented onto the existing tiles. we requested this at the very last stage of the tiling works.
  17. Another round of meeting with Contractor Finally chosen all our laminates.. and confirm the build-ins in order to start carpentry works... *SIGH* My contractor is super disorganized. Good thing he has his wife keeping him on track and giving him the occasional It's nice to see our balcony flushed to the living.. and the roof is FINALLY going to go up. We also decided to build some ledges in the shower area versus buying bathroom accessories which tend to fall apart within the year. We are suppose to choose paint colours at the moment.. Can't quite decide if I should leave the kids room alone or make them colourful!
  18. the option is.. to carry it up all the way. lol! that's what i was told when i was looking at a 3 seater option. thats why i settled for an L shape.. it is in 2 pieces instead of 1..
  19. hi.. most 3 seaters are unable to fit into hdb lifts. that's why rarely carry designs that can be joined up.. usually they r one piece.
  20. hahahahaha.. i wish there is a FB like button! nice collection.. i spot some hello kitty collection that i would love to collect too.. but sadly, no space!!!!
  21. Don't worry about origin of tile if they arent wood grain or long planks. China made is good enough. Aside from kitchen, all my tiles are china made. I don't have 3d drawings as I am using a contractor. No use for me. I want technical drawings. Hahaha so old fashion right?? Actually now alot of tilers can be PRC. Good thing ours was Malaysian and very experienced!
  22. LOL! but i don't really understand geek talk. i do nerd talk! ROFL~ yes.. the origin of the tiles is important... china made tiles haven't caught up with the "angmoh" tiles in term of producing good wooden tiles. ours look very real with random grains and has the micro texture to it too.. the way it is laid will minimize warping.. the method of laying is by the manufacturer.. so the tiler has to follow. i am meeting my contractor tmr to confirm the cabinet drawings... 8| he is having headaches with the person who is suppose to draw for him. we've been pushing for the drawings for 2 wks liao! grrrrr...
